Word Art Wednesday 260 & 261 ~ For God So Loved the World ~

Good morning and welcome to another fun challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  Today we have one of the most beloved passages in Scripture to share.  You will see this everywhere from professional athlete's shoes to signs at sporting events.  It is this particular passage that so succinctly describes God's unmerited mercy and grace.  The most precious gift ever given arrived in a lowly stable over 2000 years ago....

This gift arrived without wrapping paper or bows, but most certainly was the most beautiful gift ever given.  I am so thankful that He is mine...

Good morning and welcome to a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  This week we have a beautiful passage from the New Testament.  I am very thankful for the most precious gift of Jesus!  Each and every day, I feel His presence and I am so very grateful for my Father's love and mercies!  If you would like to use this beautiful digital image and share your creation with us please visit the Word Art Wednesday blog.  Here is the card I created with today's digi!

Today's card was inspired by a reversible scarf I found recently.  It has a lovely plaid on one side and a fun hounds tooth on the other!  And today's card is based on a fun sketch you can find at MOJO Monday...

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Word Art Wednesday 250 & 251

Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  This week we have a wonderful digital image featuring scripture from Psalms.  To find the digi scripture featured and details of how you can play along in the #250-#251 challenge pop over to Word Art Wednesday for all the details.  But before you check it out, take a moment to look at the card I created using this week's featured digi!

I started with a white card stock base measuring 4.25 by 11 inches, folded and scored at 5.5 inches.  I cut a slightly smaller DP panel using The Paper Studio's The Shoppe on the Square Paper Pad.  I added a die cut overlay (Spellbinders' Grateful Lattice) in white CS using dimensional foam.  I used Our Daily Bread Designs' Pierced Rectangles Die to create a frame and their Small Bow Die for my vellum panel.  I printed the sentiment on vellum with my inkjet printer.  I chose the specialty paper function when printing and used a heat gun to insure the ink was set.  ODBD's Pierced Rectangles cut and framed the sentiment.  I just love the soft look of vellum, don't you?  Don't forget to hop over to the WAW site to play along and see what the other designers have created!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge 240 and 241

Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  Has it been raining in your part of the world?  We have seen a few days of not so sunny skies.  I must say, I saw the most amazing rainbow recently and thought a similar design would be perfect with this week's scripture...

This week, I started with a 5.5 x 4.25 inch white card stock base and added a chevron layer of DP (Pebbles Garden Party.)  I cut and embossed a white card stock base with a pierced rectangle die after printing today's scripture panel.  I added chalk swooshes (in ROY G. Word Art Wednesday Challenge #238 and #239

Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  I am still loving the red, white and blue papers I am seeing as of late.  So today, I pulled out some floral designs to work with.  I also opted to go with a cleaner look...  a bit more white space...

I started with a plain card stock base measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches and added a fun pattern DP from Anna Griffin's Madison Paper pad.  I printed my scripture on white card stock and cut it down adding a slightly larger blue mat.  I pulled out a Stampin' Up stamp (Timeless Treasures) and added a but of distressed stamping with Sahara Sand ink.  I tied up a twine bow (maybe from the dollar bin at Michaels...) and added a simple ecru mulberry flower.  A few sequins adorn the corner....  (the white space scared me...  lol)

Thanks as always for joining me!  Don't forget to visit the WAW Blog to check out what the other designers have created.  Plus you can play along for the chance to win some fun prizes!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #236 and #237

Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday
Today we have a beautiful scripture from the New Testament, specifically 2 Corinthians.  And this one is perfect for your patriotic cards!  I love this time of year.  Memorial Day, Flag Day and the Fourth of July are some of my favorites.  I love seeing the red, white and blue bunting and Old Glory waving in the breeze.  This scripture is just perfect for those sentiments...  I chose some lovely patriotic paper and went to work...

I used a white card stock base (4.25 x 5.5) for my foundation, cutting a red layer of 4.25 and 5.5 inches, a slightly smaller white matting and finally a top layer of blue CS.  I chose a couple of coordinating designer papers from the Americana collection by Pebbles and cut out a center piece using Our Daily Bread Designs' Double Stitched Rectangles Die.  I cut two in two separate patterns and then split the difference.  I printed my scripture panel on white card stock and used another die from Our Daily Bread Designs, (Double Stitched Circles) to cut it out.  I added a flag DP strip before adding the sentiment panel with dimensional foam.  For my floral spray, I chose a white mulberry rose, 2 red roses and a couple of pale blue blossoms.  I used a couple of Martha Stewart punches from my stash to create two colors of green leaves and kraft twigs.  I placed them all together in the corner to mimic a spray...

So fun, don't  you think?

Thanks as always for stopping by and don't forget to visit Word Art Wednesday for your own copy of the digital scripture and the link to play along!

Today our digital scripture features a passage from 2 Corinthians...

I printed my scripture on white card stock and added a red mat.  I used the same red card stock to create my card base (5.5 x 4.25 inches).  I cut a slightly smaller white card stock panel and used a grunge stamp with taupe ink to add depth to the card.  If you look closely, you will see I embossed the same panel with a falling snow design.  I stamped my two step poinsettia on white card stock before fussy cutting and adding with dimensional foam.

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

We appreciate this week's sponsors so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

This week, I decided to go with a gold and white color scheme...

I started with a white card stock base (5.5 x 4.25 inches).  I placed a gold poster board layer on top (5.5 x 4.25 inches) and added a slightly smaller white card stock mat.  I used a scrap of the poster board (it holds embossing so well and is SO MUCH cheaper than 12 x 12 pieces of gold card stock) to create my lattice layer.  I started to print the scripture on vellum but had a slight boo boo.  I added adhesive to the back when placing it on card stock and running it through the printer...  well guess what?  I put the adhesive exactly where the scripture printed!  When I removed the vellum, it left a nice layer of white card stock bits on the back...  I really liked the look and left it exactly the way I found it!  I thought the scraps actually made the print stand out!  Can you say, HAPPY ACCIDENT???  I added a cute ladybug stamp image (colored with Copics) and a gold and white floral spray in the corner.  The flower is actually Kraft...  but I thought it worked nicely!

So here are the items you see...

WAW177 ~ Psalm 126:3 ~

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

Be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

We appreciate this week's sponsors so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

I love it when we visit the book of Psalms.  This week we have a passage from the 126th chapter to share...

Sometimes in the midst of life's everyday struggles, it is easy to lose sight of just what our Lord and Savior has done for us.  I am more guilty than most.  When times are tough and physical ailments challenge me, it is easy to lose sight of the promise.  I read a passage in a book this weekend that brought this home to me.  A character was talking about why people suffer physical ailments, particularly those that end in death.  Another character offered this thought...  God isn't glorified through the simple things...  He is glorified when those suffering praise him at the point when others would give up.

I guess my take away is this....  it's easy to praise the Lord when things are going perfectly and it is much harder to praise Him when things are not.  But it is those times, when our praises pack the most punch...  for our Father and those who witness our walk.

Blessings...
