What better advice for the newlyweds? Put God first and everything else will fall right into place. A Christ centered marriage will be truly blessed indeed! There will be struggles but with adversity comes a faith like none other. I knew this month's sketch at Priscilla Styles would be perfect for a wedding card I needed.
Here's the sketch...
And the final product...
I used white and black CS for the base and matting. I then added some lovely DP by Little Yellow Bicycle (Swoon). I used two SB dies for this project, Floral Ovals for the base and Classic Ovals Small for the scripture. The scripture panel is slightly elevated with dimensional foam for depth. I added some white and pink mulberry roses along with MS punch leaves and twigs. A few adhesive pearls finish the look. Very soft and elegant... this beauty is definitely a God thing! All glory to HIM!!! Until next time... blessings...

RS13, TLC379, A Sneaky Peeky AND Life in Your Years
I can hardly believe Wednesday is here! Wow, has this week flown by! Friday will be release day at Our Daily Bread Designs. Kelley & Company have some fabbo stamps to share. And since Friday is just a few short days away (wink, wink) I thought I would share a sneaky peeky of one of the sentiments. This card will be going to a fun sketch blog called Retro Sketches.
Here's the sketch...
And my take on it...
So what do you think? Definitely a little more "shabby" than normal...but oh so fun to make! My dear friend and fellow DT member, Sabrina, sent me these lovely dress forms a while back. I inked this little gem up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (directly from the ink pad) and allowed it to dry thoroughly. I then added some Ranger Distress Crackle Paint (Rock Candy) to the base and neck and let it dry. Once it was all cured, I glued on some burlap (Modge Podge) and trimmed it to the form. I added a twine rope at the waist with a tiny cream mulberry rose. My little dressform needed some bling so I added some Recollection pearls! The card base is plain black CS with a layer of distressed Prima Almanac DP. I inked all the edges with Ranger DI (Walnut and Tea Dye Stains) before crinkling, wrinkling and otherwise tearing it to shreds. Once it was "shabbylicious" I glued it to my card stock. The base for the dress form is kraft paper inked on the edges with the above mentioned Ranger stains. I also stamped ODBD's Time image randomly with the Walnut Stain. I didn't reink each time I stamped as I like that 2nd and 3rd generation print I get without it. The final touch... I stamped the sentiment (ODBD's to be released set, Bicycle) with Versafine Onyx Black. I added a hole punch and tied a piece of jute ribbon through the top. After placing the dressform where desired with dimensional foam I added it to the card. I also tucked a bit of ecru lace under the kraft panel for a feminine flourish.
So here's a closer view...
Thanks as always for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

CP167 ~ Commit to the Lord
I hope everyone States side had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! What a blessing to be able to live in a free country! That freedom has come at a terrible cost for many. And it is this time of year that reminds me just how precious a gift that is. For those of you who have served your country in either our military, National Guard, Police, Fire or First Responders, God Bless You! Your service means so very much! I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It is that devotion and commitment to service which brings to mind the focal scripture of today's card....
I had a chance to try a new technique for me. I created my own Washi Tape. I ran some tissue paper through my Xyron and then cut it down into 1 inch strips. I layered three of these strips under the sentiment panel for interest. It is a little tricky to get the tissue paper off the backing but it can be done. It just takes a great deal of patience. :-)
Today's card is based on the following sketch challenge at Card Patterns...
Thanks for visiting today and have a wonderful day with friends and family!

