~ Quilting Friends are the Best! ~

Good morning!  The weather is a bit dreary here.  I keep reminding myself that April showers bring May flowers.  I can't wait to see some of my late spring favorites come into bloom...  the iris, peonies and cabbage rose...  And speaking of my Grandmother's cabbage rose...  here is a fun card I made in almost the exact shade of rich pink!

I started with a white card stock base cut at 4.25 inches x 11 inches, scoring and folding at 5.5 inches
I added a rich raspberry mat featuring Boho Bolds Paper Pad
White Card Stock - ODBD - Leafy Edged Borders Die - create the lace edging
White Card Stock and ODBD's Beautiful Boho Paper Collection die cut with ODBD's
Sentiment - Memento's Rose Bud ink - ODBD's Quilting Friends and Family stamp set
White Card Stock - Sentiment Panel - ODBD Stitched Ovals Die

Here are some of the items you see used on today's project...

Thanks again for stopping by!  Until next time...  blessings!!

Mid Month Bonus Die Release at Our Daily Bread Designs

There is a certain serendipity in the little surprises in life.  Like when the person in front of you at the fast food drive thru pays for your coffee or when a thoughtful motorist stops and lets you cross the parking lot.  It's the simple things that bring a smile to your face and thankfulness to your heart.  Today, Our Daily Bread Designs has pulled together a collection of dies as a special mid month release.  And I have a couple of projects to share featuring them.

First a special Lily Die that coordinates with the lovely Beauty stamp set.

I started with a card stock base measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  I cut a light mint DP for the base from ODBD's Pastel Paper Collection and used the Flourished Star Pattern Die with white card stock for the next layer.  ODBD's Double Stitched Rectangles Die set and polka dot DP from the Pastel Paper Collection create the final layer.  I added a sentiment layer and mat using the Stitched Ovals Die.  I chose my sentiment (stamped with Versafine Onyx Black) from ODBD's February stamp set, Many Thanks.  I stamped the image (ODBD's Beauty) on Copic compatible paper and after coloring used the NEW coordinating Lily Die to cut it out.  I added a bit of foliage (Fancy Foliage Die) along with a pearl flourish.

So here is the new die...

which coordinates with this set...

And I used this February release for my sentiment...

And here is a fun tag I created using the new Lily Die and

I used the Tag Trio Die to create a polka dot tag and added a white card stock frilly tag also created with this set.  I used ODBD's With Much Thanks stamp set for the sentiment and added another colored image (Beauty) to the bottom.  A bit of seam binding helps me tie it all together and adorn the gift.

Here are the new items you see...

And here are some of the old favorites you see on my projects today...

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out the Our Daily Bread Designs site to see what new mid month items are available!

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' Mid Month Release

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' October Mid-Month Release.  Here is the card I created using Everlasting Light and Christmas Candles Die.  For more inspiration using the October Mid-Month Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.  So for this card I decided to go with a silver and white color scheme...

I started with a white card stock base and added a silver poster board mat created with ODBD's Flourished Star Pattern Die and slightly smaller white card stock layer.  I added a bit of DP from the Winter Paper Collection trimmed with the Leafy Edged Borders Die.  I stamped my sentiment (from the ODBD mid-month release, Everlasting Light) on white card stock with silver ink.  I then cut and embossed the panel with the Stitched Ovals Die.  I took a bit of silver PB and used the new Christmas Candles Die with a bit of dimensional foam to create a bit of depth in the corner.  So here are the mid-month items you see...

and some old favorites...

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to visit my design team sisters to see what they have created with this month's mid-month release.  Blessings...

So let's go straight to card number #1
featuring the new Beauty
stamp set AND the new Leafy Edged Borders Die...

I started with a rich raspberry card stock base (4.5 x 5 inches) and added a white card stock mat.  I used the new Leafy Edged Borders Die  to cut my white lace layer, silver poster board layer and designer paper over lay.  I stamped my image with Memento Ink on Copic compatible paper and colored it to resemble a stargazer lily.  I fussy cut the image after completing it and nestled it on top of a white die cut panel (created with the Stitched Ovals
die) along with greenery from the Fancy Foliage Die.  I stamped my sentiment with a rich raspberry
ink on white card stock and hand cut the panel to create a banner.  I tucked a pearl spray along with a few random pearls on the edge.

And now for my second card using Plant a Garden...

Here, I started with a brown card stock base also measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  I then chose a plank like designer paper from Our Daily Bread Designs' Rustic Beauty Paper Collection.
I elected to cut strips of the paper and adhere it to my base as if it were a true fence...  going so far as to add a z shaped brace with dimensional foam on top.  I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper (Plant a Garden) and colored it with Copics.  I lightly sponged on Memento's Olive Grove ink on the bottom and Summer Sky on top to mimic the sky.  I created the flower spray with the new Pretty Posies Die.
I cut flower layers and leaves with white card stock and colored each with distress ink.  I spritzed them lightly with water and shaped them with a stylus and mouse pad.  I used an older die Sunburst Background Die,
to created the base for the flower "buds" you see...

So here are the new items you see for this special mid month release...

NCC ~ We Scream for Ice Cream ~

I don't believe a truer statement has ever been spoken!  You see,  I am an equal opportunity connoisseur of ice cream!  Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla, Butter Pecan...  doesn't make a difference!  And if my choice that day should be vanilla...  I might opt for chocolate sauce, caramel coating or sprinkles.  It is almost overwhelming...  OK...  maybe not!  My absolute favorite???  Chocolate, Peanut Butter...  I think I had a big bowl of it on my mind when I colored this image from
  Ice Cream set...

and here is the fun Ice Cream
set... completely calorie free  :-)

I started with an ecru card stock base measuring 5.5 by 4.25 inches.  I added a bit of dark chocolate CS matting with some fun DP from ODBD's Vintage Ephemera Paper Collection,  I also pulled out an ODBD die, Beautiful Borders for the ecru edging.  Our Daily Bread Designs' Antique Labels and Borders Die creates a rich base for Our Daily Bread Designs' Stitched Ovals Die shown here...

STITCHED OVALS DIES - CBD113

I hope you enjoyed stopping by for a bit today.  Here's hoping you have a wonderful Friday!
