MOJO 482 ~ Love is Not What You Say ~

It used to drive me crazy when my husband would insist "love isn't a feeling, but an action."  I just could not for the life of me understand what he was trying to tell me.  As a young, insecure newly married woman, I thought my hubby should shower me with "I Love Yous" at every available moment.  As I have grown older and potentially wiser...  I finally think I understand.  Some people are better at showing how much they love you versus saying it.  And honestly, I believe the words "I Love You" have become so over used that when they are spoken...  well...  they lose their meaning.  How many of us say we "love" a new outfit, our new hairdo or the latest ice cream flavor?  Love is much deeper than that...  not something that two characters on a television show say 15 minutes into an hour program because they "just know."  Life and love is much messier...  more complicated and just plain confusing sometimes!  I often wonder how I even survived my late teens and early twenties.  We aren't equipped to really "know" what love is unless we have an intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He loved us passionately.  So passionately that He gave His life for us.  Did he have reservations?  The Bible tells us he cried out to His heavenly Father asking if the cup could be taken from him.  He was so stressed that he sweat drops of blood.  That is the kind of love He gave to us and the kind we should model.   Self sacrificing...  thinking of others...  and loving with all we have.

MOJO405 ~ Be Blessed ~

How do you plan on being blessed today?  Will you take a few moments to stroll and admire the Lord's creation?  Will you attend a worship service and sing praises to His name?  Will you delve into His word and ask Him to speak to you?  Will you spend time with friends and/or family soaking up those precious moments and filing away memories?  Whatever, it may be, I challenge you to bless someone else in your words and deeds today.  I guarantee you will receive the bigger blessing!

Today's card featuring the MOJO405 sketch...

I started with a black card stock base measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  I used an embossing folder (Cricut's Kitchen Weave) to emboss a white card stock base.  I found my bandanna and farm paper in a fun paper collection from American Crafts.  I wanted to pick up the black so I found a complementary dot print from Teresa Collins.  I cut two 1 inch wide blue card stock strips (for a total of 24 inches) and scored them at half inch intervals.  I then used the scoring lines to gate fold the strips and used a glue gun to adhere them to around base.  I stamped my sentiment on a white die cut circle and added it with the Blessed sentiment to my page.  When I think of farms this time of year, I think of county fairs...

So here's the sketch I used this week...

And a very special thank you to Bugaboo and Flying Unicorn!  These fabulous companies provided our prizes this week!

This week we are visiting scripture from the book of Galatians...

I started with both white and red card stock.  I also pulled out a nautical DP to frame the sentiment panel.  I used red to create my card base (a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card) and cut a slightly smaller white panel (4 x 5.25).  I cut another red panel an additional 1/4 smaller and used my ScorPal to score the paper at 1/4 inch intervals.  I swiped a white ink pad on the recessed side (where the score lines were recessed) and allowed it to dry.  I then used a gray ink pad and swiped more ink for a richer look.  Once the panel dryed, I added it to the card base and mat.  I used a plain doily (Wilton) and added it to the center with dimensional foam.  I printed the scripture on white CS and matted it with the dark blue nautical DP I had on hand.  I added a copper flourish (The Paper Studio) and a few blossoms and paper punched leaves/twigs.  I also placed a newspaper DP print "runner" under the sentiment panel!  So fun and easy!

Today's card was based on a sketch...
