MOJO272 & TSTR145 ~ God's Gift ~

Good morning!  Hope this post finds everyone well.  I'm spending the next few days trying to get my house in order...  literally!  This holiday season has been a hectic one.  I decided a few months back I WOULD NOT stress so much about the holidays.  I think it has backfired unfortunately!  My nonchalance has proved chaotic...  lol...

Normally we put up a live tree up the day after Thanksgiving.  Due to health issues and prior commitments I was unable to get my tree until December 5th.  My husband brought it in and placed it in the tree stand.  I however, had zero extra time...  so my poor tree remained in the stand until the next day before I gave a half hearted attempt at putting lights on it.  And when I say half hearted...  well...  it looked pretty sad...  lol...  So on December 12th, I FINALLY placed ornaments on my tree after rearranging the lights.  On December 19th I discovered TWO additional cardboard boxes full of ornaments ONLY after I wondered what had happened to ONE specific ornament.  **sigh**

I think I have my tree in order just in time to take it down...  :-)

However, I have worked on cards.  Today I have one for this week's Mojo Monday and Shabby Tea Room Challenges.

The card...

Using Our Daily Bread Designs' recent releases Sparkling Snowflakes, Snowflake Sentiments and Spellbinder Snowflake Die Snowflake Die.

I used a watermark ink to stamp three snowflakes on white card stock and embossed them with silver powder.  I used the snowflake die to cut each one out and added them with dimensional foam to the focal panel.  A bit of pink seam binding adds a cut ebow with some glittered up jingle bells.  I tucked my sentiment in front of one of the snowflakes.

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me.  Until next time...  blessings...

Let's Capture Those Sketches

Today I'm sharing a couple of fun sketches.  Specifically, I have the pleasure of guest designing for Let's Capture Those Sketches.  Please hop over to their blog for complete challenge details including the link where you can  enter.  This challenge gives you not only a sketch to work with but an inspiration photo to incorporate in your work.

and my interpretation...

I tried to pull out some of the design elements from the photo...  black fixtures, stainless steel, pale green and even some Swiss dots to mimic the milk glass.  A bit of kraft paper peeks out as well...  I felt like it added a bit of brick and mortar to the look...

Now for Sketch #45...

The Pinspired Colour Challenge....

And my interpretation pulling out pink, green and white...

Well, now that you have looked at the sketches and inspiration photos, hop over to Let's Capture Those Sketches and get busy!

ODBDSLC135 ~ Snowflakes ~

It is time for another Our Daily Bread Designs' Shining the Light Challenge!

This challenge is all about snowflakes!  Use designer paper, embellishments, images or sentiments that feature snowflakes!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC135. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

Today I nestled a couple of coordinating DP's behind a CLD die.  I stamped the sentiment (Snowflake Sentiments) in a sepia ink slightly off center and nestled it under a rich red satin ribbon.  The embossed snowflake is from the Mini Snowflake set.  I placed it on kraft paper, carefully fussy cutting it and adding with a pearl to jazz up the ribbon.  Bits of paper punched greenery dress up one side of the bow.  I just LOVE the new releases!  :-)

Exploring Cricut ~ It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Welcome to another fun bi-weekly challenge at Exploring Cricut.  This time we are rejoicing that

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"

We want to see your card, layout or paper craft incorporating your favorite Christmas idea!

For me that has to be treat boxes!  I love filling them with little treats and hanging them on our tree!  It is so fun to create cute packaging for simple gifts.  My "Santa" box came from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and Accent Essentials.

Cricut Cuts

Buckle - Accent Essentials - 1.25 inches - pg. 78 (gold card stock)
Box - Tags, Bags, Boxes and More - 5.75 inches - pg. 115 (red card stock)

I scored all lines and put the box together with ScorTape.  I then cut a 1 inch strip of black card stock and adhered it to the box.  I placed the gold buckle on top and for added interest shredded some cotton balls.  I then glued them around the edges!  Super easy!  Now I just have to stuff if with some Hershey kisses!  Yum!

Thanks for stopping by!   Don't forget to visit Exploring Cricut for all the challenge details and to see what the other designers have created!

Until next time...  Blessings!

MOJO271 & TSTR144 ~ Winter's Night ~

It is a cold winter's day as I write this post, both outside and in my heart.  The terrible events of Friday have chilled me to my very bone.  I have heard the word "evil" used repeatedly in the last 48 hours.  Scripture says...

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."  Ephesians 6:12

This very card was on my craft table waiting to be photographed and blogged...

I created this card with a couple of challenges in mind including The Shabby Tea Room and Mojo Monday.  I opted to use some blossoms on this winter card to symbolize how God's spirit can warm even the darkest of nights.  No matter the depth of evil, God is there.  He can shine his warmth into the darkest of places.

