WAW86 & MOJO299 ~ His Workmanship ~

Welcome and Happy Wednesday!  The week has flown by and today it's time for another fabulous challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!

A big thank you to both Cheery Lynn Designs and Scripture by Design for providing prizes this week!

This week we are using Ephesians 2:10...

This time I chose to use a sketch.  I matted my scripture panel on red card stock and nestled it over a Spellbinder die embellished with pearls.  I used baker's twine as a ribbon element and added a blossom with die cut leaves, punched twigs and a strategically placed pearl flourish.  The base is plain white card stock with red for a pop of color.  The DP are coordinating mint green and orange selections that I felt complement the floral design.  So what do you think?

Don't forget to hop over to Word Art Wednesday to play!  Thanks again and see you next week!

ODBD ~ Hear My Prayer ~

Good evening!  I hope this post finds you enjoying this wonderful Sabbath day!  I'm resting after a fun filled Saturday night with friends, family and food!  The grand kids even got a bit of camping and fishing in while visiting.  We had a blast!

I have a card to share today using Our Daily Bread Designs' stamp set, Precious Girl .  But first I would like to share a story that touched my heart.

Many years ago this dear lady was dating a fine young man.  She was a teenager while he was attending a Bible college out of state to become a minister.  They were deeply in love and committed to the Lord.  Before returning to school, he preached a sermon based on this passage from Romans....

"Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.  Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."
Romans 12:1-2 HCS

He and a friend started back that evening to school.  After driving several hours and just an hour or so from campus, he was involved in a terrible car crash.  This young and promising Christian was called home to meet his Lord and Savior.

As the family came together to grieve they were informed that among the young man's personal items found at the crash was his bible, found open to this very passage.  In the violent collision, the Bible not only came to rest open to this exact passage but was covered by some of the young man's blood.  A disconcerting image perhaps...  As Christians are we willing to give our all including our very life to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ?  Are we presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice, modeling His very life and legacy?  We may not have to shed blood as our Savior did but we may be asked to give something up...  Will you answer the call?

Father in Heaven Hear My Prayer....

Thank you and God Bless...

North Coast Creations ~ The Heart ~

The heart is a funny thing, isn't it?  Can your heart really swell with pride?  Can you physically be cut to the heart?  Can you be truly heart sick?  Isn't it amazing how the very organ that sustains God's ultimate creation can hurt us so?  I am always thankful in this fallen world to find a good heart...  Good Samaritans...  those who take a moment out of their day to shine God's love on others...  angels unawares...

It is my sincere prayer this and every day to not let my heart get heavy with the wear and tear of daily life.  I pray God opens my eyes so I can praise Him as the Creator deserves.

I am reminded of God's hand in this world every time I see a beautiful sunset.  It reflects the hands of the Creator so...  Today's card tries to capture that with soft sponging and a black silhouette...

The image is from North Coast Creations and is called Something Marvelous

Thanks for stopping by!

Word Art Wednesday ~ Philemon 4:6-7

Welcome!  Thank you for stopping by.  It's time for another  inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Crafty Secrets for sponsoring this week's challenge!  Take a peek at my card and you will see a couple of fabulous floral images from their digital collection!  :-)

This week we are using Philemon 4:6-7...

I chose to mat the images and scripture in black.  I printed the scripture on plain white card stock and used chalk (blue & yellow) to highlight the words prayer and thanksgiving.  I lightly colored some of the other words with chalk as well.  I love the clean lines of this one.  Definitely a switch for me.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and a special thanks to Craft Secrets for allowing us to use some of their fabulous images this week!  Blessings....

MOJO297 ~ I Love Freedom ~

Good morning!  Thanks for bearing with me as I get back in the routine of crafting!  As you read this, my hubby will be heading home from rehab after having a bilateral knee replacement.  OUCH!!!  I'm excited to get him home after almost two weeks of being away!  The first week was spent at his bedside.  He had a rough time with surgery and was pretty sick for a few days.  Thankfully, a great many prayers were answered and he is doing well.  Now, I just have to keep the big ole Saints from trying to  make a human pinball out of him...  :-)

Today, I have a sketch inspired card using Our Daily Bread Designs' set, Some Gave All.

I used a bit of burlap behind the eagle for added texture.  The colors are really bright on this card.  I wanted to add more embellishments but was afraid of getting it too busy.  :-(

I stamped and colored the eagle image on Copic compatible paper and then fussy cut it.  I added a bit of stickles to each individual star for interest.  The sentiment, embossed with a sand color EP, is on coordinating DP.  I used a paper edger punch to create the scallops behind the panel.

Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments!

ODBD ~ Proud To Be An American ~

No truer words were ever spoken...  I am grateful to live in a free country.  I am thankful to be able to express myself and worship as I see fit.  I am proud to have family members who served in our military.  I am mindful of the fact our country was founded on Christian/Judeo principles.  I am proud to be an American!  God Bless America!

I created this card based on an old Mojo Monday sketch.  I colored the image with Copics and carefully cut it out.  The eagle's stars have just a bit of Stickles for added pizzazz.  I also added some glitter glue to the word American as well.  Dimensional foam adds just the right touch of height to make my eagle soar!  Thanks for looking and until next time, blessings...

Word Art Wednesday ~ Proverbs 16:7 ~

Happy, happy Wednesday!  It's time for another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Nice Crane Designs and Verve for sponsoring this week's challenge!

This week we are using Proverbs 16:7...

I based the design on a recent challenge sketch from SCS.

I printed the digital scripture on white card stock and framed it with another layer of card stock cut with Spellbinders Large Ovals.  The coordinating DP panels are paper pierced for added detail.  I added a paper flower with bits of die cut foliage and paper punches leaves.  I also added a pearl flourish, cut and placed to create a complimentary design.  It's a pretty simple design with a decidedly feminine feel to it.

As always, thanks for stopping by and until next time...

Blessings...

ODBD ~ Some Gave All ~

Good morning friends!
So glad you could stop by for a bit.  Today I have a new card for me...  a Z fold created with the new Some Gave All set by Our Daily Bread Designs.

Here's a photo of the outside all closed up neatly with a scrap ribbon bow....

the inside with a fabulous eagle image from this set and scripture from the Book of Romans...

Here's a closer view of the inside panel.  I
chose not to color the image but use a sepia ink...

I secured the bow with the die cut sentiment.  The panel has dimensional foam on the back and was glued strategically to cover / hold the ribbon.  I placed pearls around the edge of the bottom die cut layer to add a bit of pizzazz.  (I know it is a guy card but guys need bling, right?)

I chose a Kraft card stock for my base and matted each layer with navy.  The DPs are from a Bo Bunny collection I received a year or so back.  I like the masculine feel they provide.  (Even if there is a bit of bling...  lol)

As always thanks for stopping by and until next time...

Blessings...

The first card (an easel card) uses Home of the Free for the scripture panel (shown below the eagle) and Some Gave All for the eagle image and sentiment shown on the bottom panel.

Here's a better side view.  I stamped the eagle on coordinating DP and lightly colored the image with colored pencils.  The stars have just a dab of glitter glue to reflect light.

Here are photos of the sets...
