Let Faith Be the Bridge ~ A Vintage Card

Image
I love looking at old pictures of our community.  Recently, I discovered an online history group for our hometown.  And I have been enjoying the old sepia toned pictures of our past.  So in the spirit of those photos and the beautiful vintage photo albums they are nestled in, here is a card featuring Our Daily Bread Designs' Safe Travels stamp set.    I even used some old photo corners I had in my crafting stash...  SO fun! Here are the items you see today...

Thanks for stopping by!  And I hope you have a fun and SAFE New Year's Eve!  Don't forget to stop back tomorrow and check out Our Daily Bread Designs' January release!

Love - A Valentine Post

Image
A few months back, I had the opportunity to participate in a joint blog hop with Word Art Wednesday and Simon Says Stamp.  And as a result, SSS has graciously sent me an item or two every so often to create and share.  My most recent "surprise" package included a lovely abstract heart die.  I cut three of the images out and stacked them on top of one another to give it an added edge.

I started with a white card stock base adding a slightly smaller red card stock mat.  I embossed my final layer with an embossing folder and added my three layer die.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and created a fun banner and placed it on top.  SUPER EASY!
Thank you again to Simon Says Stamps (#SimonSayStamp) for the fun products including

A Saddle Up Thank You

Happy Wednesday!  We are barreling toward a new year and that means those dreaded RESOLUTIONS..  Are there any special resolutions you are making this year?  I hope to take better care of myself, eat less and rest more.  Not sure how I will accomplish all of these lofty goals but they sound good, right? Today, we have a fun card featuring a few items from Our Daily Bread Designs' December release.  I just love this horse image and decided to try my hand at creating a palomino.  Not so sure how well I captured it but I certainly enjoyed the creative process.  ;-)

ODBD - Plough the Fields ~ A Spotlight Card

Image
Good morning!  I hope this post finds you well and recovering from a joyous holiday!  Today I have a quick card using the spotlight technique.  You stamp the image twice, trimming one down, coloring it and layering it over the original black and white image.  It's a simple technique but looks particularly striking when used with bold colors.  I chose to work with red and white for this project.

I started with a white card stock base adding a slightly smaller red mat.  I stamped my image (Plough the Fields) with black ink on white card stock twice.  I colored one image and then used the new Rectangles Die and Double Stitched Rectangles Die to highlight it.
Here are the items you see...

I stamped my sentiment (Plough the Fields) on white card stock and used the older Pennants Die to highlight it.
Thanks for taking a few moments to stop by!  Blessings...

Revisiting ODBD's December Release

Image
Good morning and welcome to a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' December 1st Release.  I have a project to share today using Plough the Fields along with a couple of new dies, Double Stitched Rectangles and Rectangles.  For more inspiration using the December Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.
For this project I started with a cream card stock base using the Rectangles Die to create a rich chocolate mat.  I chose a slightly smaller die from the Double Stitched Rectangles set for the next creamy layer.  I stamped my image (Plough the Fields) with a rich cocoa ink on the same cream CS and framed it with a smaller die from the Rectangles set.  I stamped the sentiment (with black ink) directly onto the image panel.
Here is the stamp set you see in today's project...

ODBD and Cardmaker Blog Hop!

Image
Welcome!  Thank you so very much for stopping by!  I am so excited to be a part of today's Our Daily Bread Designs and CardMaker hop!  For today's hop we are taking a look at some of ODBD's Christmas stamps, dies and papers.  I couldn't wait to go through my stash and make another Christmas card for my stash.  For this project I used ODBD's Christmas Tunes stamp set...

I started with a rich burgundy base measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  I slightly smaller gold card stock mat frames the distressed designer paper from ODBD's Christmas Paper Collection 2015.  I added a gold rectangular die cut (Double Stitched Rectangles Die) and a curved sentiment (Christmas Tunes) panel created with the Leafy Edged Borders Die.  A paper poinsettia created with ODBD's Peaceful Poinsettias Die and greenery (Fancy FoliageLovely Leaves Die sets) finish the spray.  I love the contrast of the formal gold card stock with the distressed DP...

So here are some of the Christmas ite…

I started with a white card stock base and added a red mat.  I stamped the Fair Isle design with Versamark ink on black card stock before embossing with white embossing powder.  After printing the scripture on white card stock, I cut and embossed it using a circle die.  I added a paper die cut poinsettia, greenery and twigs to adorn the corner.

Welcome to December and the ODBD Blog Hop!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' December release and blog hop!  It is hard to believe that Christmas is just a few weeks away!  WHERE did the time go?  This month ODBD has some wonderful designs that work well for a variety of occasions.  And we all know it is UBER hard to come up with masculine cards.  All of the designs work well for those special "manly" projects IMHO.  Plus, did I mention a new series of dies perfect for framing your sentiments and images?  I can't wait for you to see them!  ;-) And don't forget to hop along with our design team today BECAUSE you could win a gift certificate to the ODBD store, so you can purchase some ODBD stamps!  Check after today's projects for all the details.  But for now, let's hop into my first project using the new Safe Travels stamp set along with a couple of new die sets, Rectangles and Double Stitched Rectangles.
I started with a white card stock base, adding a bit of Kraft.  I chose a couple of coor…

Another Merry Monday!

Image
Welcome!  Today marks my second Merry Monday post.  Thanksgiving is officially over and I suspect many of you are in the process of digging out your Christmas decorations.  We decided to put up a live tree this year as we normally do.  The experience was a bit different this year...  about 3 feet of difference to be exact.  We normally put up an eight foot tree.  This year we decided we need more room for the mass of Christmas ornaments we have collected over the years.  Well, the tree "fainted" twice...  thankfully without ornaments...  SO we had to buy a slightly larger tree stand to accommodate our vertically challenged fir.  SO now I have a lovely tree in my living room with lights...  I am TOO exhausted from the stress of tree catching to put ornaments up.  **I really think I'm still afraid this towering frasier will yell out "timber" and hit the deck...**
Today, I have a fun embossed card to share using a few items from Our Daily Bread Designs' Novem…