There is a die cut panel nestled under the sentiment panel with a bit of ecru holly.  The stamps are by Our Daily Bread Designs and may be found in their December release.  Thanks for stopping in!

A few additional thoughts...

Do we live in a broken and dying world?  Yes.

Why is the world this way?

We live in a fallen world.  Before Adam's rebellion, the world was perfect.  God made it that way...  no death, no illness, NO SIN...  When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, they were cast out for fear they would eat fruit from the tree of life.  The fruit would allow them to live forever.  God loved his creation so much that he knew it was impossible for them to live forever in such a broken form.  He made a way.

Well, I'm a good person.  I give money to charities and help my neighbors.  I don't really sin...  I follow the ten commandments as best I can.  I haven't done anything that bad....

Being a "good person" won't cut it.  You can follow all of the commandments, follow the golden rule and still not be "good enough."  Sin is sin and according to God's law deserves corporal punishment.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

I know I am a sinner.  I want to be right with God.  I want to know I will go to Heaven if something happens to me.  What do I do?

It starts with  you.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  Romans 10:9-10

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  Romans 10:13

It's that easy.  Admit that you are a sinner.  Know that you will never be "good enough."   God loved us so much that he created a way for us to be redeemed.  He sent his son, Jesus, to die for our sins.  He suffered a horrible punishment, one that you and I deserved.  But it doesn't end there.  Christ defeated death by rising from the grave on the 3rd day.  He overcame the Devil and made a way for us to be with our heavenly Father eternally.  CONFESS that you are a sinner and accept Jesus as your Savior.

Thank you for allowing me to share my heart today!  Hugs and blessings...

Clearly Digital Stamps December Digi Release!

Welcome to the December digital release for

This month, I am working with more fun and NEW images from Clearly Digital Stamps (by Clear Dollar Stamps). So let's hop in and take a look at these delightful images.

First of all there is a uber cute set called Animal Mania, chock full of barnyard friends and others...

The set even includes this cute snail. I flipped the image and then printed it on kraft and DP paper piecing my images together. I thought they were just the cutest little "love bugs." I intertwined their antennae and added a few paper punched hearts. AWWWWW....

And then there is the color Patchpal Angel set which includes some cute background papers...

I fussy cut this little girl adding a layer of gold tulle under the Spellbinder die. And if you look closely, you will find some Stickles on her wings and robe trim. Just darling!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to visit the other DT members to see all of the exciting releases this month! Hugs and blessings...

RS41 ~ Love Was Born ~

Good morning dear blogger friends!  Popping in today to share a card I created for this week's Retro Sketch.  I used one of Our Daily Bread Designs' recent release,  Chickadee Ornament along with my new favorite Spellbinder set, Layered Poinsettia.  I just can't get enough of this paper flower!!!  This time I opted to go with a blue one...

The card...

using the Chickadee Ornament set...

based on Retro Sketch #41...

I just love using black and white DP with a splash of color! I spritzed the poinsettia with a bit of Glimmer mist for shimmer and added a rhinestone flourish behind the main panel. If you look closely, you will see I embossed the white panel with a swiss dots folder. Super cute! And I LOVE ODBD's Chickadee Ornament set! It is so versatile! I can pull these sentiments out to whip out some lovely cards! Well, thanks for stopping by and until next time... blessings...

Exploring Cricut Daily Post ~ That Yellow Star ~

Happy Friday and welcome to another fun project at Exploring Cricut!

Today, I created a simple Christmas card using a fun new cartridge for me, Create a Critter 2!  Any similarities between this yellow star and my favorite department store symbol are purely coincidental...  ;-)

The card measures 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches.  The base was made with white Bazzill card stock adding a layer of red and a final embossed Neenah Solar Crest layer.  I used my Cuttlebug folder, Snowflakes for embossing.  The star measures out to 3 inches while the sentiment is 2 inches.  I layered both the star and word happy with dimensional foam for some pop.  And the final touch?  Some strategically placed pearls...  Easy and fun...

Now on to some shopping...  lol...

Have a wonderful day!  Until next time...

Blessings...

If not, head over to ODBD's Blog for a full link list.

So which one is my favorite?  Well, that is a hard one.  Each set is like a child...  how can you love one more than another?  :-)  But there is one set, particularly this time of year I find myself gravitating toward.  That set is Blessed Christmas.  It is one of the first sets I purchased when I discovered Our Daily Bread Designs.  At that time, I was just starting to work with Copics and let me tell ya, I practiced and practiced and practiced with this set.  It is one of those go to sets I pull out every Christmas.  This time I opted not to color the image but do a very light inking/stamping with distress ink on the focal panel.

Here is what the entire set, Blessed Christmas, looks like.  Isn't it lovely?

Now I will send you on your way to visit Angie's awesome blog!
Make sure to leave her some love! Big hugs and thanks so much for stopping by!
