~ ODBD Fancy Fan Die ~

It is hard to believe that April is drawing to a close.  As I write this post, the daytime temp has dropped to a crazy 57 degrees.  In just a few days, the weather forecast calls for a balmy 87 degrees!  Seriously???  It is no wonder that respiratory illnesses are EVERYWHERE!  Springtime in the Bluegrass state can bring a variety of weather events...  we have had snow on or close to Easter...  nearly 90 degree temps for high school graduations...  wild and crazy spring storms....  It's kind of like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates...  So with the weather fluctuating so wildly, it is easy to change your creative mood!  Today, I have a soft color palette featuring blue and white PLUS a few items from Our Daily Bread Designs' April release.  The May release is just around the corner, so don't forget to pop back by on May 1st to see what new items I have to share!  But in the meantime, let's go back and revisit the pastel shades of spring...

Isn't that a darling sentiment panel in the middle?  What is so cool about this is the die I used...  Fancy Fan Die.  Now, you could use this to create a traditional fan design like the one I did earlier this month shown HERE.  However, I chose this time to use two individual die cuts, overlapped and stamped, to create a sort of band around the card.  The base is a simple white card stock gate fold base with a slightly smaller DP mat (created with ODBD's Boho Bolds Paper Pad) AND a lattice layer created with ODBD's Lattice Background Die.  I added a soft blue DP die cut (also from the Boho Bolds Paper Pad collection) die cut as a focal panel with the Pierced Ovals Die set.  I created the flowers using the Aster Dies set and softly sponged them with light blue ink before lightly misting each layer with water and shaping to the desired look.  I added a bit of foliage using the Lovely Leaves Die set.

So here are the April items you see...

and a few old favorites...

Don't forget to stop back by on May 1st for the chance to join our new release blog hop!  It promises to be fun!  Thanks again for your time!

~ Always ~

Good morning!  Today, I am sharing a card created with Our Daily Bread Designs'  To My Friend stamp set, Roses DieRose Leaves Die and Lattice Background Die.  I used one color card stock, white. I spritzed a bit of glitter spray on the rose and leaves after molding and before placing on the card.  I started with a white card stock base (4.25 x 5.5 inches).  I created the frame to place over the Lattice Background Die with two nested dies from ODBD's Pierced Rectangles Die.  I cut the various petals before spritzing with water and molding to create the blossom.  I chose black ink for the sentiment and framed the message with another die from the Pierced Rectangles Die set.

Here are the items you see used here...

A Look Back at ODBD's April Release

Good morning and welcome to a special look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' April Release.
For this project, I used the Luminous Lantern DieRose DieRose Leaves Die and Lovely Flower stamp set...For more inspiration using the April Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.  And check the end of today's post for links to all of the DT members.  Take a peek at some of the items they created with the April release.

You see a few old favorites as well...

I covered each of the 5 panels with die cut vellum using ODBD's Rectangles Die and the green vines were created with the Fancy Foliage Die.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and used the Pennant Flags Die cut down to fit the front panel.  A bit of scrap seam binding was woven and tied on top...

The Road

Have you ever wondered why getting to a destination seems to take so much longer than the return trip home?  Maybe, it is the anticipation of sleeping in your own bed...  getting clothing out of your own furniture... or the familiarity and order of the things in your home.  You don't have to go on a seek and find mission to find the coffee maker.  You don't have to unpack and hang up clothes in a strange closet.  You don't have to worry whether you might have a hair dryer, ironing board and iron.  There is continuity, a certain sameness to the routine and the items that surround me.  An order, if you will, that allows me to feel comfortable...  at home.  Over the years, I have befriended people who offered the same comfort and familiarity.  I know I can stop by their home, dial their number or see them out and about and we can take up where we last left off.  The road to their house is never long...   you just have to find it again...

Blessings...

Today's card features a few new items from Our Daily Bread Designs
including the To My Friend stamp set...

and the set...

I chose a clean and simple design for this one.  I started with a white card stock base and cut a slightly smaller aqua CS mat.  I used ODBD's Pierced Rectangles Die to created the sentiment and image panel.  I stamped both images with a soft aqua and olive green ink before adding the sentiment in black.  It may be a cleaner sample than I normally do.  But sometimes you need a cleaner outlook!  TFL!

Welcoming Spring with Our Daily Bread Designs' Latest Release

April is finally here!  I know that the first day of April is normally a day of pranks and shenanigans.  You can be assured that I am not pulling your leg when I say Our Daily Bread Designs has a new release and Blog hop starting today!  This release features more lovely dies and a few new stamp sets as well!  And if admiring my design team sisters' projects isn't enough, three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 Gift Code to the ODBD Website  just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until April 2, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on April 3rd so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

So now I have a couple of projects to share.  The first features the new Luminous Lantern DieRoses DieRose Leaves Die and To My Friend stamp set...

I started with white card stock and used the new Luminous Lantern Die to create a four paneled lantern.  The best part of this die...  there are two separates bases you can use to create  your lantern...  a square base (shown here) and a pentagon base (which creates 5 sides.)  I used the insert panel on the front and top panel to create the open fretwork.  The remaining panels were cut not using the insert.  You can fold the tabs in on top and loop a flexible ribbon ( I used seam binding) and tie it closed.  I plan on putting a battery operated tea light in the base.  I rose was created with white card stock and the new Roses Die.  After cutting my petals, I colored then with a prawn distress ink, spritzed them with water and shaped the layers.  Once they were dried, I glued them together and shaped the outer petals again.  I added some leaves (created with white CS, grass distress ink AND the coordinating Rose Leaves Die.  I added a bit of greenery using an old favorite, Fancy Foliage Die.  The sentiment (To My Friend stamp set) was stamped on white card stock and framed with another old favorite, Ornate Ovals Die.

Here are the new items you see...

Now for a easel card featuring the new Lovely Flowers stamp set
and Fancy Fan Die

I chose a soft turquoise and kelp colored CS for my layers, adding a bit of DP from the Blooming Garden Paper Collection.  A couple of strategically placed flat backed pearls serve to hold up my easel.  I stamped my sentiments and borders (Lovely Flowers stamp set)
on white card stock and die cut with the new Fancy Fan Die.

and the new items you see here...

and some old favorites  you see on today's projects...
