The Decision America Tour

What do you do when the best made plans you have made...  just don't happen?  The last few weeks have been a blur.  I have been unusually busy as I am sure you are.  Life just seems to be packed with even more events, responsibilities, chores...  you know!  STUFF!

But things became very clear for me this past Wednesday.  You see I took a day off from work to volunteer at the #DecisionAmericaTour2016 in Frankfort, Kentucky hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.  I signed up to volunteer in February.  But the weeks leading up to the event did not go anything like I expected them to.  Work became busier, my health suffered and I spent many hours traveling in my car in tears...  deeply burdened by what I felt was a God given call and the complications of life...  I toyed with staying home which only made me cry more...  I began to feel worse...  spiraling into a Devil induced tailspin.  And then it happened...  I left it all at the Cross...  laid the pain and worry at His feet and began to live...

Wednesday morning threatened rain, but when I left home for the 1.5 hour drive the sun was shining.  The closer I got to Frankfort, the more energized I became.  I felt 20 years young again and my heart was full.  After parking and meeting a lovely couple with the BGEA, we walked to registration.  I picked up my t-shirt, badge and assignment and then we had CHURCH...

Over a hundred volunteers from across the Commonwealth raised our voices in prayer... the tears flowed yet again... God was surely in this place!

We went to our assignments.  I was stationed near the base of the Capitol to greet those coming to the event...  The presence of the Holy Spirit was palpable...

Franklin Graham gave a powerful message that day.  If you have any doubts about why Christians should be engaged in this and every election, I would challenge you to find out more HERE.

Pray. Vote. Engage.

"Become a political activist for God."
-Franklin Graham

When I look at my volunteer badge today...  the V seems to stand for something much bigger...  Victory in Christ...  Standing with God...  Making a solid commitment to support our Lord and Savior...

The next day, the #DecisionAmericaTour2016 bus made a stop in Charleston, WV.  And if I had another day off, I would have been there...

I hope and pray, my Lord can use me in other ways...  political office, maybe... I pledged Wednesday to give it prayerful consideration.

Check out the Decision America Tour site HERE for more information about the tour.  Please consider attending in your state and pray for the rally in each state capitol.  In Frankfort alone we had over 150 decisions for Christ and 6,000 in attendance.  God is very much alive folks and to Him be all the Glory!  It was the most amazing day of my life!  Our volunteer coordinator told us early that morning that we would remember that day always.  I know I will.

Thank you and until next time...

Blessings...

Bravo. It is always a moving and even emotional decision when it comes to our faith. Over the years I too have been involved in and gone to many events. I have had many roles and positions in them. The current blog is a step in faith as well. I encourage all those that are complacent to get involved in the welfare of our country to bring our people back to God's table. Thank you for this blog and testimony. Saints really do rule.

Love, Big Hugs and Loads of blessings,

Jim
