Welcome to North Coast Creations' September Release!

Good Monday morning and welcome to North Coast Creations' September Release!  We have some wonderful projects to share including a bit of whimsy (gnomes) and a bit of sweet (gingerbread). And the best part?  No calories in this gingerbread!  Doesn't make my expanding waistline budge a bit!  :-)

Don't forget you can win a prize too!  Just for commenting on our posts, you have a chance to win a $10 North Coast Creations Gift Certificate, good towards the purchase of NCC Stamps.  You have until September 17, 2014 at 10:00 PM EDT to leave a comment on the North Coast Creations blog or the participating designers' blog for your chance to win.  Two random winners will be selected from the comments received and will be announced on the NCC Blog on September 18, 2014.  So be sure to check back there to see if you have won!

Now let's dive into my projects for the day.  First a bit of whimsy with Gnome What?

I colored my image and created a photo panel.  I then stamped my gnome and colored him as desired.  After hand cutting the little fellow I placed him with dimensional foam and a friendly Kraft sentiment banner.  Isn't he mischievous looking?

Here's the set I used...

Now if that isn't enough to make you laugh out loud...  just look at this darling gingerbread house stamp...

I swear I can smell the gingerbread baking!  I colored all of my gumdrops, peppermints and assorted candies before adding a layer of glitter glue on the roof.  (Makes me think it is real snow glittering in the morning sun...)  If this image doesn't put you in the mood to start on your Christmas cards...  NOTHING will!

and a couple of dies I used from our sister company

Now don't forget to visit all of my fellow "Coasters" and comment on their projects!  You might just win a prize for your efforts!  Thanks again for stopping by!

~ Versamark and Chalk Technique ~

Good morning!  Hope you are staying warm!  We had a bit of snow yesterday which made a perfect afternoon to snuggle in and craft!  I am in an experimental phase and pulled an old technique out of my bag of tricks to try!  If you haven't used Versamark and colored chalk together, you are in for some fun.  For this project, I used black card stock, a variety of chalks and a new stamp from North Coast Creations.  Here's the final product.

You will need a piece of black card stock.  (Navy also works well for this technique...)  I used several shades of pink and purple chalks.  I used cotton balls to gently swirl the color on until I achieved the desired effect.  You may also use make up applicators or cotton swabs for this as well.  I chose my image (shown below) and inked it up with Versamark Embossing ink and stamped it directly on the chalked paper.  When you lift it off, the chalk disappears!  Isn't that fun????  Just what the crafting doctor called for on a dreary day...  :-)

So here is the set I used from North Coast Creations called

I hope you get a chance to revisit this technique!  It is so easy and fun!  Until next time!

Blessings...

North Coast Creations January Release

Welcome to the North Coast Creations
January New Releases!

This month we have some LOVELY floral stamps to share!  I just know you will be in the mood to create all of those spring projects just a little bit early!  :-)

And to make this hop even more fun, we will be choosing 2 winners who will receive a $10 gift certificate to the store for stamps just for commenting on our Design Team cards!

You have until January 17, 2014 at 10:00PM EST to leave a comment on each of our designers' blog posts.  Our 2 random winners will be announced on the North Coast Creations Blog on January 18, 2014!  Please be sure to check back there to see if you have won.

I have a couple of cards to share today.  The first showcases the Floral Sentiments 2 set...

I stamped the image on Neenah Solar Crest and colored the image with Copics.  After die cutting, I added a soft brown ink to the edges.  I found out after creating the image that it is actually the flower on a castor bean plant.  I thought it looked similar to pussy willow...  so I added white Flower Soft to each blossom...  I think it turned out nicely!  I stamped the sentiment with Rich Cocoa ink on white card stock and die cut it before placing.  Very feminine and airy...  perfect to add to my card stash for the ladies in my life...

And here's the image of the stamp set itself...

I decided to go a bit more dramatic on my second card.  I used the new set Floral Sentiments 3.

This time I colored the image in deep red tones (R24, R29 & R39) and the stems in rich greens (G24 & G28).  I double matted the image with red and black die cuts and chose a musical DP for my primary background.  I stamped the sentiment (Memento Tuxedo Black) on white CS and hand cut the banner, placing it strategically by the satin bow.  I just love this color combo!  I can't wait to see poppies in my yard this spring!

And here's the stamp set image...

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing a bit of your day!  Don't forget to stop by all of my fellow "Coasters'" blogs.  I promise  you will see some amazing projects!  Hugs and blessings...

DS72 & a Blog Candy Winner! ~ Ho, Ho, Ho!

Hello Wednesday!  I am so excited to reveal my blog candy winner for Sunday's Birthday Blog Hop.  (Yes, I was one of the team members with hidden "blog candy.")  I am terrible at keeping secrets!  So glad I can reveal the winner.  :-)  Thanks to everyone who stopped by to wish Kelley Holland, the owner of Our Daily Bread Designs a happy birthday!  I know she appreciated all of your birthday wishes.  And now for the winner...  I feel like Santa Claus...  :-)

Congrats to Kathy O!

Please reach out to me within 48 hours so I can get your prize pack out!  Thanks again to everyone who took time out of their day to play along!

Today I am taking a few moments to play along with Jen at The Deconstructed Sketch. By now, everyone knows how I feel about sketches! They make me SO happy! And this one is no exception...

I decided to pull out a fun stamp set recently sent to me by Kelley Holland, owner of Our Daily Bread Designs and North Coast Creations. This set is from NCC and is called Holly Jolly Christmas. Kelley and crew travel almost every weekend to stamp and craft shows to show their wares including booths for both Our Daily Bread Designs and North Coast Creations. If you get a chance to check NCC out in person, please do! The images are darling!

Santa Claus is coming to town...

Several layers of coordinating DP by Simple Stories, kraft and card stock along with some lace and pearls make up this fun card. I love the traditional red and green but I also like nontraditional colors. I think the kraft adds a country/vintage feel. A few paper punched evergreen springs and a cute copper jingle bell add festive touches. And isn't Santa darling?  And he was a blast to color! So fun! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are working on your Christmas cards too!

Until next time...

Blessings...

Lori
