MOJO314 ~ Stripes That Are Red ~

Good morning!  I have a new stamp to share today.  I used Our Daily Bread Designs' set, Candy Cane.  I even managed to find DP that resembles a candy cane!

Here's an image of the set...

I used this week's Mojo sketch as my starting off point.  I used red card stock for the base (4.25 x 5.5 inches) and white matting.  I then added the trimmed down candy cane striped DP.  A die cut doily is nestled on top with a red matted sentiment banner.  I stamped the verse from the Candy Cane set on white with a crisp black ink.  A die cut poinsettia and greenery replace the sentiment panel from the sketch.  A red Offray satin ribbon ties it all up nicely!

Here's the sketch...

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time...

Blessings...

ODBD's July Release!

Hello and welcome to the ODBD July New Release!  We will not be having a regular blog hop, but Kelley will be posting all of the Design Teams cards and links to their blogs on the ODBD blog.  One winner will be chosen from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $50 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store!!

You have until July 3, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. EST to make your comments!

Starting this month our Alumni Team will no longer be posting on Thursdays but will now be joining in on our New Release Posts to bring you even more inspiration for our new stamps!

Some changes with Our Daily Bread Designs' designers....
  • Angella Crockett and Audrey Hiltke are joining the the Alumni Team while our friend, Cathy McCauley is moving to the Design Team!
  • Deb Saaranen is on break from the Alumni team for a few months but will return soon!
  • We bid our dear friend, Kathy Roney a fond farewell.  She is leaving the Challenge Team and we will miss her!!  Love ya Kathy!!!
  • We also say goodbyes to Connie McCotter and Betty Wright who are leaving the Alumni Team!  They will be missed!  Connie and Betty have been on our team for many years and Betty served as the Alumni Team Coordinator for a couple years!  I know we will see you in blogland ladies!
  • And please wish Cheryl Scrivens a big bread basket welcome as she joins us on the Challenge Team!!

I have a couple of cards for you this time including one with some (ahem) non-traditional wedding colors.  My step-son and his fiancĂ© are getting married Sunday July 7th and our grandson to be picked the colors.  Since Jake is all about a certain tractor brand...  we will have a distinct green and yellow color scheme....  How can I tell the little guy I prefer New Holland blue????  :-)

And then there is this card featuring gold embossing on black card stock.  A very simple scheme but elegant nonetheless.  I embossed the doves on a separate piece and fussy cut the image before adding to the top of the faux cake.  It adds just a bit of dimension and makes the entire cake appear to "pop" off the page....

Hope you enjoyed the projects I had to share and don't forget to check out all the others for your chance to win!

Please join my "sister sticks" for more fabulous projects....

WAW82 & MOJO295 ~ Proverbs 14:26 ~

Good morning and welcome to another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Pink Persimmon Stamps and Scripture by Design for sponsoring this week's challenge!

I based this week's card on a sketch using coordinating DP by Bo Bunny...

I printed this week's scripture on a piece of DP and matted it with black card stock.  The central die is a quatrefoil die I received from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I didn't know there was such an interesting story behind quatrefoils and their connection to Christianity!  Super cool!  I added a die cut flourish and a spray of blossoms from my collection.  I elected to add a bit of paper punched greenery and a cream pearl flourish cut placed strategically for visual appeal.  I tucked a bit of paper punched paper behind the die as well for a bit of interest.  It reminds me of iron railing.  I love putting those type of elements with flowers!  It's one of my favorite combos!

Thanks so much for stopping in!

 Until next time...  blessings....

Word Art Wednesday #79 ~ Anything Goes ~

Good morning and welcome to another fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!  Thank you to Fred, She Said and My Creative Classroom for sponsoring this week's challenge.

This week we are inspired by those wonderful and Godly women in our lives, whether they gave us life, mentored us spiritually or BOTH!  How many of you know some wonderful Proverbs' 31 ladies?  Let's hear it for the women who helped mold and shape us!!!

Here's my card featuring this week's verse, Proverbs 31:10...

I found this fabulous tutorial on how to create a sunburst pattern out of scraps at Operation Write Home.  This organization takes homemade cards and distributes them to soldiers who then send them to friends or family.  It's a wonderful cause!  If you have a chance to check them out please do!  Plus they have some awesome tutorials...    This tutorial is perfect for using up all those leftovers you having lying around.  I used some from a project last week!

Thanks for stopping by and as always, blessings!

