Exploring Cricut Daily Post

Happy Friday and welcome to another fun day at Exploring Cricut

This week I made a treat box using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2!  I thought this would be cute as a pumpkin but opted to make something more neutral for a party I'm having soon!

Both pieces were cut at 5.75 inches and may be found on page 35 of the instruction book. I used a double sided DP so when the container is open you have another cute view. It is just the perfect size to hold wedding mints or a few chocolate kisses. Yum!

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

ODBD October Product Focus ~ Crown of Thorns ~

Good morning dear friends!

If you are looking for the bi-weekly Exploring Cricut challenge click HERE...

This month Our Daily Bread Designs' Product Focus features a fabulous stamp set called Crown of Thorns.
Here is the set...

and my creation using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight as my base...

I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored it with Copics. I cut the image with a die and nestled it on the larger die base. A vine die cut and blossoms add a bit of interest in the corner. I also stamped the sentiment and hand cut it before layering it with dimensional foam. A few pearls are scattered around the die for added bling.

The weekly Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge is to create something that reflects peace and calm.  Although some may think the image of Christ is not peaceful, I beg to differ.  This image reminds me just how safe and secure I am in God's love since Christ bore the punishment of my sins.  There is nothing more calming than that.  After all if Christ could give His life for me and suffer so, what do I have to worry about???  That my friends is PEACE for mind...

Thanks for stopping in and don't forget to pop by Our Daily Bread Designs' blog to see all the lovely creations made with this powerful set! Blessings...

SR146 ~ Boo From the Crew ~

Good morning!  Had a few moments last night to attend a card class and hang out with old friends!  I just LOVE those kind of evenings!  Today I plan on getting a few household chores done and **wink, wink** sneak in some crafty!  :-)

But in the meantime, I want to share a fun sketch I found at Stampin' Royalty.   A while back my friend and Close to My Heart enabler, Emily, hosted a card class featuring a cute Halloween set.  One of the phrases is "no bones about it."  With all these big dogs around, I thought that sentiment might prove to be useful!  So with some new CTMH papers and stamp set plus this sketch I went to work.  My card doesn't have anything to do with St. Bernards but I'm sure someone will like it!  So here's the sketch...

And my interpretation...

I distressed and inked the DP edges. If you look closely, you will see a torn area on the bottom.
** That was on purpose...  ** Instead of pennants, I opted to use a Martha Stewart punch (Drippy Goo) and a bit of measuring tape twill from my stash to come up with some fun and funky trim. I stamped the trick or treater image on paper twice and hand cut one image to add with dimensional foam. The sentiment was embossed on black card stock.

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for the Clear Dollar Stamps Monthly Blog Hop. I have two posts for Exploring Cricut this week for my Cricut fans as well. Pop in Monday and Friday for those. Tuesday, Our Daily Bread Designs will reveal their weekly challenge. Come by for my interpretation and details!

Whew! Sounds like a busy week! :-)

Thanks for stopping in and hope you have a wonderful day!

MOJO263 ~ Just Because, Shabby Style ~

I must confess my craft table is a mess!  I am frantically working to clear up some projects and as a result my craft table looks...  well loved???  lol...  I firmly believe a messy craft table must indicate a creative mind...  ***please don't burst my bubble dear friends***  :-)

Today I am sharing my take on the Mojo Monday sketch...

and my interpretation...

I created the flower by stamping multiple images (from Verve's Great Friend set) on designer paper and hand cutting each one out. I then used a stylus to curl and cup each layer and nestled them together with some glue. I placed a pearl brad in the middle to adorn and attach all layers. The greenery may also be found in the Great Friend set. I used a Close To My Heart ink and hand cut each before adhering as desired. The circle is actually a Spellbinder die I cut, embossed and embellished with pearls before placing behind the panel. The main panel has also been distressed, inked and embossed for added interest. The measuring tape is actually an embellie by Maya Road I picked up recently. Isn't it cute? Thanks so much for stopping by! Will be back soon with more fun projects to share! Hugs and blessings...

DS73 & TSTR136 ~ A Shabby Thank You ~

Welcome friends! It is so very nice to see you! Today, I am excited to be playing along with two challenges, The Shabby Tea Room AND The Deconstructed Sketch! I haven't had as much time to play along as of late... and this was a real treat! So here's the sketch...

the inspiration photo from The Shabby Tea Room...

a photo of the finished card...

and a closeup of it...

and the stamp set used...

So soft and shabby! :-) Behind the spray of roses you will find a beautiful die cut pale pink vellum heart. My new blogger friend Kathleen sent that my way! Isn't she just a dear? ***waving wildly Kathleen*** Thanks! She also sent me the most BEAUTIFUL fall card and I promise I will share a photo of it soon! You will love it as much as I do!

The challenge at The Tea Room... to combine rustic and elegant!  I embossed the wood panel DP with a Woodgrain Embossing Folder for added realism. I also threw in some pearls ***Don't I always*** and a bit of crystal embellished ribbon. Kinda reminds me of a chandelier. I also added some fun teardrop shaped gems by Recollections. Black CS matting defines the bottom layer on a kraft CS base. I also used a circle paper punch to cut and create the kraft scallop behind the icy trim. And of course all my edges are distressed and inked! So what do you think? I always love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for stopping in and don't forget to stop in later this week for my Mojo Monday entry PLUS a fun blog hop at Clear Dollar Stamps! It's gonna be SO fun! Blessings...

Clear Dollar Stamps October Release!

Welcome to the October Digi release for
Clear Dollar Stamps!

If you are looking for this week's Our Daily Bread Designs' Shining the Light Challenge click HERE...

