and the set shown here...

I used a soft brown ink to stamp the image of Christ and a darker one for the sentiment.  This time I elected to put both on the same panel instead of using a die cut.  A bit of twine adds a rustic element to the card.  I chose muted tones of blue and kraft for this one.  I didn't want to detract from the powerful image and scripture.  Thanks so much for stopping by and blessings to you as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  I will sent you on to your next stop... the ever fabulous Grace...   Blessings....

Here is today's blog hop order.

ODBD October Product Focus ~ Crown of Thorns ~

Good morning dear friends!

If you are looking for the bi-weekly Exploring Cricut challenge click HERE...

This month Our Daily Bread Designs' Product Focus features a fabulous stamp set called Crown of Thorns.
Here is the set...

and my creation using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight as my base...

I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored it with Copics. I cut the image with a die and nestled it on the larger die base. A vine die cut and blossoms add a bit of interest in the corner. I also stamped the sentiment and hand cut it before layering it with dimensional foam. A few pearls are scattered around the die for added bling.

The weekly Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge is to create something that reflects peace and calm.  Although some may think the image of Christ is not peaceful, I beg to differ.  This image reminds me just how safe and secure I am in God's love since Christ bore the punishment of my sins.  There is nothing more calming than that.  After all if Christ could give His life for me and suffer so, what do I have to worry about???  That my friends is PEACE for mind...

Thanks for stopping in and don't forget to pop by Our Daily Bread Designs' blog to see all the lovely creations made with this powerful set! Blessings...

F4A120 ~ So We May Live ~

Have you ever broke down and cryed while doing a simple task? The tears came for me Friday night. I had received an order of stamps from Our Daily Bread and excitedly sat down to color. I stamped my image, pulled out Copics and started to work. But something unusual happened during that 30 minutes at the craft table. Where a blank piece of paper was, an image of the Savior came to be. As I colored the shadows around his eyes and the shadows under his chin, my eyes began to well. I pulled out a red Copic and started to define the streams of blood on his brow and face. As tears poured down my face, I came to realize a simple truth. For each stroke of the marker was like a lash he took for me. As I colored and defined his features, I became painfully, humbly aware of the beating he took for me. I saw the blood on his face and the thorns on his brow and realized how he suffered and died so I may live... so we all may live... Thank you and blessings...

and the inside...