SC432 ~ The Rose ~

Sometimes, I'm just late to the party.  And today...  is NO exception!  I found a super sketch on SplitCoast last week...  (ok, they are ALL super) but failed to get the final product posted until today.  So please forgive me for my lapse.  I used some new papers new for me, Bo Bunny's Prairie Chic, along with an April release from North Coast Creations .

I stamped the image with Memento ink (Angel Pink) on cream card stock and then added my sentiment with Memento Toffee Crunch.  I selected Spellbinders' Decorative Labels Eight to frame the sentiment and added a few tiny adhesive pearls.  The sketch included the banner under the sentiment panel and I added the sprigs of die cut greenery (Cheery Lynn Designs) and the pearl flourishes.  A tiny mulberry rose adorns the side for interest.  The basic sketch was pretty Clean and Simple.  As you can see, I managed to layer it up!!!  lol  Thanks for looking!

Blessings...

Word Art Wednesday ~ Psalm 91:11

Welcome!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you are new to my blog...  I hope you spend a few moments and find something uplifting!  I am excited to be joining the Wednesday Word Art
team.

Thank you to Karen and company for asking me to spend a little bit of time with you.  The challenges at WAW have been such a blessing to me over the last year just as I know they have been for you.  Today I have a fabulous image to share featuring Psalm 91:11.  As always the images are drawn from God's Holy Word.

You are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in the challenge. We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-freindly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. You can also link more than one project each week (up to 5). The more, the merrier. We just hope that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under Word Art Wednesday's  page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Go to this page also to link your work!  We want to see it!

This week's feature sponsor....  Lisa's Altered Art/Eureka Stamps (5 images)

Now on to my card...

I chose alternating layers of white and purple card stock for my base.  I used a Spellbinder die to cut the lattice layer and added the sentiment with tiny adhesive pearls at the corner.  The lattice required some greenery so I added a die cut flourish and some flowers from my stash.  Definitely a spring feel...

Thanks for stopping by...

Until next time...  Blessings....

Today I nestled a couple of coordinating DP's behind a CLD die.  I stamped the sentiment (Snowflake Sentiments) in a sepia ink slightly off center and nestled it under a rich red satin ribbon.  The embossed snowflake is from the Mini Snowflake set.  I placed it on kraft paper, carefully fussy cutting it and adding with a pearl to jazz up the ribbon.  Bits of paper punched greenery dress up one side of the bow.  I just LOVE the new releases!  :-)

ODBD October Product Focus ~ Crown of Thorns ~

Good morning dear friends!

If you are looking for the bi-weekly Exploring Cricut challenge click HERE...

This month Our Daily Bread Designs' Product Focus features a fabulous stamp set called Crown of Thorns.
Here is the set...

and my creation using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight as my base...

I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored it with Copics. I cut the image with a die and nestled it on the larger die base. A vine die cut and blossoms add a bit of interest in the corner. I also stamped the sentiment and hand cut it before layering it with dimensional foam. A few pearls are scattered around the die for added bling.

The weekly Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge is to create something that reflects peace and calm.  Although some may think the image of Christ is not peaceful, I beg to differ.  This image reminds me just how safe and secure I am in God's love since Christ bore the punishment of my sins.  There is nothing more calming than that.  After all if Christ could give His life for me and suffer so, what do I have to worry about???  That my friends is PEACE for mind...

Thanks for stopping in and don't forget to pop by Our Daily Bread Designs' blog to see all the lovely creations made with this powerful set! Blessings...

Operation Write Home, MOJO256 & WAW43!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wanted to share a project I created this week for Mojo Monday. (And since it is Sunday, I better get this gem posted... lol...)

But I also wanted to share a very worthwhile project going on over at Operation Write Home.

For those of you who are not familiar with it, this program gathers handcrafted cards and distributes them to our brave men and women in uniform. By donating handcrafted cards, you enable servicemen and women to send lovely cards home to their loved ones! Isn't that cool?

There are a few rules. For example, you cannot use glitter on your creations.  So you will want to check out all the guidelines.  You can find all the details HERE. And to make things even more exciting they have challenges for you to participate in! In fact each month, Our Daily Bread Designs sponsors a fabbo challenge. My dear friend and fellow DT member, Angie Crockett is hosting this month. So please stop by and check it out! I know you will get a blessing out of participating! Click HERE to check out Angie's challenge.

Thanks to Kelley Holland at ODBD for being such a supporter of this worthwhile cause!

Now I have a card to share for you today using the weekly Mojo Monday sketch...

And the card...

