NCC ~ Whoooo Loves You?

Good morning!  Thank you as always for spending a few moments of your day with me.  I just wanted to take a moment to remember the events of September 11th, 2001.  It hardly seems like it has been 14 years!  Like many of you, I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news.  I remember checking the Internet so I could see what was happening... with no success.  Everyone else in the United States was doing the same thing...  I finally gave up and went to the office next door to listen to a live radio broadcast.  I remember the sheer horror of hearing the newscaster struggling to describe what was going on.  I remember him saying, "Oh, God...  its collapsing..." and then he sobbed...  He vocalized what so many of us were unable to...

As this post goes live, I will be participating in a local 9/11 program.  This year, our local Chamber decided to mark the occasion by honoring those in our community who take an oath...  to lay down their life and protect and serve...  I am saddened to see the lack of respect for our officers nationally.  It pains me to know that there are people in the world who can't respect those who give selflessly...  But then, I remember that Jesus said  in the book of John...

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."
John 5:13 (NASB)

Every day men and women risk their lives to save others...  and complete strangers at that!  I love my family and friends.  And I like to think I would do anything in my power to help them in a dangerous situation.  But I wonder...  would I be brave enough to risk my own life for a complete stranger???

If you see a Firefighter, EMT, Police Officer or other public servant today...  tell them Thank You!  Someday you just might be the stranger they save...

Blessings...

Today's card featuring Who Loves You?

I started with a black card stock base and added a slightly smaller distressed yellow CS mat.  I created my night sky background with a bit of white card stock and layers of distress ink.  I added Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and a final layer of Black Soot Distress inks.  After blending and allowing it to dry, I used an old toothbrush to fleck on Brushed Pewter Distress Stain.  I cut the mat down slightly smaller than the yellow layer and added it with dimensional foam.  I cut a moon using Our Daily Bread Designs'  Matting Circles Die.

I stamped my branch image from North Coast Creations' Who Loves You?  set with Rich Cocoa Ink and a combo of Cantaloupe and Tangelo on the leaves.  I used a few Copics (E34, E35 & 0) to color my limbs before die cutting with the coordinating Owl Family Die.  I also stamped the owl images and colored them with Copics (C1, C2, Y13 & B24) before die cutting.  I had to add a bit of haziness...  (I guess I had the Smoky Mountains on my mind...)  so I pulled out Our Daily Bread Designs' Clouds & Raindrops Die  along with some vellum to create my fog.  A bit of spray adhesive  allowed them to stick with zero effort and nothing showing...  WHEW!
And the mountains???
I used black card stock and an upcoming die from Our Daily Bread Designs!  ;-)

Here are the North Coast Creations products you see today...

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
