DS136 ~ You Make Me Smile ~

And yes you do!  Your kind words, love and encouragement mean the world to me!  Crafters are a wonderful bunch and you always seem to know exactly what to say and when to say it!  Thank you to a wonderful heavenly Father who provides wonderful people who continue to pray for and encourage me!  Thank you so very much!

Today's card is for The Deconstructed Sketch.  I don't get to play along as often as I would like to these days.  I chose a stamp set from North Coast Creations called Floral Sentiments 3.  This time I colored my pansies a soft melon color.

And here's the stamp set I used...

and the sketch...

I created a kraft card stock base with a nice melon colored CS for accents.  The DP is all from Bo Bunny (Ambrosia).  I must admit the colors made me just a little nervous but I dove in anyway...  lol
I used a few Recollections blossoms and manipulated jet flourish to accent the sentiment panel.  All of the panels were distressed and inked with Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink.)

I hope to have a bit more craft time this week so I can put together a Valentine Heart Treat Box (hanging).  And don't forget to stop back by on February 5th as we look back at North Coast Creations' January Release.  And that same day I will have a Word Art Wednesday project to share!  Whew!  Promises to be a busy week!  Thanks for stopping by and until next time...

Blessings...

DS79 ~ God's Spirit ~

Can you feel it?  Each and every day, Christmas inches closer.  And just like a little kid perusing the Sears & Roebuck Catalog, I'm dreaming of all the possibilities.  As I write, the tree is not up and the garland isn't strung.  And I dear friends have decided not to fret about that fact!  The greenery and baubles are just that... items to take up space and time...  I am going to enjoy the process!  I would venture to say SAVOR it!  For we are never promised tomorrow and Jesus expects us to give him our best each and every day.

As I write this post, I am reminded of two lovely ladies in the crafting world that are losing their battles with cancer.  Losing is probably not the right word.  For I know each will be going home to meet their heavenly Father soon.  They have nothing to lose and everything to gain!  But for those that are left behind, the holidays often present a challenge...  an empty seat at the dinner table, an unopened gift under the tree and/or a flood of memories...  a season of rejoicing tempered with longing for those we have lost...  So I ask you to add these unspoken requests to your prayers this holiday season and to embrace those you love!

The real meaning of Christmas arrived in a dark and dirty stable all those centuries ago.  And it is through his death and resurrection we can live eternally...  no more sickness and no more pain...

Blessings...

Clear Dollar Stamps

Taking a few moments to pop in and share a card I created using Clear Dollar Stamps Digi, Christian Sympathy.   This particular verse has been turning over and over in my mind as I think about all of those dealing with Hurricane Sandy.  Continued prayers for your safety...

I am playing along with the Deconstructed Sketch shown here...

Thanks for popping in!

DS73 & TSTR136 ~ A Shabby Thank You ~

Welcome friends! It is so very nice to see you! Today, I am excited to be playing along with two challenges, The Shabby Tea Room AND The Deconstructed Sketch! I haven't had as much time to play along as of late... and this was a real treat! So here's the sketch...

and a closeup of it...

and the stamp set used...

So soft and shabby! :-) Behind the spray of roses you will find a beautiful die cut pale pink vellum heart. My new blogger friend Kathleen sent that my way! Isn't she just a dear? ***waving wildly Kathleen*** Thanks! She also sent me the most BEAUTIFUL fall card and I promise I will share a photo of it soon! You will love it as much as I do!

The challenge at The Tea Room... to combine rustic and elegant!  I embossed the wood panel DP with a Woodgrain Embossing Folder for added realism. I also threw in some pearls ***Don't I always*** and a bit of crystal embellished ribbon. Kinda reminds me of a chandelier. I also added some fun teardrop shaped gems by Recollections. Black CS matting defines the bottom layer on a kraft CS base. I also used a circle paper punch to cut and create the kraft scallop behind the icy trim. And of course all my edges are distressed and inked! So what do you think? I always love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for stopping in and don't forget to stop in later this week for my Mojo Monday entry PLUS a fun blog hop at Clear Dollar Stamps! It's gonna be SO fun! Blessings...
