MOJO260 ~ Great Things ~

Thanks so much for stopping by! I am dropping in to share a card I created for few challenges this week including the Mojo sketch challenge. Time has been limited as of late.

Do you ever feel like you have little if anything to share? After a few days of work related travel, I have felt EXACTLY like way! Finally, I plopped myself at the craft table and DARED myself to come up with something.

The sketch...

and my interpretation...

I know... extremely frilly and over the top! See what happens when I make myself create something! Still not sure how I feel about it but was determined to share...

Thanks for stopping by!

Exploring Cricut Daily Post ~ Burlap Scrap Wreath

Happy Friday and welcome to another fun day at Exploring Cricut

I have had a blast this week trying to think outside the box.  It seems like I get in a creative rut!  And that means using my Expression for cards and/or scrapbook layouts.  Am I the ONLY one who does that?  Whew!  So glad you raised your hand too!

So this week I decided to tackle a home decor project.  And since owls and burlap are all the rage on this side of the Ohio river, I opted to make a wreath...

Specifically a burlap strip wreath with a Cricut Monogram and owl....

And a closeup of the main attraction. Isn't he cute?

The monogram is actually a chipboard and card stock sandwich.
I cut both layers at 11 inches (using Base Camp) and glued them together. The owl is 9.25 inches and may be found on the Give a Hoot cartridge. I embossed the white feathers around the eyes with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. Unfortunately, it is a bit difficult to see. But I really love the effect. I think this little gem will go on my front door. (It is sheltered so it shouldn't be an issue.)

There are tons of burlap wreath tutorials on the Internet. This one is made up of scraps (about 1 inch wide) tied in knots on a 16 inch 4 ring wire form. It looks time consuming but really isn't! Those are the best kind of projects right? Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you again soon!

Blessings...

Clear Dollar Stamps ~ Just Like a Snowglobe ~

Kentucky has some of the most beautiful rolling hillsides you will ever see.  The views vary depending on exactly what part of the state you visit.  I grew up in the outer bluegrass region, a lush area which gives way to the Knobs region.

Recently Fleming County, hosted a covered bridge festival.  Fleming County is know as the Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky.

When Clear Dollar Stamps released this digital set, Covered Bridges, I had to go to work!
I selected a serene Christmas scene and created a shaker card.  It kinda reminds me of a beautiful snow globe...

And the inside...

I think I might just starting humming a Christmas carol... Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings...

ODBDSLC124 ~ All About the Melody

It is time for another Our Daily Bread Designs' Shining the Light Challenge...

This challenge is all about the melody!

(This challenge lasts 2 weeks!)

Create a card or project with some musical element. It can include a musical theme, words in the sentiment or verse having to do with music or instruments, an embossing folder or designer paper.  Let your musical imagination go wild!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on nor will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them! As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, October 7th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC124. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

And my creation for the week...

I chose a couple of musical elements.  One layer of designer paper has musical notes all over it.  I also opted to use a Scripture stamp referencing singing and music.  (Oh, how I love to make a "joyful" noise...)  A shabby rose is surrounded by bits of paper punched foliage and pearls.  I also added a few burgundy blossoms to break up the neutral tones.  When I think of singing, my mind naturally turns to birds.  So I pulled a few craft feathers out of my stash and tucked a few behind the flower grouping.  Kinda shabby and eclectic...  So whatcha think?

Make sure to stop by and visit my sister sticks! They have some wonderful creations to share! And don't forget to leave them some love!  Thanks so much to Katherine Lawson, our special guest this month!

Clear Dollar Stamps ~ Applelicious

Happy Monday!  Stopping by to share my second post of the day!  If you looking for the Exploring Cricut challenge post click HERE.

We have officially crossed over into fall!  And for me that means at least one trip to the local apple orchard!  I love picking out some delicious apples to take home, pondering new pie recipes and sipping apple cider.  And if the weather cooperates, sometimes we might just have a little nip to the air!

Today, I selected a digital from Clear Dollar Stamps called Applelicious

This little gem just screams fall!  I added a bit of gingham paper distressed and inked.  I also embossed it with a favorite woven EF.  I printed the apple, cut it out and placed it with dimensional foam for depth.  To frame it all off, I matted the gingham with a bit of chocolate colored card stock.  Yum...  another rich fall color!  Well, off to create some more cards!  Until next time...  blessings....

Exploring Cricut ~ Trains, Planes & Automobiles

Welcome to another fun challenge at Exploring Cricut! This time we are thinking

 Trains, Planes and Automobiles!

And to get us moving in the right direction, I created a birthday card for one of the boys using My World.

I created 2 cuts for the train body and scored one image a quarter inch from the top.  I then adhered the two together with scor-tape.  I customized the train by using fun font to print our last name and matted it with left over black CS.  Super cute!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time...  blessings!

MOJO259 ~ Harvest of Memories

Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you and yours are having a wonderful, worship filled and restful Sabbath!  As I write this, I am preparing for a short business trip and attempting to tie up some loose ends.  Tons of laundry, dishes and the like to do...  plus I am frantically preparing posts for the upcoming weeks!

