RS39 ~ More Christmas Blessings ~

I must apologize in advance.  I KNOW this must be the gazillionth Christmas card I've done as of late.  But I just can't stop myself!  And even though my tree isn't up and my house remains almost entirely devoid of decorations (how did that happen?) I continue to crank out holiday cards.   (Maybe I need to stop creating cards and starting putting my tree up...)

Here's another one based on last week's Retro Sketch...

and the sketch...

Another nontraditional color palette... kraft, blue and pink... Isn't it yummy? If you look closely one little corner of blue paper is peeking! Thinking that tree may not make it up for a while... ;-)

Until next time... blessings...

DS78 ~ A Christmas Sketch ~

Good morning!  We are officially mid week!  And before you know it, the first of December will be here!  That means new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs.  ***And they are DARLING!***  Can't wait for you to see the new items Kelley and company have in store...

So in the meantime, I have a wonderful classic ODBD set, Christmas Blessings to share along with a Deconstructed Sketch challenge...

Here's the card...

and the Deconstructed Sketch...

I actually pulled out my old Coluzzle for this project. I also used a Scor-Pal to score the lines on the DP. It gives it a bead board feel... I couldn't resist the gingham even though it isn't really traditional...  But why not mix it up a bit, right?

As always I hope you have a wonderful day and until next time... Blessings...

ODBDSLC132 ~ Deck the Halls ~

It is time for another Our Daily Bread Designs' Shining the Light Challenge!

Its time to pull out those boxes of tinsel, garland and ornaments.  So while you are in the mood to decorate with beautiful ornaments...  we want to see projects that feature an
ornament or something that hangs!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, December 2nd at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC132. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

This time my tent card features a hanging sentiment panel/ornament...

Featuring one of Our Daily Bread Designs' newest releases...  Chickadee Ornament...

For this project I opted to create a tent card.  I stamped the ornament on Copic compatible paper, colored the image and hand cut the image with scissors.  I punched a hole in the top of the ornament and the card and put them together with gold wire.  In the bottom, I nestled some die cut branches and a bit of snow (aka torn cotton balls for interest.)  Look closely and you will see the two little chickadees have been cut out and added with dimensional foam for added interest!  So fun!

Make sure to stop by and visit my sister sticks! They have some wonderful creations to share! And don't forget to leave them some love!

Faith and Chalkboard Art

Happy Cyber Monday!  Today vow NOT to visit online retailers and make Christmas cards instead!  You will save yourself some money PLUS get a jump on all of your card making!  ;-)

I'm popping in today to share a fun card I made mimicking fun chalkboard art I found on Pinterest.  The goal...  to stamp miscellaneous images on black card stock and make it look like a chalkboard.  ***not as easy as it may sound...  lol***

Here's my finished product...

featuring Faith...

and Seed Packet...

I cut a panel from plain black card stock (with ZERO texture) and used my X-Static (which helps with stray embossing powder) before stamping the first sentiment (Faith) with Versamark.  I added embossing powder, taking care to shake off the excess and return it to the container.  At this point, I DID NOT heat emboss.  Next, I stamped the Fleur de Lis image with my watermark ink and added embossing powder.  I then removed all the excess by shaking the panel over a plain piece of paper.  Finally, I added the last scripture with watermark ink and added embossing powder.  After shaking off the excess, I added heat to the entire project.  I then stamped each sentiment/image with Brilliance Moonlight White ink.  You want to stamp slightly off center to add a bit of shadow.  I then used a white colored pencil and created lines around the edge and slightly inked everything else with the white ink.  Take care, a little goes a long way!  You just want it to resemble chalk dust.  A few die cut holly leaves and rhinestone berries finish it off!  Definitely a keeper!  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...  blessings...

Indeed it is!  Thanks so much for stopping by today dear friend.  I feel certain that your day has been a busy one and it makes me smile to know you chose to spend a bit of it with me.

Today we celebrate a milestone.  My dear Mother was able to return to church with us after a LONG recovery from her recent fall and surgery.  God has indeed been merciful and we celebrate this milestone in her recovery!

I popped in to share a card based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch...

Clearly Digital Stamps ~ Christmas Blessings

Thanksgiving is officially a memory!  We had a wonderful time this year enjoying one anothers company and reflecting on all of the blessings God has given us.  It amazes me to think just how fortunate I am!  And it humbles me to know just how little I deserve!  It is only through His grace that we have hope.

So it is my sincere wish this holiday season to not get so caught up in the hustle and bustle.  My desire is to not only hear that small, still voice but to act upon it...  to remember my Savior is near.  For without that voice, I would be truly without hope.  Until next time...

Blessings....

Today's card features a plethora of lovely distressed and inked layers. If you look closely you will even see some paper piercing! (something I rarely do...) The poinsettia is a lovely die cut image by Spellbinders with a bit of watered down paint splattered on with my old tooth brush... kinda looks like those jingle bell poinsettias I so dearly love! :-)

MOJO267, TSTR140 & WAW54 ~ Pastel Christmas ~

Happy Friday!  The weekend is almost here!  This weekend will be a busy one at the Ulrich household!  With Thanksgiving coming up, I will be shopping, cleaning and trying to cook some items in advance.  Sound familiar?