I started with two die cut scallops using my Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge. I then added a Cheery Lynn Designs die cut doily and a Spellbinders die cut denim DP. I used coordinating papers to create the two vertical banners but opted to used a Zva light blue pearl spray to mimic the horizontal banner. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs' brand new release, Keep Climbing. I thought by using denim papers I would come out with a little more "masculine" card! ***snort*** Somehow, that didn't quit happen!!!

Thanks for stopping in and blessings to you...

A Very Special Birthday Blog Hop!

Thanks for stopping in today!  If you arrived here via Julie's blog, you are in the right spot! Thanks for helping us celebrate our beloved Randi Barrett's birthday! I hope she is surprised!

When I first joined the challenge team a year or so back, Randi was one of the first to welcome me on board. If you haven't been blessed to get to know Randi, she is a true gem. She is the whole package... humor, grace, style and talent... She's got it all! Her encouragement and prayers have helped many of us over some rough patches! And to honor her on her special day, well what else could I use but the ODBD set, Randi's Song!

So Happy Birthday Randi!
  I love ya!

The card winging it's way to Randi...

And because Randi is such a jewel I had to add some pearls and bling...

So here's a big cyber hug to ya Randi!
Pray it is the best one yet!!!!

Now don't forget readers to hop over to the ODBD blog to complete the hop and leave Randi some birthday love! Thanks so much!

A bit of coordinating striped paper at the bottom along with a festive checked die flourish add a bit of fun to the blossoms and lace.   A lovely tag with the lovely quote was added at the top.  You may find this also in the Faith set...  So soothing....

ODBDSLC117 ~ A Sketch ~

When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

And my project for the week...

The card measures 5 x 7 inches. For my base I selected a sunny yellow card stock with a pale yellow matting. The DP is from a recent Prima release called Songbird. So soft and just darling!

I split two coordinating papers and put them side by side. I used a edge punch to add the notebook like details. A swath of oatmeal colored satin ribbon was placed over the seam. I used Becca's Peg Bow Maker to create the double bow on top. To finish it off I glued a pearl center on. The sentiment I selected may be found in one of Our Daily Breads' classic sets, Randi's Song. I love this set! It never ceases to remind me of the seasons in life. So very beautiful! After cutting with a die I placed the sentiment over some die cut vines and pearl flourish. The sunflower is a Cheery Lynn Designs die with a few additional paper punched leaves for interest! Thanks for stopping by!

SC392 & WAW35 ~ Patriotic Picnic

Welcome back! So glad you took a few moments out of your busy day to stop by! This post features a card I created for a Splitcoast sketch challenge. Here's the sketch...

And my interpretation...

The doily is actually a Cheery Lynn Die cut that I cut in half and attached to the focal panel. Sometimes, things just don't fit right and you have to make adjustments. I wish blue jeans worked that way! lol... The image by Our Daily Bread Designs may be found in the Thank You Sentiments set. I colored it with Copics and added some Meadow Flower Soft for texture. Thanks for looking and until next time...

Blessings...

It is time for another Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge!  This week we have an easy peasy challenge! Use anything from Our Daily Bread Designs!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, July 8th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC114. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

This week's challenge will end Sunday, July 8 at 8 pm EST. In the future, all challenges will begin on Tuesdays at 8 a.m. EST and end on Sunday's at 8 pm EST. So mark it down on your crafting calendar!

Here's my second creation this week for our Anything Goes Challenge...

I used kraft card stock for my base with some dark chocolate card stock matting. The DP is from Bo Bunny's Little Miss collection. I distressed all edges and lightly inked it with Pumice Stone colored Distress Ink before placement. I added a sliver of kraft card stock to one side and used a die to cut a doily out of sand colored card stock. I stamped my sentiment (from ODBD's Special Blend set) on kraft before cutting with Spellbinders' Nesting Tea Cups die. I LOVE this stamp set! It's darling!

I added a Memory Box die cut for my "steam." If you look closely you will see some Stickles for bling! A blossom flourish and a bow set it off! I had a chance to my Sister Stick Becca's new bow maker! Boy, it makes tying a bow MUCH easier! And prettier! :-)

Thanks for stopping in and be sure to check out what my other Sister Sticks have for ya... Blessings...

Chris Olsen (who is taking a well deserved week off!) *** Jan Keen *** Jan Marie Ennenga *** Kathy Roney *** Rosemary Dennis *** Sabrina Jackson *** and our very special guest designer this month Sherry Kushibab!