I have several fun projects this week.  For Cricut fans, I will post a couple of Exploring Cricut projects this week.  Our Daily Bread Designs' weekly Shining the Light Challenge is Tuesday PLUS I will be joining the alumni crew for a hop Thursday!  I will also share a cute card using some digis from Clear Dollar Stamps.  It promises to be a fun filled week!

In the meantime, I am sharing my take on the weekly Mojo sketch shown here...

And my interpretation...

I had the opportunity to attend a card class a few nights ago. My friend Emily, created some fun projects for us to do. We talked about the plethora of stamps we own... (and how there must be a ten step program for this...) Sadly, I realized I have a stack of cute fall images that I am under utilizing. So today, I pulled out one and knocked some dust off of it. I chose Close To My Hearts' So Grateful set.

I stamped the pumpkin image with a slightly lighter ink followed by the word layer in a deeper shade. I also stamped the leaf in several colors and cut them out individually to add with dimensional foam. I embossed the background with an embossing folder to mimic lattice. The circle form tucked in behind the focal panel is a bit of burlap cut with a Spellbinder die. Instead of my normal spray of flowers, I grouped together some random buttons. It feels a bit more like fall to me...

Thanks so much for stopping by and check in each day this week to see the projects I have. I may even have two on one day! ;-)

Blessings...

Clear Dollar Stamps ~ Comfort

My goodness!  The word comfort conjures up images of mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and my Mom's chocolate meringue pie...  all the things that make your troubles seem so far away...

I love my Mom dearly, however, I know my time with her is temporary.  So what fills the void when everything else fails?  Mac and cheese (as great as it is) won't make problems go away!  In fact, it may cause a whole new series of issues as my blood pressure and waistline will attest!  :-)

This lovely sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps' Digital collection, Christian Sympathy, says it all...

Aren't you glad we don't have to go it alone? I know I am! Hugs and blessings...

If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC123. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to our challenge.

And my creation for the week...

I stamped three separate images a butterfly, bee and dragonfly on a white background.  Some of the images were stamped initially and then restamped giving a noticeably lighter image the second time around.  I matted this layer with gray card stock and then added a sentiment panel highlighted with a lovely 2 step butterfly!  A few jet beads create the little guy's body.  A little bit more CAS than usual but oh so fun!  Thanks for stopping in!

Make sure to stop by and visit my sister sticks! They have some wonderful creations to share! And don't forget to leave them some love!

MOJO258 & C4C154 ~ A Mosaic ~

If you are stopping by to check out Clear Dollar Stamps' September Release click HERE

What a glorious day in Kentucky!  The sun is shining, temps are mild and God's glorious creation surrounds me!  I absolutely LOVE this time of year!  Rich colors, crisp air and the beauty that is an autumn afternoon...

With that theme in mind, I pulled out a variety of papers and images to create a card celebrating the season.  I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch...

And my take...

I distressed and inked the gingham layer before dry embossing with a fun paisley folder. I placed a couple of strips of faux "wood planking" behind the sentiment panel for that fall farm feel. Doesn't it remind you of a fabulous apple orchard on a crisp fall afternoon? The leaves and acorn are stamps that I inked on coordinating papers and hand cut for interest. A few ecru pearls and a strategically placed flourish add some bling. And just for fun I added a few buttons with cotton cording.

I just LOVE fall! Can't you tell? :-)

Hugs and blessings...

Clear Dollar Stamps Digi September Release ~

Good morning!  So glad to see you!

I have some special news to share.  For the next few months (4 to be exact)  I will be working with and sharing some new items.  I have joined the Clear Dollar Stamps Digital Crew!

What is a digital?  I'm trying my hand at working with digital stamps, or those you print right off of your PC and create with.  You can manipulate sizes and colors...  They are so versatile!  And that makes your creative possibilities endless!  So to celebrate the occasion, I have a few projects to share using a couple of new September releases.  Be sure to check out the CDS Blog and Clear Dollar Stamps website to find details on how to purchase plus a fabulous tutorial on working with Digis...  I look forward to sharing more wonderful digi stamps of faith from Clear Dollar...  So let's dive in...

For my first card I selected Lori McCroskey's Leaves set...

Isn't it darling!  I printed the digital background with the lovely inspirational message and cut/embossed it with a Spellbinders die.  I added a bit of dark brown card stock cut with the coordinating Petite Scalloped die.  The maple leaf (also a digi from this set) was altered to give it a warm orange color and hand cut before placing it on top with dimensional foam.  The DP layer was lightly distressed on all edges and inked for depth.  I just love this image!  So simple and so very elegant!

Now for another peek...  This one uses Austin Owen's Garden set.

This one is so yummy!  I can't get enough of inspirational quotes and C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite authors.  So this set immediately grabbed my eye and my heart!  The base is 6 x 6 inches and is double matted.  The houndstooth pattern actually came from a Halloween paper pad.  I really like the menwear feel of it...  I printed the sentiment and flower border on white card stock and trimmed.  I added a bit of bling with a dash of Stickles glitter glue on the three blossoms and a silver flat backed adhesive pearl on each.  So easy!

