Tonight, I am popping in to show you one final project from this month's release at Our Daily Bread Designs.  On Tuesday, we will have an entirely new release to share and this month I have three cards to showcase!  But until then, take a few moments to look over this clean and simple card using the Aloha stamp set and coordinating Bird of Paradise Die.  And for a bit of added dimension, I used the new Tropical Leaves Die for my foliage.  Do you recognized the polka dot DP?  You can find that in the Boho Bolds Paper Pad.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope my American friends had a happy and safe 4th of July!  It seems after the 4th our minds turn inevitably to school shopping and the end of summer.  So today, I thought I would take a few moments to place myself on a imaginary beach somewhere with a beautiful tropical sunset.  And Our Daily Bread Designs' Bon Voyage stamp set seemed to lend itself quite well to this task.  With a bit of rich inks and a bit of shading...  a tropical sunset was born... and I didn't have to take a jet plane to see it!

I started out with a black card stock base (5.5 x 4.25 inches when folded).  I added a slightly smaller rich pink mat before my final black CS mat layer (created with ODBD's Pierced Rectangles Die.  My main panel started with plain white card stock.  I layered on several different shades of distress ink until I reached the desired sunset effect.  I then stamped the palm tree image on with a vibrant black ink.  While creating my image layer, I chose a bit of of white scrap and inked it up with purple and pink distress ink to mimic the sky.  I knew I would position my sentiment in that area and wanted the background to look similar.  I chose to cut/emboss it with a die from the Pennant Flags and matted it with black CS using the Double Stitched Pennant Flags.  I created my Frangipani spray with white card stock, inking the die cuts before shaping.  The leaves are from the NEW Ferns Die and Tropical Leaves Die.  I have shared the ink colors below for those that like the shades I used.  The blossom itself was made with the NEW Frangipani Die.

July Release and Blog Hop at Our Daily Bread Designs

Welcome to a new release at Our Daily Bread Designs and blog hop!  This month, we have a tropical theme...  perfect for all those summer cards you need to create!  And nothing says a warm tropical beach like flamingos and Frangipani!  For my first card, I used the new Tickled Pink stamp set, coordinating Flamingos Dies, Ferns Die and Frangipani Die.  We also have a special focus this month on one of our paper pad sets, Boho Bolds Paper Pad.  You see it here in the polka dot pattern paper and dark green background paper.

 I inked the centers of each frangipani blossom with a bit of distress ink and each flamingo was gently colored with Copic markers after stamping.  I also added a bit of Bamboo Leaves colored ink to the sentiment panel after cut/embossing and before removing the die.  So here are the new items you see today...

I chose to do a center step card for my second project using the new Aloha stamp set, coordinating Bird of Paradise Die, Ferns Die, Hibiscus Die and Tropical Leaves Die.

I stamped my image on Copic compatible paper and after coloring used the Bird of Paradise Die to cut it out.  I added the image to a softly sponged white background panel.  I used a soft blue and scalloped die to create clouds.  I created a fun floral spray using the new dies, Hibiscus, Ferns and Tropical Leaves.  I nested those over the panel and added an oval sentiment panel.  I chose to use a variety of papers on this one including Birthday Bash Paper Collection, Birthday Brights Paper Pad and Boho Bolds Paper Pad.  Here are the new items you see...