I am so very thankful for the many blessings I have received this year.  As many of you know, my mom fell this summer and suffered a broken ankle.  It was a nasty break.  Wednesday, she finally was able to leave her boot behind and walk with the aid of a walker!  Praise God!  I am so very thankful to see her mobile again and healthy!

The last few weeks I have been working on Christmas cards and I have a nontraditional one to share today...  pastels...  What do you think?

And the Our Daily Bread Designs set I used... Christmas Door...

Love the pink, blue and white combo! I may have to try that one again! Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

Clear Dollar Stamps November Digital Release

Welcome to the November digital release for

This month, I am working with more fun and NEW images from Clearly Digital Stamps (by Clear Dollar Stamps). So let's hop in and take a look at these delightful images.

Everyone needs a little chocolate in their life! And for this confessed chocolate addict the set called Chocoholic is just the ticket...  Is it the golden ticket??  :-)

Hard to believe that Christmas is almost here!  And with the number of Christmas cards I need to make, it can be a little, shall I say "stressful?" So when I saw this colored/non-colored set, Simple Gifts, I knew this would make card making a breeze...

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to visit the other DT members to see all of the exciting releases this month! Hugs and blessings...

Exploring Cricut ~ A Christmas Notecard ~

Happy Friday and welcome to another fun project for Exploring Cricut!

I realize that Thanksgiving is still a few weeks away, but in order to get an adequate number of Christmas cards done...  I have to start EARLY!  Today's project is a simple note card using one of my new favorite cartridges, A Quilted Christmas.

This cart has a TON of card base ideas! I opted to used the card base shown on page 74 cut at 5 inches (red CS). I then cut the shadow in white. The reindeer may be found on page 64. There is another standing fellow but I kinda like this leaping guy... He is cut at 4.5 inches using the Deer2, Layer 3 and assorted accessory cuts. I added a bit of dimensional foam to make him pop off the page and a rhinestone flourish bit leftover from another project. Super easy!

Thanks as always for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

Exploring Cricut ~ Saluting Our Veterans ~

Welcome to another fun challenge at Exploring Cricut!

This rotation we want to honor our veterans!

After all, Veteran's Day is quickly approaching and there is no more deserving group to celebrate!

For today's project I used Alphalicous cuts (3 inches - Thank You) and Autumn Celebrations (5 inches - Bugle Boy).

I chose to create a Marine in Summer dress whites. I am a bit prejudiced as my Dad was a Marine serving during the Korean conflict. Even though my Dad passed away several years ago, I know a gentleman who will love this card! Make sure to thank a veteran on November 11th! And thank them for the blessings of living in a free country!  Many paid the ultimate price.  Hugs...

Thanks Dad! I love and miss you.

CDS ~ Times of Trial ~

Welcome!  Thank you for stopping by.

Today I am sharing a card I created with digital images from Clearly Digital Stamps.  I printed a script circle (Leaves) on white card stock and modified the ink color before printing.  I cut/embossed the circle and added a die cut maple leaf in the center for interest.  I'm hoping to add a few more clean and simple cards to my stash as the holidays approach.  Pretty soon it will be time to gear up for Christmas cards!  ACK!!!  Let me just start hyperventilating now!  :-)

And here's my card of encouragement celebrating the textures and colors of fall...

Hope you and yours are having a wonderful day! Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow and Friday for Exploring Cricut projects. Tuesday I will have a new Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge to share. Plus Thursday, the Alumni team at ODBD will be hosting another blog hop! And if all goes well, I hope to share a fun tutorial this week featuring floor wax AND a stamped image... Now you gotta come back for that one! Blessings...

Our Daily Bread Designs November Release Blog Hop!

Hello friends! Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs November Release Blog Hop! If you got here from Silke’s blog, you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start at the ODBD Blog so you don’t miss a thing!
The hop will run from 8am EDT Nov 1 until 8pm EDT Nov 2.  Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog November 3rd.   Three blessed hoppers will win their choice of one free set, and 1 hopper will win the entire Nov. Bread Basket Bundle!!! Simply hop to each stop, leave a comment and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop and let us know if you had any problems along the way! That’s it! Blessings!!!

For today's hop I selected the Chickadee Ornament set shown below...

For my project, I created a Christmas ornament and coordinating gift box.

For the ornament, I stamped the image on white tissue paper and colored it with pencils. After lightly coating a clear ornament with liquid floor wax, I placed the trimmed image inside the ornament.  (It is much easier to roll the image up before putting it inside the ornament...)  I used a pipe cleaner to position the image before the wax dried. I added another coating of wax and coated it with glitter. Easy! (I'll follow up with a tutorial in the coming week...)

I adorned the box with a Copic colored image with a layer of shirred lace on the back. Another fun project! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Now I will send you on to your final stop... the ODBD's blog!
 Blessings...