MOJO243 & TSTR116 ~ Thanks a Bunch
Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend! I know I spent a great deal of time catching up on the normal household chores. Hubby is scared silly because I actually cooked several times this weekend! :-) I did get a chance to catch a little nap or two plus I even got a few cards done! I've been in a sort of creative rut lately and absolutely NOTHING inspired me! :-( But I think the drought has broken... whew!!!
So today I am playing in a few challenges. The MOJO 243 sketch...
This week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room asks participants to create something using white/cream, pink & blue plus flowers and a fabric element. The Shabby Tea Room inspiration photo "Color Me Pretty..."
And my interpretation...
The base is a scallop cut from Cricut's Winter Woodland cartridge. It is exactly 4.25 inches. I used the Spellbinders Standard Circles Large to cut the DP pink layer and trim the pattern strip to fit under the sentiment panel. The DP under the panel has touches of blue plus a hexagon with pink roses. It's kinda hard to see but it is there! I then layered on a white crochet medallion with the sentiment panel on top. The sentiment panel is actually a light blue doily fussy cut from one of the DP sheets in the Be Happy paper pad. I then stamped the sentiment (Verve) on it before adhering. For some sort touches I added a couple of pearl stick pins, one heart and one regular to the doily. I nestled a pink mulberry rose on a crochet piece and added a cream hemp bow before gluing it down. A few sprigs of greenery (MS paper punch) add s little zest. I also added some pearls (Recollections) to each scallop on the card. Very pretty and very tiny! The small cards are hard for a big handed girl like me to wrestle with! Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

VLVMay2012 Week 5, JUGS138 ~ You Make a Difference
Today I am playing along with a fun sketch challenge at Viva la Verve and a photo inspiration challenge at Just Us Girls. This is the first time I have played along with the latter. Here's the inspiration photo...
and the sketch challenge by one of my fav designers Andrea Ewen...
And here's my take on both...
I chose kraft and white card stock for my matting and coordinating DP by MME. I stamped the flower image (Verve's Great Friend set) on DP twice, cut each out and attached them together with a brown brad. I hand cut the leaves as well and placed both with dimensional foam beside my sentiment (from Verve's Bloom & Grow set). Super easy to put together. Thanks for stopping in and until next time... blessings...

STV12FRI14 & SSIC141 ~ Bright and Beautiful
Today's card is for a Technique Challenge over at StampTV. Gina K, introduced a technique last week called Wainscoting. You may find the link here. I must admit I love the look in old homes but was a tad bit intimidated by the technique on cards. But I dove right in and gave it a whirl. And here are the results...
I chose a cream card stock for my wainscot base and used my Scor-pal to score lines at 1/2 inch intervals. I selected Memento's Desert Sand for my ink and went to work. I really like how it turned out! And when it comes to summer, nothing comes to mind more than geraniums! They are such a happy flower! I found this image in Gina K.'s Enjoy the Sunshine Stamp Kit from a few years back. I colored it with Copics and sponged on a soft blue cloud background with Memento Summer Sky ink. Spellbinders' Large Ovals allowed me to cut/emboss the focal panel. I added a card stock base (Gina K.) cut with Spellbinders Scalloped Large Ovals. The final touch includes a simple jute ribbon! Thanks so much for stopping in and until next time... blessings...

ODBD Shining the Light Challenge #110 ~ A Color Challenge!
Happy Memorial Day weekend! Thanks to all of those who have served their country. We also remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Take a few moments this weekend to tell a veteran you love and respect them for the sacrifices they made. I promise it will warm your heart even more than theirs!
In honor of all of our veterans, all American and patriotic sets are 20% off at ODBD this weekend. And there is free shipping for orders over $20.00! International orders receive $5 off their shipping. Check out Our Daily Bread Designs blog for sale sets!
Wow! Its also time for another Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge! (This challenge will last for 2 weeks!) This week we are participating in a color challenge. The challenge...
Use the colors pink, black and/or grey and white/vanilla in your creation
To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Friday, June 8th at 8 a.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced Saturday, June 9th. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.
While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Friday, June 8th at 8 a.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC110. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.
For this project I used an Our Daily Bread classic, Lord is My Shepherd for both the central image and scripture. (I just love this darling sheep image!) I stamped the image on vanilla card stock with black ink and added my scripture. I then used Spellbinders' Large Ovals to cut/emboss the central panel. I added a SB Scalloped Large Oval in black CS to make my central panel pop. My base is black card stock with a layer of vanilla matting. I selected my DP from Prima's Nature Garden collection. I tucked a bit of lace behind the custom dyed seam binding. Isn't the cut little key charm darling? Thanks to my dear DT buddy Sabrina for adding that little gem to my stash! A cream pearl flourish (cut and placed on opposit corners) adds interest. For final touches, I placed some vanilla and soft pink roses around my panel with a few paper punched leaves.
So let's check it off..
Pink - Flowers
Black and/or Gray - Card stock and Designer Paper
White or Cream - Card stock, flowers, pearls, lace

