WAW82 & MOJO295 ~ Proverbs 14:26 ~

Good morning and welcome to another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Pink Persimmon Stamps and Scripture by Design for sponsoring this week's challenge!

I based this week's card on a sketch using coordinating DP by Bo Bunny...

I printed this week's scripture on a piece of DP and matted it with black card stock.  The central die is a quatrefoil die I received from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I didn't know there was such an interesting story behind quatrefoils and their connection to Christianity!  Super cool!  I added a die cut flourish and a spray of blossoms from my collection.  I elected to add a bit of paper punched greenery and a cream pearl flourish cut placed strategically for visual appeal.  I tucked a bit of paper punched paper behind the die as well for a bit of interest.  It reminds me of iron railing.  I love putting those type of elements with flowers!  It's one of my favorite combos!

Thanks so much for stopping in!

 Until next time...  blessings....

Cardabilities 75 ~ Tranquility ~

It's time to work on a sketch!  And I chose to go with this week's Cardabilities' Sketch.  I pulled out a few recent releases from Our Daily Bread Designs to showcase a nautical theme.

I chose to stamp my image with a sepia ink on a Kraft tag.  I added a fun border from Our Daily Bread Designs' new Cathedral Window and Border Die shown here...

The image and sentiment come from Our Daily Bread Designs' Fishing and The Waves on the Sea
sets.

I just love the manly feel of this one!  Thanks for stopping in!  Until next time...  blessings...

Word Art Wednesday ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:3 ~

Good morning and welcome to another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to V's Sweet Ideas  for sponsoring this week's challenge!

This has been a challenging week physically and emotionally at the Ulrich house.  Mr. Graves (Graves Disease) has kicked into high gear again and I am awaiting test results to determine the course of action.  I covet your continued prayers as we deal with this and decide what my physicians will do.  I know the Great Physician can heal anything as long as it is in His will....  My dear, sweet husband will be going through surgery as well in the coming month.  (We are just a mess...  lol...)  Please remember us both.

I do want to share a praise!  God allowed His most tender mercies this week.  I was physically unable to make anything...  frustrating to say the least!  My team member and prayer warrior, Karen, took time to lift up my problems and God answered!  I was able to put something together after struggling so mightily to even get off the couch!  Praise be to God!  He always provides!  So here it is using a wonderfully appropriate scripture from 2 Thessalonians...

I opted to use this week's Mojo Sketch for my inspiration with some coordinating papers by American Crafts.  I printed the verse directly on DP trimming and matting it with Kraft paper.  A seam binding bow and wooden button add to the rustic feel.  The papers remind me of a beautiful quilt in Grandmother's trunk.  So pretty!  Thanks for stopping in and until next time...  Blessings...

Here are a couple of cards I created using the new What's the Scoop    set....

Card # 2...

and the adorable stamp set...

I used a dimensional glaze for my second card to give my vanilla cone a little shine.  And the ice cream scoop (card number 1) got a dose of stickles...   Both images were fussy cut and hand pieced.  I think it adds so much depth!  I even added a bit of glaze to the cherry!  I just love this set!  I will be using this one a great deal this summer...  ice cream socials...  picnic invites...  birthdays....  thank you cards...  WHEW!!!  You can get a great deal of mileage out of these!  Thanks for stopping by...  Don't forget to check out my sister Coasters and their great creations AND make sure to leave a comment at each stop to be in our drawing!!!  ;-)

WAW80 ~ Isaiah 40:29 ~

Good morning and welcome to another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Heart & Soul Rubber Stamps  and Digi Darla's  for sponsoring this week's challenge.

Here's a clean and simple card I created this week using a wonderfully uplifting verse from the book of Isaiah.  I struggle with simple cards and this particular verse gave me courage...

I opted to go with a Kraft base, a light olive card stock and white distressed scripture base.  I printed this week's scripture directly on the white card stock panel and embellished it with a die cut branch and hand crafted dogwood blossom.  I think the scripture says it all, don't you?  Thanks for stopping in and until next time...

Blessings...

MOJO292 ~ Happy Father's Day ~

Happy Saturday morning to ya!  Mother's Day is almost upon us and I find myself creating Father's Day cards???
I wish I could say I'm ahead...  but the fact is... I'm not!!!  **sigh**

Today's card features the MOJO Monday  sketch and a new stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs .  The card has a decidedly masculine feel and I even tried my hand at a sailor's knot...  they are not nearly as complicated as they look!  Whew!!!  So here's the card...

and the stamp set,

I chose a cream colored card stock for my base and added a layer of distressed Kraft.  The DPs are from a coordinating set...  (love when the paper takes the guess work out of it...)  I used Our Daily Bread Designs' Spellbinder custom die, Cathedral Window & Border Die  (the border die) to cover the seam between the two DPs.

