Cardabilities 75 ~ Tranquility ~

It's time to work on a sketch!  And I chose to go with this week's Cardabilities' Sketch.  I pulled out a few recent releases from Our Daily Bread Designs to showcase a nautical theme.

I chose to stamp my image with a sepia ink on a Kraft tag.  I added a fun border from Our Daily Bread Designs' new Cathedral Window and Border Die shown here...

The image and sentiment come from Our Daily Bread Designs' Fishing and The Waves on the Sea
sets.

I just love the manly feel of this one!  Thanks for stopping in!  Until next time...  blessings...

Flowers Appear

Today's card is for the Featured Stamper challenge at SplitCoast.  I opted to use a new Spellbinder Custom die from Our Daily Bread Designs on my center panel.

The design is one done by Robin, this week's featured stamper.  I chose to use bright colors and patterns to showcase the white die cut and a mixture of soft mulberry roses.  The scripture, from Morning Glory , was stamped in the corner with black ink.  I just love this die and stamp set.  Here's the images...

Don't you just love em too?  ;-)  Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings....

MOJO268 ~ Blessed is the Season ~

Indeed it is!  Thanks so much for stopping by today dear friend.  I feel certain that your day has been a busy one and it makes me smile to know you chose to spend a bit of it with me.

Today we celebrate a milestone.  My dear Mother was able to return to church with us after a LONG recovery from her recent fall and surgery.  God has indeed been merciful and we celebrate this milestone in her recovery!

I popped in to share a card based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch...

using Our Daily Bread Designs' November 2012 release, Chickadee Ornament...

A very clean design with a great deal of white space... (another outside of my comfort zone moment... lol) Thanks as always for stopping by! Blessings...

Clearly Digital Stamps ~ Christmas Blessings

Thanksgiving is officially a memory!  We had a wonderful time this year enjoying one anothers company and reflecting on all of the blessings God has given us.  It amazes me to think just how fortunate I am!  And it humbles me to know just how little I deserve!  It is only through His grace that we have hope.

So it is my sincere wish this holiday season to not get so caught up in the hustle and bustle.  My desire is to not only hear that small, still voice but to act upon it...  to remember my Savior is near.  For without that voice, I would be truly without hope.  Until next time...

Blessings....

Today's card features a plethora of lovely distressed and inked layers. If you look closely you will even see some paper piercing! (something I rarely do...) The poinsettia is a lovely die cut image by Spellbinders with a bit of watered down paint splattered on with my old tooth brush... kinda looks like those jingle bell poinsettias I so dearly love! :-)

ODBDSLC121 ~ You Leave Me In Stitches!

It is time for another Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge!  (And this one will last 2 weeks!)

This time we want to see stitches!
Faux or real...

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, September 9th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC121. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

And now for my take...

For my stitching I cheated and used an embossing folder. After embossing the DP, I lightly sanded it with a distressing tool to make the stitching pop. I chose Our Daily Bread Designs' With Heartfelt Sympathy set for this card. This set is so elegant! I know this one will be my go to set for all of my sympathy cards.

I used a DP resembling an old map for the die cut Spellbinders Moroccan Motif and placed a black scalloped die beneath the sentiment panel. For this card I opted to stamp my image and sentiment with coordinating ink. A few blossoms and die punched leaves add a bit of whimsy. I also cut up a pearl flourish and added it the floral spray and the upper corner. I thought it might be a little bland! Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

Please stop by and visit my "sister sticks" to see their lovely creations! And don't forget to leave them some love!

Chris Olsen  *** Jan Keen *** Jan Marie Ennenga *** Kathy Roney *** Rosemary Dennis *** and our very special guest designer this month Linda Lucas!

Got My Groove On...

I am a child of the 70s. Now, there is a fashion decade that should NEVER be revisited! My mom made many of my clothes. And when I spied this chevron paper... Wow! I was transported to a time when I had a lovely pair of elastic polyester chevron pattern pants. I think they were even bell bottoms... Now, now, don't laugh! I know you had some too! We were just the cat's pajamas... (Ok, maybe that is 50s lingo... but you know what I mean...)

Blessings...