Be sure to check out the other fabulous projects my DT sisters have to share!  There is so much to share!  Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings....

Exploring Cricut ~ Daily Post ~ Trick or Treat!

Welcome to another GLORIOUS Friday!

I have this particular one off so you may just see me dance a jig!  :-)  So while you are attempting to get that goofy visual image out of your head you might want to glance at my Exploring Cricut treat bucket project this week...

The treat bucket may be found on Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. I cut each at 6.5 inches. Mr. Mummy got an extra layer of distressed white crepe paper. I added a bit of adhesive spray to get it to stick! The fun faces (cut at 2 inches) are from my Pumpkin Carving cart that I always seem to forget about! Super fun and super easy! I think I see a Frankenstein in my future... Thanks for stopping by!

Here's what I created this week...

Using this lovely set of images and scripture entitled The Good Seed

The base layer was embossed with a Polka Dot Embossing Folder and stitched around the edges. I added a few coordinating DP pieces under the focal panel to resemble a quilt. A floral doily die inked lightly makes a feminine first layer while the rust circle die adds a bit of contrast. The sentiment (ODBD's The Good Seed)
was stamped on coordinating paper and cut with a circle die. A bit of ecru seam binding was tucked behind with a fluffy bow for dimension. I also added a tiny acorn die cut with both leaves and branches tucked behind the bow. And I can't forget the gold flat backed pearls!

Now I will send you on your way to Our Daily Bread Designs' WONDERFUL blog. Make sure to leave some love at this final stop! Blessings and thanks so much for stopping by!

MOJO257 ~ Thanks a Bunch!

Good morning!  Hope all is well in your corner of the world!  Today, I have another thank you card to share.  I'm TRYING to work with traditional card sizes...  This one is an A2 or 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  I took the opportunity to pull the Mojo sketch and create a card perfect for that special teacher...

And the sketch that inspired it all...

I created the flower by stamping two flower images from Verve's Bloom & Grow set, cutting them out, molding them with a stylus and stacking them with dimensional foam. I finished them off with a vintage looking brad. The leaves are also a Verve stamp, individually hand cut and applied to embellish the blossom. A few punched circles create my scallop topped with adhesive lace by Recollection. A pearl flourish, cut and strategically placed add a bit of feminine flair. Both the leaves and sentiment may be found in Verve's Great Friend set.

Thanks for stopping by! See ya next time!

F4A132, WAW43 & SSIC155 ~ Birthday Blessings

Happy, happy Labor Day to you!  Hoping you are having a nice LONG weekend!  Things are a little rainy here but that allows me to focus on my house.

Thank you to everyone who has kept my Mom in your prayers!  She is doing well and is able to spend more time on her own.  It will be at least 4-6 more weeks of zero weight on her foot.  She seems to be getting stronger each and every day!  What a blessing!

So this weekend, I am attending to some badly needed household chores and even some crafting!  Funny thing happened on the way to my craft table...  everything was just so MESSY!!!  So in the process, I had to move furniture and reorganize.  Whew!  Didn't know I was in for that!  lol...  Hubs says when I get in these moods to look out!!!  ;-)

Today I have a birthday card to share using a couple of ODBD sets.

I stamped the new ODBD set, Keep Climbing on kraft twice with Memento ink. I then matted the image with black, brown and another layer of black card stock. I selected a sentiment from the Happy Birthday collection. A few Kaisercraft pearls (black) finish it off. Very simple and a nice masculine card to add to my collection!

Thanks for stopping in and until next time... blessings...

Operation Write Home, MOJO256 & WAW43!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wanted to share a project I created this week for Mojo Monday. (And since it is Sunday, I better get this gem posted... lol...)

But I also wanted to share a very worthwhile project going on over at Operation Write Home.

For those of you who are not familiar with it, this program gathers handcrafted cards and distributes them to our brave men and women in uniform. By donating handcrafted cards, you enable servicemen and women to send lovely cards home to their loved ones! Isn't that cool?

There are a few rules. For example, you cannot use glitter on your creations.  So you will want to check out all the guidelines.  You can find all the details HERE. And to make things even more exciting they have challenges for you to participate in! In fact each month, Our Daily Bread Designs sponsors a fabbo challenge. My dear friend and fellow DT member, Angie Crockett is hosting this month. So please stop by and check it out! I know you will get a blessing out of participating! Click HERE to check out Angie's challenge.

Thanks to Kelley Holland at ODBD for being such a supporter of this worthwhile cause!

Now I have a card to share for you today using the weekly Mojo Monday sketch...

And the card...

I started with two die cut scallops using my Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge. I then added a Cheery Lynn Designs die cut doily and a Spellbinders die cut denim DP. I used coordinating papers to create the two vertical banners but opted to used a Zva light blue pearl spray to mimic the horizontal banner. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs' brand new release, Keep Climbing. I thought by using denim papers I would come out with a little more "masculine" card! ***snort*** Somehow, that didn't quit happen!!!

Thanks for stopping in and blessings to you...