A small Spellbinder die provided the circle die which I topped with a nautical charm and sailor's knot.  I placed the Kraft tag and other Kraft panel side by side before stamping my image.  Then I removed the smaller piece and matted it with a bit of the cream colored CS.  Another bit of this same CS provides my sentiment panel.  I stamped both the image and sentiment with a rich brown ink...  kinda reminds me of an old treasure map!

Thanks as always for stopping by...  until next time...  Blessings....

Cardabilities #74 ~ Fishers of Men ~

Welcome!  So very glad you chose to spend a few moments with me today!  The weather is a bit "damp" here in Kentucky but the scenery is "lush" as a result of God's blessings.  The rain has made for a beautiful spring in Kentucky!  This week the dogwoods are particularly beautiful!  And in honor of their appearance, I created a paper "dogwood" to add to my card design.  This card is based on a Cardabilities  sketch.

I embossed the scripture sentiment with a gold embossing powder.  For this project I chose Our Daily Bread Designs' The Waves on the Sea.

and the sketch...  (I choose to flip it...)

Thanks as always for stopping by!  Blessings...

Good morning and welcome to another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Fred, She Said and My Creative Classroom for sponsoring this week's challenge.

This week we are inspired by those wonderful and Godly women in our lives, whether they gave us life, mentored us spiritually or BOTH!  How many of you know some wonderful Proverbs' 31 ladies?  Let's hear it for the women who helped mold and shape us!!!

Here's my card featuring this week's verse, Proverbs 31:10...

I found this fabulous tutorial on how to create a sunburst pattern out of scraps at Operation Write Home.  This organization takes homemade cards and distributes them to soldiers who then send them to friends or family.  It's a wonderful cause!  If you have a chance to check them out please do!  Plus they have some awesome tutorials...    This tutorial is perfect for using up all those leftovers you having lying around.  I used some from a project last week!

Thanks for stopping by and as always, blessings!

QFTD163 ~ A Die With a View ~

Today's card is for the weekly Queen For the Day challenge at Splitcoaststampers .  This week's featured stamper is Peggy, aka jasonw1.  For those of you who hang out at SCS, you are familiar with not only her beautiful work but her beautiful heart.  Peggy never fails to leave me words of encouragement and joy.
{{Big hugs Peggy}}}

For the Queen...

featuring Our Daily Bread Designs' Cathedral Window Marble stamp ...

and Spellbinder Custom Die for Our Daily Bread Designs, Cathedral Window & Border Die .

I chose to emboss the stamped image this time with Pewter embossing powder before layering.  If you look closely, you will see a tiny bit of Diamond Stickles in the center of each "pane."  The entire image was layered on a base created with Spellbinders for a bit of added "frilliness."  A few pearls added here and there complement the look.  So what do you think?

I hope Queen Peggy likes it!  Thanks for stopping in!  Until next time...

Blessings...

MOJO291 & SGC68 ~ Your Path ~

Finally!  Friday is here!  Woot woot!  I hope you and yours are looking forward to an awesome and relaxing weekend!  Things will be busy here at the Ulrich household.  I have several little chores to do Saturday and I hope to sneak off with my hubs for a little birthday lunch!  John is another year older today!  (Big wave honey!!!)  He is a wonderful blessing and I thank God each and every day for him.

In the spirit of "manly" cards and a few challenges, I broke out the new Our Daily Bread Designs release, Fishing ...

and a photo of this fabulous set...  it is SO versatile...

I based this on the weekly MOJO Monday sketch using coordinating DPs, kraft and some white card stock.  Becca's Peg Bow Maker made easy work of the seam binding where I added a tiny sailboat charm (thanks to my dear friend Sabrina) with a bit of glue.  I double matted everything...  white and then kraft....  The base is a soft blue card stock...  The sketch...

Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Friday!  Hugs!!

Cathedral Window - Marble

Cathedral Window and Border Dies

I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored each panel to resemble stained glass.  I hand cut the final image out and added a bit of Glossy Accents dimensional glue to mimic glass.  I then cut my die out using black card stock for both a base and window trim.  I cut another window, cutting out a section of three "panes" and backed it with black card stock to create my window box.  The base is white card stock, embossed with a brick EF and lightly distressed with gray ink to mimic old mortar.  Dies and punches create the remaining vine, flowers and greenery.  Thanks for stopping in!

From here you will hop to visit the ever sweet and delightful Sabrina's blog