Exploring Cricut ~ Teacher's Gift
Good Friday morning to ya! I am popping in today to share the daily project for Exploring Cricut. The last few days have been chaotic and I am one tired pup! Please check back Saturday for the next Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge. So on to this project... a little something for your favorite teacher...
This project used Flower Shoppe. All of my flowers were cut at 3.5 inches and the leaves at 2.5 inches. To create the vase I took an old Prima flower tin and glued crayons around it. This project took exactly 47 crayons. I then tied a big checkered bow on the outside. I cut 2 of each color flower (this cut is the one with a hole in the middle) and ran a sucker through each one. I added some floral foam in the center of the tin and randomly placed my sucker (flowers) to look like a bouquet. I added a few sprigs of greenery for interest. Thanks so much for reading and until next time...
Blessings...

MOJO242, TSTR115 & SSIC140 ~ The Future
Happy Tuesday! Can you believe the work week is almost half over? I am looking forward to that nice long Memorial Day weekend, aren't you?
Today I am popping in after a considerable dry spell to share a challenge card. This time I actually was able to combine THREE challenges. That is quite the feat since my creative energies have been at "low tide."
So here it is...
This card is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch...
And the inspiration photo "Garden Party" at The Shabby Tea Room...
The sentiment I selected is in Our Daily Bread Designs' Dreams set. I chose a soft blue Bazzill base and added a distressed floral print DP by Prima (Fairy Belle). I embossed/distressed a white panel of card stock adding soft touches of pink distress ink to the edges. Pinking shears added a bit of interest to the floral panel on top. The gingham sentiment panel was included in a lilybeedesign paper pad, Double Dutch. A bit of white lace and blue seam binding are tucked in behind the panel. A couple of pink pearl flourishes, white glittered rose and blue mulberry roses finish off the corner spray! So glad I finally came up with something I LIKE! It's been a while... lol... But aren't we always hard on ourselves? Have a wonderful and blessed day! Until next time...

Exploring Cricut ~ Cricut Choice
Welcome to another fun challenge at Exploring Cricut.
This week Diane has asked the team to try something new! Grab a cartridge that you have not used or used very little and create a card, layout, or papercraft. Explore the unknown! Have fun with this one!
I decided to used Independence Day and make some home decor...
Cuts
4 - Triangle Pennants (red, white and blue layers) cut at 3 inches
4 - Bunting Cuts (red, white and blue layers) cut at 2 inches
To assemble this project, you will need
5 - 4 inch coordinating pieces of ribbon
1 - piece of jute - 24 inches
Directions
1. Cut all Cricut cuts and assemble
2. Hot glue pennants (alternating designs) on jute.
3. Fold ribbon and adhere between cuts. I used glue dots for this part.
4. Trim ribbon as desired.
5. Trim jute to desired length and enjoy!
So easy and fun! This project will remain on my corner cabinet until after Labor Day! I love anything Americana (as you can see by the items in my cabinet...) Thanks for stopping in and until next time... Blessings...

