A Look Back at the March Release at ODBD

Good morning!  Welcome to a special look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' March Release.  Today, I have a Fun & Fancy Fold card, featuring the Tulip stamp set and coordinating Tulip Die.  For more inspiration using the March release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

So here is my project using a Flower Pot Card from the Fun & Fancy Fold card collection...

I custom cut DP from ODBD's Pastel Paper Pad for my pot and edging.  I used white card stock along with ODBD's Beautiful Borders Die for edging.  I stamped my sentiment (Tulip stamp set) on white card stock and framed it using the Mini Label Die set.  I stamped my image (Tulip stamp set) with Copic compatible ink on Neenah card stock.  I colored the images (3 sets) with Copics and die cut each with the coordinating Tulip Die.  I used the sentiment insert (which slips inside the flower pot pocket) to adhere my three colored tulip images to.  When you slip it back inside the "pot" it looks just like a fun spring bouquet!

Here are the items you see from this month's release...

and a few old favorites...

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing a bit of your day with us!  I hope you leave with a bit of inspiration for your week.  Don't forget to leave some love as you visit each designer's blog!

Merry Monday ~ A Flowerpot Card ~

Good morning!  Today, I have a flower pot card featuring some of the items from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I used ODBD's Flower Pot Card to create my card base, adding custom trimmed paper from the new Pastel Paper Pack and lace trim created with the Beautiful Borders Die set.  I lined the sentiment panel (which slides in the pot) with coordinating paper and stamped a lovely sentiment from the new Many Thanks stamp set.  I added a custom blossom created with ODBD's Pretty Posies Die.  I created all of these blossoms and leaves with white card stock and then colored the center of each blossom with a soft yellow distress die and the petals with a rich purple distress ink.  After each blossom dried, I spritzed it with water and then used a mouse pad, shaping tool and my fingers to shape and distress each blossom.  After they dried to the shape I wanted, I glued the desired layers together.  I have one larger blossom on the sentiment panel (which slides into the pot) and two smaller blossoms glued to the pot.  I added a few foliage sprigs from ODBD's Fancy Foliage Die.  I chose a simple sentiment from the Many Thanks stamp set and stamped it on the bottom corner.  A couple of DP scraps and this cute Easter Eggs Die helped create this two layer egg adorning the other corner.

Here is the card with the sentiment panel removed...

So here are the new items you see from this month's release...

Welcome to another fun release at Our Daily Bread Designs.  We have so many items to share including journaling stamps plus more dies!  I can't wait to show you a couple of projects I created using these new items.  But before we get started, you need to know we are having a blog hop.  And as we do most months, today three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store!  It can be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "ODBD stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until January 2, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. EST to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on January 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

But first you have to see some of these new items.  And if journaling hasn't caught your fancy yet and/or you don't feel comfortable stamping in a Bible...  there are MANY more ways to use them!  Check out all of the designers today to get some great ideas on how you can incorporate journaling stamps into your stash!

So here is my first project using ODBD's new Wishing Words stamp set...

I started with a soft cream card stock base, trimming two coordinating papers from the Blushing Rose Paper Collection and covering the seam with an ecru die cut from the Beautiful Borders Die set.  I stamped the sentiment (from the NEW Wishing Words set) on cream card stock and used the NEW Circles Die to cut and emboss it.  I added a hand crafted blossom (Paper Posies Die) with greenery from the beloved Fancy Foliage Die.
Here are the new items you see...

 and some old favorites...

Now on to one of the new journaling stamps...
Each year I purchase a planner to keep all of my personal and work appointments straight.  I use a phone for this task as well but I still like to see things in "writing."  I usually purchase a planner which a reading plan for my Bible.  That way I am sure to read the entire Bible in a year...  I can mark off assigned readings as I go through the year...

So I decided to pull out my 2016 planner...  go to July 4th and stamp this gem...  The Nation...
I used washi tape to mark the day as well and colored my images with twistable crayons...  I also added a bit of glitter glue to the stars...

No boring planner for me!  lol

So here's the journaling stamp used on this project...

and don't forget to check out all of the designers to play along with our hop AND get some fabulous ideas for using these stamps!  They aren't JUST for journaling!!!!

ODBD ~ Those Who Are Peacemakers ~

Good morning!  I hope you are having a wonderful week!  Things are a bit "drippy" here in Kentucky.  But I know the mums and other assorted flowers are loving it!  The down side...  the autumn foliage may just hit the ground early this year!  And there is nothing more depressing than seeing bare trees this time of year!  I sure would like to see a bit of autumn color before that happens!
I'm popping in to share a card using a few items from Our Daily Bread Designs'
September release.  It's hard to believe that October will be here TOMORROW!  YIKES!!!  But that means I get to share a fun new release with you!  So be sure to come back tomorrow to check it out!  And the BLOG HOP!!!!!
I wanted to take a moment to share a real life moment from earlier this week.  It appears the Lord has laid this incident on my heart and I want to share it with you.  I hope it gives you pause to reflect.  Check after today's card for my thought for the day...

