ODBD ~ No Place Like Home ~

There is no place like home!  About 7 years ago, my Mom moved out of the old farmhouse she had lived in for 42 years.  That old house was the only place I called home.  I've noticed since she left that I don't feel the same I used to.  It's strange not going "home" for Christmas or Thanksgiving.  It's odd not walking the driveway and fields where I grew up.  It seems no matter how busy life became, that place was my refuge...   a place of tranquility...  a place that reminded me of my earthly father.  I remember how the screen door clattered when Dad walked in the door.  I remember how the front stairwell creaked when you were 10 minutes past curfew...  ;-)

I loved that place.  Somehow, I think heaven will be like that too.  A place where you feel at home...

Today's card featuring Christmas Card Paper Collection 2015, Christmas Tunes stamp set and the Windowsill Candles Die set...

I used my Scor-Pal to create "bead board" for the bottom of my card.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and framed it with a Stitched Ovals Die.  I stamped the mountain view with a soft gray ink and lightly sponged the sky a summer blue.  I cut it down so it fit my Welcoming Window Die with Windowsill Candles Die set nestled on the sill.

So here are the new items you see...

and some old favorites...

WAW192 ~ The Mountains and the Hills ~

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

Be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

We appreciate our sponsors so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who generously provided our prizes this week!

Our scripture this week may be found in the book of Isaiah...

I started with a white card stock base measuring 5.25 x 5.25 inches.  I cut a slightly smaller designer paper layer featuring a variety of trees.  I printed this week's Scripture on white card stock and cut it to fit slightly off center.  I stamped a focal image which complements this week's scripture with gray and olive inks before die cutting/embossing it with an oval die.  I added a bit of soft blue ink with a sponge to create the sky and added the panel with dimensional foam.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don't forget to hop over to the WAW site and play along!

Blessings...

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

We appreciate our sponsor's generosity so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

This week we are visiting Philippians...

I started with a black card stock base and added a white mat.  I printed the scripture on white card stock and used a die cut circle to mask it as desired.  I then layered on distress inks to create my sky.  I started with a mustard color, added a burlap shade and finished with a tea dyed hue.  I then stamped my image (twice to cover the entire card) with the tea dye ink and followed up with some random trees in black.  I just love this scene!  I will have to try this again.

Thanks for stopping by!

F4A132, WAW43 & SSIC155 ~ Birthday Blessings

Happy, happy Labor Day to you!  Hoping you are having a nice LONG weekend!  Things are a little rainy here but that allows me to focus on my house.

Thank you to everyone who has kept my Mom in your prayers!  She is doing well and is able to spend more time on her own.  It will be at least 4-6 more weeks of zero weight on her foot.  She seems to be getting stronger each and every day!  What a blessing!

So this weekend, I am attending to some badly needed household chores and even some crafting!  Funny thing happened on the way to my craft table...  everything was just so MESSY!!!  So in the process, I had to move furniture and reorganize.  Whew!  Didn't know I was in for that!  lol...  Hubs says when I get in these moods to look out!!!  ;-)

Today I have a birthday card to share using a couple of ODBD sets.

I stamped the new ODBD set, Keep Climbing on kraft twice with Memento ink. I then matted the image with black, brown and another layer of black card stock. I selected a sentiment from the Happy Birthday collection. A few Kaisercraft pearls (black) finish it off. Very simple and a nice masculine card to add to my collection!

Thanks for stopping in and until next time... blessings...

Operation Write Home, MOJO256 & WAW43!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wanted to share a project I created this week for Mojo Monday. (And since it is Sunday, I better get this gem posted... lol...)

But I also wanted to share a very worthwhile project going on over at Operation Write Home.

For those of you who are not familiar with it, this program gathers handcrafted cards and distributes them to our brave men and women in uniform. By donating handcrafted cards, you enable servicemen and women to send lovely cards home to their loved ones! Isn't that cool?

There are a few rules. For example, you cannot use glitter on your creations.  So you will want to check out all the guidelines.  You can find all the details HERE. And to make things even more exciting they have challenges for you to participate in! In fact each month, Our Daily Bread Designs sponsors a fabbo challenge. My dear friend and fellow DT member, Angie Crockett is hosting this month. So please stop by and check it out! I know you will get a blessing out of participating! Click HERE to check out Angie's challenge.

Thanks to Kelley Holland at ODBD for being such a supporter of this worthwhile cause!

Now I have a card to share for you today using the weekly Mojo Monday sketch...

And the card...

I started with two die cut scallops using my Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge. I then added a Cheery Lynn Designs die cut doily and a Spellbinders die cut denim DP. I used coordinating papers to create the two vertical banners but opted to used a Zva light blue pearl spray to mimic the horizontal banner. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs' brand new release, Keep Climbing. I thought by using denim papers I would come out with a little more "masculine" card! ***snort*** Somehow, that didn't quit happen!!!

Thanks for stopping in and blessings to you...