ODBDSLC109 ~ It's A Sketch!
Woo hoo! Welcome to another Our Daily Bread Designs' Shining the Light Challenge. This week we are participating in a sketch challenge.
Here's the sketch...
To make the sketch challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Friday, May 25th at 8 a.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced Saturday, May 26th.
Linky by Friday, May 25th at 8 a.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC109. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.
Here's my take on this week's challenge...
For this project I used Our Daily Bread's latest set, Dreams. My base is a rich red card stock with light cream matting. The DP featured came from a new My Mind's Eye set (Dilly Dally). I distressed all edges with my handy dandy distressing tool before adhereing to the base. I nestled a lovely satin bow (created with Becca's Peg Bow Maker) available at ODBD) under the sentiment panel. I opted not to color the images this time. I simply stamped them with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on the DP panel. I used Spellbinder dies (Floral Ovals and Ovals Large to highlight my stamping. A few simple pearls and presto!
Thanks for stopping in and be sure to check out what my other Sister Sticks have for ya... Blessings...

MOJO241, SSIC139 ~ Trust
Good afternoon and thanks for stopping by to visit. I have a card to share. I created this one for the Mojo Monday sketch Challenge along with the weekly challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ.
Here's the sketch...
And my interpretation... (yes, I did rotate the sketch...)
This week's challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ calls for participants to include an animal, bird or bug of some sort. This request brought me to a stash of brads (shaped like ants) hidden away. And as often happens, God revealed something to me. I came upon this scripture in the Bible...
Proverbs 30:25
"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest."
Many of us have times of trials and suffering. And this spring has been a brutal one physically and emotionally for me. The migraines I had every 6 months or so have now become almost a weekly occurrence. My creative energies have been at an all time low. Things have been stressful on many fronts and my doctor cautions me to reduce my stress load. That can be a difficult thing to do with so many irons in the fire. And I truly believe God wants us to be productive. This scripture reveals so much! You see, the ant works very hard... but the ant also works smarter! It takes advantage of opportunity to provide for the future. She stays focused on her task and forges ahead. She maintains the course. The scripture I have on this card is included in Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 7 and I found it to be a great comfort. Trust in the Lord. Stay focused on Him and forge ahead. And that perfect peace will come! Blessings...
Card Recipe
Stamps - Our Daily Bread Designs - Scripture Collection 7
Paper - Paper Studio, Georgia Pacific, Prima Sun Kiss, lilybeedesign Double Dutch
Dies - Spellbinders - Standard Circles Large, Petite Scalloped Circles Large, Foliage, Sunflower Set Two
Embossing Folder - Provocraft - Wicker Weave
Ribbon - Offray
Brads, Jet Bead Flourish

VLVMay2012 ~ Mother
Happy Mother's Day! Mothers deserve so much credit for all the stuff they do! My Mom is a saint... after all she had to put up with me... lol... But to hear her tell it, I was a joy! Now that is love!
Today's card is based on a sketch at Verve. I chose paper by Teresa Collins called Everyday Moments. I love the rich shades of blue, white and yellow! So fresh! Here's the sketch I used...
And my interpretation with some lovely details by Prima, die cuts by Spellbinders and a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs...
This will be going to my Mom today. I am so blessed to still have her at the young age of 75! God has been good giving me such an awesome, sweet and patient Mom. She is a joy! Love ya Mom! Make sure if you are still blessed to have your Mom to give her a hug, call or both today! It is the most underappreciated job in the world! Blessings...

Here's my take on this week's challenge using photo #3...
For this project I used Our Daily Bread's latest set, Dreams. My base is a soft cream card stock with a nice DP featuring a soft green, cream and khaki (the colors from photo #3)... I embossed the kraft panel before adding the sentiment panel. I stamped my sentiment and images before lightly adding some desert sand ink around the edges and coloring the olive branch and dove with Copics. I finished the card with a lovely bow (compliments of Becca's Peg Bow Maker) and some cream mulberry flowers. I added a touch of bleached hemp for a little touch of nature!
Thanks for stopping in and be sure to check out what my other Sister Sticks have for ya... Blessings...

