Exploring Cricut ~ Teacher's Gift

Good Friday morning to ya! I am popping in today to share the daily project for Exploring Cricut. The last few days have been chaotic and I am one tired pup! Please check back Saturday for the next Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge. So on to this project... a little something for your favorite teacher...

This project used Flower Shoppe. All of my flowers were cut at 3.5 inches and the leaves at 2.5 inches. To create the vase I took an old Prima flower tin and glued crayons around it. This project took exactly 47 crayons. I then tied a big checkered bow on the outside. I cut 2 of each color flower (this cut is the one with a hole in the middle) and ran a sucker through each one. I added some floral foam in the center of the tin and randomly placed my sucker (flowers) to look like a bouquet. I added a few sprigs of greenery for interest. Exploring Cricut ~ Celebrate Mother's Day!

Welcome to another fun challenge at Exploring Cricut.

This week Diane has asked the team to Celebrate Mother's Day!

Specifically, make a card, layout or papercraft celebrating Mother's Day!

For my project this week I chose to do a one page layout celebrating the most important woman in my life, my Mom! I used Cricut's Flower Shoppe and Mother's Day cartridges to complete the task. And here it is with a photo of my Mom and I taken around Christmas of 1971... So glad I managed to grow some hair! :-) I plan to put this in a shadow box and give it to Mom this Sunday! Don't tell!!!

A Good Man - Faux Leather

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here! I wanted to share a card I created last week using ODBD's Father's Day set. I know Father's Day won't be here until June but when inspiration strikes... ya just gotta go with it!

Here's the final product...



The base is kraft card stock with a heavily distressed green matting. I embossed the brown card stock using a Sizzix folder. After dry embossing, I inked up my brayer with Versamark Watermark Ink and rolled it over the embossed paper. Once the raised pattern was inked, I sprinkled it all with clear embossing powder, shaking off all excess. I then used a heat gun to emboss those areas. I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa on kraft paper and embossed with a Spellbinder die, inking all edges. A Cheery Lynn Designs die gives the illusion of foliage. I then cut three flower cuts from Chricut's Flower Shoppe cart. Each cut had four petals until I removed one and glued it together. Now I have flowers that look like trillium one of my new favorite wildflowers! A few bits of Flowersoft finish off the centers! The Shabby Tea Room #90 - Winter Picnic

Well it's time for another fabbo challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. This week I am truly honored to be submitting a card as a guest designer. I'm a little nervous about the whole thing! Have you seen some of the amazing things those ladies come up with? Wow! So while I shake my head in wonderment you can check my humble submission below. The inspiration photo for this challenge is above. The crew is looking for creations with

White or Cream, Silver and Glitter

And here's mine...



The base is simple white card stock. I then cut a slightly smaller layer and paper punched the edges with an eyelet punch. I then lightly covered the eyelet ends with glitter glue and poured on the crystal coarse glitter glue. After letting it set, I shook off the excess and added it to the base with dimensional foam. The next layer is a shiny piece of silver card stock. I added a ribbon trim along the bottom that has silver and crystal hanging beads. The final base layer is a 5 x 5 piece of white card stock. I attached woven bias tape, securing it on the back with simple scotch tape. I bought a package of the Wright's Bias Tape Single Fold for this project. After placing it with dimensional foam I pulled out my dies. The silver base for the sentiment is from Spellbinders Holly Motifs. I stamped the sentiment in black and cut it with Spellbinders Standard Circles Large. The white rose is a cut from Cricut Flower Shoppe. I added a pearl in the center and a few paper punched branches (white) and silver leaves (Spellbinders Foliage). The stick pin is one I made with a pearl topped pin and some beads I had on hand. This lovely sentiment is from an upcoming release at Our Daily Bread Designs called aptly, Simple Things. It will be available on December 1st! Thanks for stopping by!
