ODBD ~ His Mercy Rains ~

And aren't we glad His mercy rains?  Without His mercy, we would be lost.  Its difficult to keep proper perspective sometimes.  With the chaos of life (do I hear an Amen or two), we can forget just how blessed we are.  I am humbled to know that He sent his son to die for my sins.  I imagine someday that God will show me the "highlights" of my life and I will find myself woefully short.  I imagine that I will fall to my knees in shame and regret.  It is at that moment that Jesus will step forward and say, "Father, her sins are paid for.  I took the punishment in her place."  It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.  Thank God, our Savior, MY Savior shed His blood for me.  His mercy does indeed rain!

Blessings...

ODBD ~ Tis Grace ~

Good morning!  So glad you could stop by for a few moments!  Today I have a card to share using Our Daily Bread Designs' recent stamp release, How Sweet the Sound.  I highlighted the sentiment with some new lacey squares complements of ODBD's Layered Lacey Squares Die.

I started with an ecru card stock base (5.5 x 4.25 inches) and added a slightly smaller aqua mat.  I chose a DP watercolor print and added a band of matching bohemian DP edged with die cut lace (Beautiful Borders Die) and a bit of vanilla hued seam binding.  I stamped the sentiment on ecru card stock with an ombre ink pad and used the new Layered Lacey Squares Die to frame it and a coordinating die from the same set to cut out a lovely gold base (from gold poster board).  The new Umbrellas Die adds a touch of whimsy in the corner.  The umbrellas consists of an aqua CS base with coordinating DP and ecru "sections."

So here are the items you see today...

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' April Release

Welcome friends!  I'm so glad you could join us today for a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs'  April release.  As I type this post, rain is covering the Bluegrass state.  I pray that what they say about April showers bringing May flower is true!  Hopefully, they will be nice and pretty just in time for Derby day!  In the meantime, while we wait on those lovely blossoms to make their appearance, we can appease ourselves with lovely paper posies.  Here is the card I created for our look back using the new How Sweet the Sound stamp set along with a couple of new dies, Layered Lacey Squares and Umbrellas.  There are a host of other ODBD products you see here also.  You can find a complete list at the bottom of today's post.  For more inspiration using the April Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.  But before you peruse all of the Sister Sticks projects, take a look at this shabby creation...

I started with a 5.25 x 5.25 sage green card stock base and added a slightly smaller white CS (card stock) mat.  I selected a couple of soft and shabby papers from ODBD's Shabby Rose Paper Collection  and added just a hint of distress ink around the edges.  After layering those together, I pulled out my ODBD die, Beautiful Borders, to create the faux lace with white card stock.  I added a beautiful die from the new Layered Lacey Squares Die on the left hand side and layered up a die cut umbrella (Umbrellas Die) with Kraft paper and some Shabby Rose scraps.  I added a few springs of greenery and branches (Fancy Foliage Die) and a lovely blossom created with the Asters and Leaves Die.  A large adhesive backed pearl graces the center along with a fun pearl flourish strategically placed among the foliage.  I stamped the sentiment (How Sweet the Sound) in a soft sage ink on white card stock and used ODBD's Pennant Die to frame it.  A few random pearls on the faux lace finish this gem off!

I just love soft and shabby!

~ Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining ~

Good morning and welcome!  The weather has turned ever so cooler in our little corner of the world.  Thankfully, we have not had the severe storms that other parts of the country have had.  Other than a hail storm earlier in the week, it has been fairly quiet.

Today's project features a lovely phrase from Our Daily Bread Designs' April release, Shower of Blessings.  I have been in a reflective mood the last few days.  Maybe it has been the uncertainty of the weather.  Maybe it is the visible change in the landscape.  I have thought about some of those unexpected changes in my life...  loss of loved ones, job changes, unexpected illness...  Each and every time, there was a blessing just around the corner.  Sometimes it came in the middle of the storm...  sometimes it came immediately after...  sometimes it came after some time had passed...  BUT IT DID COME!  Every dark moment is followed by an equally sunny moment...  It is my prayer that you find that silver lining as well...

Today's card...

I started with a white 5.5 x 4.25 card stock base and added a gray matting.  I embossed a final white layer and adhered it to the top.  I stamped my sentiment (Shower of Blessings) with Versamark on black card stock and heat embossed silver powder on it.  I cut the bannet out by hand and custom trimmed a gray layer to place underneath.  I used ODBD's Circle Ornaments Die to create the round portion of my "sun."  I added rays created with ODBD's Matting Circles Die.

Here are the products you see..

WAW177 ~ Psalm 126:3 ~

I love it when we visit the book of Psalms.  This week we have a passage from the 126th chapter to share...

Sometimes in the midst of life's everyday struggles, it is easy to lose sight of just what our Lord and Savior has done for us.  I am more guilty than most.  When times are tough and physical ailments challenge me, it is easy to lose sight of the promise.  I read a passage in a book this weekend that brought this home to me.  A character was talking about why people suffer physical ailments, particularly those that end in death.  Another character offered this thought...  God isn't glorified through the simple things...  He is glorified when those suffering praise him at the point when others would give up.

I guess my take away is this....  it's easy to praise the Lord when things are going perfectly and it is much harder to praise Him when things are not.  But it is those times, when our praises pack the most punch...  for our Father and those who witness our walk.

Blessings...

A Look Back at North Coast Creations' March Release

Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations March release.  I have a couple of projects today featuring What's Brewing'? and Warm My Heart .  For more inspiration using the March Release be sure to visit the NCC Blog.

I stamped the cup image on Copic paper and lightly colored it with Copics.  I stamped the sentiment with a rich cocoa ink and hand cut it.  I added it to the image with dimensional foam.  Here are the two sets I used...

I loved the What's Brewin'? set so much
I pulled out a sentiment and stamped it
with a lovely olive ink on this die cut doily.

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' April Release and Blog Hop!

April here we come!  Are you as excited about warmer weather as I am?  April showers certainly bring May flowers and we have some wonderful sets to showcase today with that very theme in mind!  Don't forget to play along and comment at each one of the stops on today's hop.  Why, you ask?  Because, three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until April 2, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on April 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

I have a couple of projects to share today.  My first is a step card featuring the new die, Layered Lacey Squares and How Great Thou Art stamp set...

I created the step card base with white card stock and matted the upper sections with navy CS.  A bit of DP from the Christian Faith Paper Collection adorns the side and center panel.  I stamped the sentiment (the new How Great Thou Art set) in blue ink and die cut/framed it with the new Layered Lacey Squares Die.  If you look closely, there are actually three layers to the panel I created.  You will love this die...  it is SO versatile!

I adhered the sentiment panel to the middle and cut out some white flowers (Asters and Leaves Die) and foliage Fancy Foliage Die.  I added a tiny sentiment and label die created with a few older items (Mini Tags Die and Mini Tag Sentiments).  The final touch...  a few black microbeads for the flower centers...

Here's a close up!

I think I got a bit ahead of myself.  Didn't I say April Showers bring May flowers?  Take a look at this new stamp set, Shower of BlessingsUmbrellas Die and Cloud and Raindrops Die.

I started with a white card stock base, Kraft mat and beautiful DP from ODBD's Shabby Rose Paper Collection.  I added the die cut umbrella (paper pieced with Shabby Rose Paper leftovers), baker's twine bow and tiny hearts.  And what about those clouds?  Aren't they cute???  I stamped the sentiment directly on the paper panel with a rich cocoa ink.

So here are the new items you see today...
