~ Have a Holly Jolly Christmas ~

Happy Friday morning!  Today's project features an Our Daily Bread Designs' stamp from last year AND a new coordinating die released this month!  I love coordinating dies!  They make my finished projects so much easier.  I love this image and last year I fussy cut the image.  That took a bit of time and patience!  Now I can just line up the die and cut away!  LOVE THAT!

Today's card features the Holly Wreath stamp and coordinating Holly Wreath Die...

F497 - HOLLY WREATH

and the sentiment placed and die cut with...

And the other products you see...

Paper - Neenah Solar Crest (Image); Georgia Pacific - white; Bazzill; The Paper Studio Woodland Winterland (DP)

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow as we explore the new release from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I can't wait to show you all the new stamps and dies, Kelley and company have for you!

~ Golden Wreath ~

Happy Friday!  So excited that the weekend is here!  It's been a crazy busy week in the Ulrich household and I am looking forward to a few days of catching up around the house.  I am even excited to do laundry!  Yes...  someone needs to take my temperature!  lol

Today I have another simple Christmas card to share using Our Daily Bread Designs' Holly Wreath set.  I embossed the image with gold powder.

and here's the stamp set image...

I added some gold ribbon I had left over from another project and some jingle bells from my stash.  I can check another card off my list!  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...

Christmas ~ The Real Reason

Good morning!  Thanks for stopping in!  I have a new card to share today featuring several products from Our Daily Bread Designs' September release.  In just a few short days, Kelley will have some new products to share!  ;-)  They are beautiful!

In the meantime, I have a Christmas card to share using an ODBD die and stamp set released this month.

I wanted to use the new Decorative Corners die but do something a bit "unconventional."  So I opted to cut out the die image on the bottom of my card, back it with a dark CS and reapply the cut.  I love how it gives a bit of added dimension.  In order to have the cross, we had to have the Savior's birth...  the cross serves as a visual reminder of the tremendous sacrifice he made.

The stamped image was colored with Copics, hand cut and added to the top with dimensional foam.  The sentiment from the Jingle Bells set is embossed on another die cut.

Here's the products I used...

MOJO310 ~ Wishing You A Merry Christmas ~

Good morning!  Hope this post finds you well!  There is a terrible "bug" roaming our part of the country and unfortunately several friends are suffering.  It sure seems like the flu is starting early, IF that's what it is.  Doesn't bode well for the rest of fall and winter!  I will keep taking my Vitamin C and praying for the good Lord's mercies!  And if it happens...  just take it in stride, right?
We live our lives as a witness of His amazing grace!  And if we grumble and complain, what kind of message are we sending?  Life it tough but our Savior is tougher!  He took on the devil for us and won!  So why be afraid?

Christmas will be here soon.  Another glorious season to celebrate our Savior's birth...  I am definitely trying to get ahead of the game and get some cards made!  I am sharing another card using the tissue stamping technique.  I modified it a bit by applying the inks directly to an embossing folder.  I then ran my paper through and got a wonderful mottled effect.  I used two layers on this card using three rich buttery ink tones...

You will need one facial tissue for each ink color.  I used three shades of a rich yellow.  Scrunch your tissue up and apply it to the ink pad.  Then pounce it on your embossing folder.  Use a new tissue for each color until you get the desired depth of coverage you want.  Then lightly "huff" on the folder to reactivate the ink and place your card stock inside.  Run it through your embossing machine and VOILA!  You have texture and unique coloring!

I embossed my sentiment (Ranger's gold embossing powder) on the focal panel.  This time I used a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs.  This one can be found in the new set, Holly Wreath shown here....

Isn't it just darling?  I love, love, love this image too!  I have a beautiful colored image on my desk begging to be placed on a card!  Keep your eyes peeled!  I hope to show that one soon too!  :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I always appreciate your lovely comments!  They encourage me so!  {{hugs}}

Our Daily Bread Designs' September Release

Welcome to the ODBD September New Release!

Kelley will be choosing one random winner from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $50 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used towards the purchase of stamps!  Now who couldn't use more ODBD stamps?????  You have until September 3rd, 2013 at 9:00pm EST to leave your comments on the designers blogs.  The winner will be posted on the ODBD Blog on September 4th, so be sure to check back to see if you have won.  :-)

I have two cards today featuring this fabulous new release!

The first uses a new set called Jingle Bells...

shown here....

Isn't this image just amazing when colored?  I used Copics to color it and lightly sponged blue ink around it to create a faux sky.  A touch of glitter glue brightens up the snow while layers of red and green card stock make the white die cut layers pop.  I stamped a coordinating sentiment from this set on white card stock and used a ribbon die cut to highlight it.  I nestled it on the bottom so you could see the entire image.  This image is so realistic!  I believe I can even hear those bells ringing!

And my second card today features another fabulous set, Holly Wreath...

shown here...

I just had to color this amazing image with Copics as well!  I colored each leaf to mimic holly with light green edges by layering a yellow green ink first, then a medium tone and finally a dark green in the center.  I then went back over each with the lightest color to blend.  I used a white gel pen to add subtle highlights on the berries.  This image is amazing!  A couple of gold bells added at the top add just the perfect touch.  I embossed the sentiment with gold to match the real jingle bells.

And a few sneek peeks I have shared this week...

this one using  Jingle Bells

and this one using Apples

shown here...

I just love them all!  Don't you?  Now I have Christmas carols running through my head...

Anyone else ready to start their Christmas card stash????
