WAW220 ~ Thou Upholdest Me ~

Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday
We have more great prizes this week SO be sure to stop by and check this challenge out.  AND make sure to post your creation for an opportunity to win!

This week we have a wonderful passage from the Old Testament.  I chose to emboss white card stock with a clover embossing folder, ink it with a soft green distress ink, add a touch of watermark ink AND some fun  Antique Gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp.

I printed this week's scripture on white card stock and pulled out a couple of ODBD graduated dies found in the Double Stitched Rectangles set.

Be sure to check out Simon Says Stamp in the coming days to see this new embossing powder release!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time...

Blessings...

WAW186 ~ Hebrews 13:8 ~ The Same, Yesterday, and Today, and Forever~

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

Be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

We appreciate this week's sponsors so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

This week, I decided to go with a lush spring scene...

I started with a white card stock base measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches and added a sage green mat.  I printed this week's scripture on white card stock and cut it down slightly smaller than the sage mat.  I then stamped the vine imaged directly over it.  I used Memento's Bamboo Leaves colored ink for the vine image and Summer Sky (with a hint of London Fog) sponged along a torn piece of paper to create the "sky."  I stamped the butterflies on Copic compatible paper before die cutting and coloring with Copics.  I added the finished butterflies with dimensional foam.

Additional items on today's project...

Paper - Bazzill, Georgia Pacific, Neenah Solar Crest
Dies - Our Daily Bread Designs - Tres Papillons Die
Stamps - Our Daily Bread Designs - Trois Jolis Papillons;
Belles Vignes

Thanks for stopping by!

WAW128 ~ 2 Corinthians 1:5 ~ The Sufferings of Christ

Welcome!  It's time for another
fabulous and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

Check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

A special thank you to Mark's Finest Papers and Yours Mine Paper Crafts for graciously providing our prizes this week.

This week, Christians celebrate Good Friday and Easter.  I often think that we focus so much on the joy of the Resurrection that we forget the pain that Jesus endured before and during his Crucifixion.  He overcame death and through his sacrifice we can too.  However, he paid a terrible price.  The striking part...  he WILLINGLY laid down his life for you and I.  He knew our failings, shortcomings and sin.  AND HE DID IT ANYWAY!  That is a testament to true love!  Hallelujah!

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Easter!

I started with a white card stock base (4.25 by 5.5) and then added a DP layer from Recollections.  I cut a smaller rectangle out of coordinating MME paper and placed it on top with dimensional foam.  I printed today's scripture on white card stock and trimmed it down into a banner, placing it slightly askew.  I wrapped some light pink seam binding (adding a bow) around the layer before adhering it.  A wooden button with baker's twine woven through is nestled on top.  I added a few bits of die cut greenery and cut down a pearl flourish to add as well.  The final touches...  a few different shades of light pink mulberry roses!  Hope you like it!

Until next time...

Blessings...

Supplies

Papers - Georgia Pacific, Recollections, Bazzill, MME Lost and Found
Dies - Fancy Foliage Die
Misc. - Wooden Button, Seam Binding, Pearl Flourish by Recollections, Mulberry Roses

Exploring Cricut ~ Christmas Blessings ~

Good morning!  Thanks for joining me for
another great Exploring Cricut post!

This week I am featuring a card project!  With Christmas on the horizon, I need more cards in my stash!  So I pulled out my Winter Woodland cartridge and went to work...

I chose a snowflake cut (page 35) and cut it at 4.5 and 2.5 inches.  They are stacked on top of each other with dimensional foam.  The card base (white CS) is 5.5 x 4.25 inches with a dark red CS matting.  I chose some DP by Teresa Collins and hand cut the zig zag border following the design.  I added the snowflake, stamped my sentiment on white CS and hand cut a banner.  The final touch...  a white button with a bit of red & white jute for a jaunty finish!

Thanks for joining me!  Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow as we celebrate Our Daily Bread Designs' December release!