But first, I will start with my card featuring ODBD's Pretty Posies Die and Plant a Garden stamp set.

And here's a close up of those fun blossoms...  I must admit...  I have spent entirely too much time lately getting inky with this new die set...  all of the flower were created with white card stock...  I inked each center with a soft butter color distress ink and the edges with a water color distress ink.  I spritzed each blossom lightly with water before manipulating to give them a bit of depth...

and the new items  you see today...

and some old favorites....
I used this one to emboss my card stock...

This one framed my sentiment...  along with a bit of softly sponged summer sky ink...

I used the tiny sun die to create the base for my flower "blossoms..."

Check out our sister company North Coast Creations
for other fun products for your projects including this die...

And of course some fun "dragonfly" DP....

So here is my thought for the day...

My husband and I recently went out to dinner.  We went to a pizza place we love.  While our server was waiting on us, another young man came by to take the adjoining tables' order.  Apparently they knew one another...  He asked what they would like to have and one of the customers made the remark that "you must really get some mean people in here..."  Not sure where that came from but...

At this point, I was intrigued and though I know it isn't polite to eavesdrop...  I wanted to see where this went....  particularly since I deal with customer service for a living.... It didn't take long for me to see where it was going.

"You can't believe how difficult people can be.  And do you know the worst day of the week?"  He asked.  "No, which one?" I heard the adjoining table say.  The server plowed right on.  "Sunday!  Yep, people are at their worst on Sunday."  Now the customer wades in.  "Yep, all those CHRISTIANS, right out of church....  They are the worst, I bet."

Thud, my heart dropped.  Our witness, my witness as one of "those" Christians was being undermined by those who won't practice what they preach.
So friends, my question to you today...

If someone who isn't a Christian were watching you...  would they want to be like you???  Would they see Christ in how you treat others???

Blessings....

ODBD ~ We Live By Faith ~

Good morning and welcome to my little corner of the world!  Today, I have a card using a few of the items from this month's release at Our Daily Bread Designs.  In just a few short days we will welcome another month and I want to share a few more cards featuring this release.

This time, I used the Boho Faith
set along with a few favorite dies...

I started with a dark green card stock base measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches with a slightly smaller white mat.  I pulled a stripe and dot pattern from my DP stash cutting both at an angle.  I affixed the stripe with dimensional foam and added a white die cut strip using ODBD's Beautiful Borders Die set with some white CS.  I stamped my image on white card stock with a fun mixed ink pad (giving it an ombre appearance) and used the coordinating die, Vintage Labels  to cut and emboss the edges.  I stamped the sentiment (also from the Boho Faith set) on white card stock and used ODBD's Pennants Die  to cut it out.  A flower spray highlighted with greenery from the Fancy Foliage Die set adorns the bottom.  What do you think of the color combo?  ;-)

Here are some of the items  you see...

and some of the other products...

Ink - Kaleidacolor - Caribbean Sea
Paper - Bazzill, Georgia Pacifc, We R Memory Keepers Farmers' Market
Flowers - Recollections, The Paper Studio

Thanks as always for stopping by!  Be sure to check back the next couple of days!  I have a few more projects to share from this release and TUESDAY marks a new release day!  It promises to be a busy week!

Blessings...

Welcome to Release Day at Our Daily Bread Designs!

I can't believe that August is here!  Soon the kiddos will be back in school.  This summer has positively flown by!  My Mom always told me time speeds up the older you get!  Guess our parents really do know best, right?

So a new month means a new release at Our Daily Bread Designs!  And you have a chance to hop along and play for a prize!  Complete details including what you could win are at the end of today's post.  First, I would like to share a couple of cards featuring some of the new products.

Card #1
with
Boho Faith, Faith, Hope & Love Die and the fabulous

I started with a soft aqua card stock base (5.5 x 4.25) and added a white CS mat.  I used the Boho Background Die to create the gold mat base and the teal lattice design.  I stamped my image from the Boho Faith (using an ombre ink) on white card stock and the complementary Vintage Labels Die.  I cut three word dies from the new Faith, Hope & Love Die and nested them on top of the image.  A bit of greenery (Fancy Foliage Die) with a fun blossom (Aster and Leaves Die) finish it off.

Now on to card #2
using Boho Love stamp set and the new Beautiful Boho Paper Collection

This time, I started with a rich orange CS base and added a bit of mulberry mat.  I used a bright paisley and link design from the new paper set, carefully distressing the edges before adding.  I stamped the image with a couple of ombre ink sets, an orange and pink set, before using the coordinating Ornate Hearts die to finish it off.  I stamped the sentiment on ecru card stock with the new Boho Love  set and used the older Mini Tags Die set to cut it out.  I attached it to a bit of custom dyed seam binding and tucked an ecru lace die cut Beautiful Borders Die behind it.

So here are the new items you see today...

and some older sets