I decided to work with the Sweet William Small Set pictured below...
Our Daily Bread also has a Sweet William set which perfectly nests with the Small William set...
And my project this week using the Sweet William Small set...
I stamped my Sweet Williams on white card stock with Antique Linen Distress Ink before cutting with the Spellbinder Blossom Three Dies. I then cut each petal, flipped the blossom over and used an embossing tool to break down the fibers in the paper petals. I use an old mouse pad for cushioning. This allows the petals to curve and pop up. I did this to both layers and put them together with dimensional foam before adding a pearl center. I stamped the sentiment using individual words from this set. This makes it super easy to customize your greeting!
Now next on the hop is Julie. She has a beautiful project to share! Thanks so much for hopping along with us! Blessings!

Exploring Cricut ~ Celebrate Mother's Day!
Welcome to another fun challenge at Exploring Cricut.
This week Diane has asked the team to Celebrate Mother's Day!
Specifically, make a card, layout or papercraft celebrating Mother's Day!
For my project this week I chose to do a one page layout celebrating the most important woman in my life, my Mom! I used Cricut's Flower Shoppe and Mother's Day cartridges to complete the task. And here it is with a photo of my Mom and I taken around Christmas of 1971... So glad I managed to grow some hair! :-) I plan to put this in a shadow box and give it to Mom this Sunday! Don't tell!!!
Cuts
Mom - Mother's Day - Fit to Page
Flower Shoppe - Flowers & Leaves - Mum cut 3.75, 2.75, 2.25 staggered
Recipe
Paper - Paper Studio, Bazzill, K & Co. Watercolor Bouquet Paper Pad
Paper Crimper, Distressing Tool, Brad - Making Memories, Pearls - Prima
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to visit Friday as I will have a daily post for Exploring Cricut and Thursday/Saturday for some projects with Our Daily Bread Designs! Praying I can get back to some creating soon and that my Expression will be on the mend! Blessings...

ODBDSLC107 ~ Let's Scrapbook!
Welcome and happy National Scrapbook Day! Several of my friends will be scrappin' the night away tonight lovingly recording memories for future generations. Today, Our Daily Bread Designs wants to issue a special challenge. We want to see a scrapbook layout. One page or two, 8 x 10 or 12 x 12... let your imagination go wild!
To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Friday, May 11th at 8 a.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced Saturday, May 12th. Here's my take on this week's challenge... (shhh... don't tell John I used a photo of us both... lol...)
This was taken a few years back when I completed my Masters. I used Our Daily Bread's latest set, Dreams. This set is perfect for graduation and/or retirement projects! Behind our photo I used a die stamped with the word graduate (from this set). I used the quote included by Eleanor Roosevelt as well. This quote was so fitting because for me going back to school was a dream come true! I had long wanted to be a teacher. Finishing this Masters program gave me the chance to student teach. Finally, I knew I could do it! And even though I am not in a classroom I don't regret a moment. It was such a blessing for me to complete the program!
Thanks for stopping in and be sure to check out what my other Sister Sticks have for ya... Blessings...

Your Service
So glad you could stop by for a few moments today! Things have been very quiet on the Ulrich front. John spent some time this past weekend visiting his youngest in Virginia while I puttered around the house. I did manage to get some household chores but very little crafting! Boo...hoo...
So bear with me as I get my crafting mojo back in full swing. I plan on getting some projects done this week! I hope to play along with Mojo Monday sometime soon. Those lovely sketches keep calling my name!
Don't forget about Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge this Saturday! It promised to be fun! And next week I will have a couple of Cricut projects plus a Love of Alumni hop project for ODBD. Should be a busy one! In the meantime, here is a simple project I whipped up last week...
The lace edging and sentiment can be found in ODBD's Serve the Lord set. I hand trimmed the lace edges for added dimension. The base and frame are a rich chocolate card stock and the ink is Memento's Rich Cocoa. I created the frame using Spellbinder's Large Ovals and Labels Twenty sets. I found the magnolia blossom and leaves in a Petaloo stash I had! Simple, fun and delightful! Until next time... blessings...