{hugs}

MOJO309 ~ Green Apples ~

This time of year, my mind turns to apples.  Apple cider, apple pie, apple turnovers...  YUM!!!  Nothing says Fall like a trip to the apple orchard!  Granny Smiths are one of my personal favs.  Not everyone likes their tart taste.  I recognize I am in the minority here.  So to honor my favorite fruit I colored these gems green!

and the sketch that inspired it all...

I chose an apple green card stock and kraft paper for my matting.  I colored the image with Copics and highlighted each "apple" with a white gel pen.  I sponged a soft blue ink on the background to mimic sky.  I added a die cut sentiment with just a touch of jute for a rustic touch.

Now I want some pie and ice cream!  :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread Designs' September Release

Welcome to the ODBD September New Release!

Kelley will be choosing one random winner from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $50 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used towards the purchase of stamps!  Now who couldn't use more ODBD stamps?????  You have until September 3rd, 2013 at 9:00pm EST to leave your comments on the designers blogs.  The winner will be posted on the ODBD Blog on September 4th, so be sure to check back to see if you have won.  :-)

I have two cards today featuring this fabulous new release!

The first uses a new set called Jingle Bells...

shown here....

Isn't this image just amazing when colored?  I used Copics to color it and lightly sponged blue ink around it to create a faux sky.  A touch of glitter glue brightens up the snow while layers of red and green card stock make the white die cut layers pop.  I stamped a coordinating sentiment from this set on white card stock and used a ribbon die cut to highlight it.  I nestled it on the bottom so you could see the entire image.  This image is so realistic!  I believe I can even hear those bells ringing!

And my second card today features another fabulous set, Holly Wreath...

shown here...

I just had to color this amazing image with Copics as well!  I colored each leaf to mimic holly with light green edges by layering a yellow green ink first, then a medium tone and finally a dark green in the center.  I then went back over each with the lightest color to blend.  I used a white gel pen to add subtle highlights on the berries.  This image is amazing!  A couple of gold bells added at the top add just the perfect touch.  I embossed the sentiment with gold to match the real jingle bells.

And a few sneek peeks I have shared this week...

this one using  Jingle Bells

and this one using Apples

shown here...

I just love them all!  Don't you?  Now I have Christmas carols running through my head...

Anyone else ready to start their Christmas card stash????

WAW94 ~ I Timothy 6:6 ~

Welcome!  It's time for some beautiful scripture and a creative challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!

A special thank you to both Heart & Soul Rubber Stamps and Digi Darla's for sponsoring this week's challenge!

This week we feature I Timothy 6:6...

This week's project is based on a card by the weekly featured stamper at Splitcoast.  I created a 5 x 7 card (something I rarely do these days.)  I'm not sure why I don't as this is really a versatile size.  I like to take these cards and put them in a simple inexpensive 5 x 7 frame and give as gifts.  You only need to remove the glass and adhere to the easel backing.  Super easy!

All papers are from a coordinating paper pack set.  I did use a woodgrain embossing folder to add a bit of depth to the printed "wood."  A floral spray frames the scripture nicely.

Andie Miller asked earlier in the week for specific dimensions on the greenery die...  so if you are reading Andie...  here you go...  4 x 2 1/4 inches...  It should fit nicely in your Cuttlebug!  :-)

Thanks for visiting!  Until next time...

Blessings.

ODBD ~ Thinking of You !

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. There were a few days when I felt like I might. LOL

Christmas Eve was one of those days. I felt unusually drained. Christmas Day was much the same. But since John and I were hosting, I thought I was just worn out from all the family fun and frolic. Thursday and Friday were spent battling a raging fever and congestion. By Monday I forced myself to visit the doctor. Nausea, fever, the whole nine yards this past week... so much for starting out the new year...  :-P

No blogging here for the past few weeks my friends... My Christmas tree was stripped of its ornamentation (in phases) but it has not made it out of the house... I told John that I might just tie some Easter eggs on it and call it done... :-) Might as well laugh about it, right?   This too shall pass...

So here's today's card...

Today's card features a couple of new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs'

Plus a special Spellbinders die for Our Daily Bread Designs' here...

Hope to be back up and crafting full-time soon...

Blessings...