This month, I am working with a couple of images, one color and one not.  So let's hop in and take a look at these cute images.

For my base I layered some coordinating DP and then added a layer of Digi DP available in this month's Antique Ornaments (Color) set. I printed the color image on Neenah paper and then used an ornament shaped die to cut it out. I placed a double bow tie on the top, slathered some Diamond Stickles on the image. (It reminds me of those beautiful glass ornaments I LOVE...) I cut the sentiment out with a pennant die and adhered it to the top. Kinda looks like the ornament should be nestled on my tree this year! Super cute!

And for my next project... lots of pink...

I used a floral die to cut, emboss and lightly ink the edges of the sentiment. The dove and sentiment may be found in CDS's digital release, Scriptures of Peace. I layered a bit of gingham DP on a white base before paper punching another white panel and adding a bit of rose DP for contrast. Both ribbon and mulberry roses adorn the side. A foliage die by Spellbinders make the greenery a breeze. A few additional evergreen sprigs are nestled behind the roses as well for depth. Love it!

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to stop by my other CDS Digi Team sisters to check out their creations!  Blessings...

CDS ~ It's the Great White Pumpkin!

Good morning dear friends!  I'm popping in to show you a minimalist pumpkin.  I wanted to created a white image and used some earthtone Copics to do it.  A great deal of black and white plus some Copic boo boos (please overlook those) and here it is...

The image and sentiment may be found in Clear Dollar Stamps' Digi set, Autumn Blessings. After printing my image on Neenah paper, I lightly colored it with E50, E53 and E000 before blending with 0. The key to working with printer images, make sure to let the image set and cure overnight. You can also use a hair dryer or heat gun to set the ink. I prefer to just let it cure. SO much easier and less stressing for me! :-) The base is a combo of two die cuts from Spellbinders recent release, Marvelous Squares. A few pearls and a fun polka dot ribbon and you are done! I think I like orange pumpkins better... ;-) Thanks for stopping in...

DS72 & a Blog Candy Winner! ~ Ho, Ho, Ho!

Hello Wednesday!  I am so excited to reveal my blog candy winner for Sunday's Birthday Blog Hop.  (Yes, I was one of the team members with hidden "blog candy.")  I am terrible at keeping secrets!  So glad I can reveal the winner.  :-)  Thanks to everyone who stopped by to wish Kelley Holland, the owner of Our Daily Bread Designs a happy birthday!  I know she appreciated all of your birthday wishes.  And now for the winner...  I feel like Santa Claus...  :-)

Congrats to Kathy O!

Please reach out to me within 48 hours so I can get your prize pack out!  Thanks again to everyone who took time out of their day to play along!

Today I am taking a few moments to play along with Jen at The Deconstructed Sketch. By now, everyone knows how I feel about sketches! They make me SO happy! And this one is no exception...

I decided to pull out a fun stamp set recently sent to me by Kelley Holland, owner of Our Daily Bread Designs and North Coast Creations. This set is from NCC and is called Holly Jolly Christmas. Kelley and crew travel almost every weekend to stamp and craft shows to show their wares including booths for both Our Daily Bread Designs and North Coast Creations. If you get a chance to check NCC out in person, please do! The images are darling!

Santa Claus is coming to town...

Several layers of coordinating DP by Simple Stories, kraft and card stock along with some lace and pearls make up this fun card. I love the traditional red and green but I also like nontraditional colors. I think the kraft adds a country/vintage feel. A few paper punched evergreen springs and a cute copper jingle bell add festive touches. And isn't Santa darling?  And he was a blast to color! So fun! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are working on your Christmas cards too!

Until next time...

Blessings...

So let's dive right in!  This time the challenge team wants to see you use...

fall colors and a verse!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, October 14th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC125. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

Exploring Cricut - Breast Cancer Awareness

Welcome to another fun challenge at Exploring Cricut!  This rotation we are focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness!  As many of you may know, October marks Breast Cancer Awareness.

Personally, I have had friends and family members diagnosed with this terrible disease.  And I know we as a nation long for the days when this terrible disease will be eradicated.

Several years back a woman from my church was diagnosed with cancer.  She was a breast cancer survivor and had reached the coveted 5 year mark before it returned.  I had just started creating cards a few months before.  I asked God for guidance.  What could I do?  I felt so powerless and quite honestly useless.  One morning it came to me.  I could make cards!  So every week for over a year, I sent her a card.  As the days became shorter and her journey home came to a close, her family told me just how much those cards meant.  She kept each and every one in a box and would go through them over and over.  When her eyesight became weak, she would ask her husband to read each and every card to her.  He told me how animated she would become when he told her "a fat envelope" was in the mail.  That gentle soul lost her battle with cancer but her spirit lives on and I know that the angels in heaven have a beautiful new voice!  This one's for you Kathy... because we do have hope...

hugs...

I am so excited today to be posting a special Birthday Wish to Our Daily Bread designs owner, Kelley Holland! This is a very special birthday for Kelley, as it's the BIG 50!!! Some of us on the Design Teams have gotten together a Birthday Blog Hop for Kelley, and a special gift as well. We're so happy to have you join us on this hop... and we hope you will visit each post and leave a comment, because some of the DT members have BLOG CANDY hidden along the way!

You have until 8pm EDT Oct. 8th to leave a comment on each blog
The team members who have the candy will be drawing names from those who commented on their post, announcing it on the 10th of October!
There will also be an announcement here on the ODBD Blog on Oct 10, telling who had the blog candy and who were the chosen winners. You will need to check that post and notify the Design Team member within 48 hours if you won one of the candies!
So now.... here is the order for the hop:
