A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' October Release

Good morning and welcome to a special look back at this month's Our Daily Bread Designs' October 1st release.  Here is the card I created using Christmas Tunes. For more inspiration using the October Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog. I started with a 5.25 x 5.25 rich red card stock base and layered it up.

I chose this sentiment from the new Christmas Tunes set and used the coordinating Vintage Labels Die to cut it out.  A bit of greenery and a lush poinsettia (Fancy Foliage and Peaceful Poinsettias Die) set off the corner.  If you look closely you can even see a couple of jingle bells in the mix!  I adhered two sheets of the new Christmas Paper Collection 2015 pages together and folded them back to create my pocket.  The Doily Die and Ornate Borders and Flowers Die accent it.

So here are the items you see today...

and some old favorites...

Don't forget to stop by and visit my design team sisters to see what they have created!  Thanks as always for stopping in!

Blessings...

ODBD ~ Such a Blessing ~

Yes, indeed!  What a blessing!  Thank you so much for taking a few moments to stop by and share your day.  Today, I would like to share not only a project but a special Bible verse that has been on my heart.

"And He has filled them with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship..."   Exodus 35:31  NASB

God's people, led by Moses, were preparing the Tabernacle.  And God had gifted certain people in the group with all sorts of skills...  from embroidery to weaving, from working with gold to cutting gems and wood carving...  Every possible skill and talent was represented in that group!  God gave each and every one of those gifts, knowing that they would return fruit one day.  The talents, He so graciously bestowed, were used to build his Temple...  the most amazing place of it's time...  a beautiful, amazing place that God could call home when he came to his people.  It was not only a place designed to house God but to worship Him and as such demanded perfection, exquisite beauty in each and every detail.  A job like that must have been daunting!  I can imagine those craftspeople saying "WHO ME???"  "I'm not nearly as talented as that guy over there!"  But God had given those gifts and they were perfect.  How could He give anything else to those He loves?

As I sit here at my craft table, elbow deep in glitter...  I feel His presence with me.  It is at times like this when I sit back and reflect upon the project I have made that I feel Him the most.  Yes, I feel the Holy Spirit when I read my Bible, in prayer or studying his word.  But, I feel him the most when I am working with paper and ink, crafting cards with Bible verse and scripture, using the gifts He so generously gave.  I know there are many crafters out there who are more talented than me.  It isn't about that.  It's about knowing I am doing what the Creator designed me to do and feeling Him smile.  Here's to another day of glue and glitter...

God Bless...

~ Thinking of You ~

Welcome!  Today, I have a card featuring Our Daily Bread Designs' Chalkboard Paper Collection.  I love sets that pull it all together for you!  This set even includes sentiment panels.  This set is perfect to just cut and go!  I can't wait to show you!

I started with a black card stock base and added a white mat.  I chose the Swiss dot DP print for my base layer.  I inked up a border image from Our Daily Bread Designs' Ornate Borders and Flowers set with black on white card stock.  I then used the coordinating Ornate Borders & Flower Die to cut it and placed it over two borders (ODBD's Beautiful Borders die) woven together with burgundy satin ribbon.  I cut the sentiment (found in the Chalkboard Paper Collection) out with the coordinating ODBD die, Vintage Flourish Pattern.  A bit of greenery (from the Fancy Foliage die) and mulberry rose are nestled at each corner.  I LOVE the distressed feel of this one!  :-)

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' December Release

Happy Friday!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' December release.  If you haven't picked up a gift for the stamper on your list and/or someone needs to pick up something for you...  look no further!  These sets are designed to work together to create beautiful cards for all occasions!  And speaking of occasions...  it's hard to believe the month is nearly over!  Today's card will go to a dear friend who is struggling.  She needs a bit of encouragement and I pray this will do the trick!

Now for the layers....  I used a Spellbinder die and embossing folder to create my card base.  I cut 4 dies from the Ornate Borders and Flower set, split them in half and layered them under another fancy die (in white card stock).  I stamped the border image in a soft green and the sentiment in black before using the coordinating die to cut and emboss it.  I garnished the top with mulberry roses and white vines from the foliage die along with greenery from that same set.

If you haven't had a chance to see what the other "Sticks" have created please check out the links below!  {{hugs}}

~ Manly Plaid + Feminine Doily = One Cool Card ~

I am having so much fun working with this month's Our Daily Bread Designs' release!  (Ok, I have fun EVERY month working with the new stamps!)  My husband swears the smell of new stamps is intoxicating for me!  ;-)

Here's a decidedly frilly project using some new papers in my stash and a whole lotta dies, frills and glue!  It has so many components it reminds me of my Mom's Jam Cake recipe she pulls out every Christmas!  Those cakes are a whole lotta work but boy do they taste FABULOUS!

So here it is, completely calorie free and in honor of my baking analogy...  there's a real honest to goodness doily tucked in there!

~ Ornate Borders ~

Good morning!  Hope you are having a blessed Lord's day!  The weather outside is frightful!  So frightful in fact, that I had to cancel a business trip for tomorrow!  I love looking at snow but it tends to annoy me when I have to change my travel plans.  But when life gives you lemons you make lemonade.  So I guess in this case, I will make snowballs and have an old fashioned snowball fight!  :-)

Today I have a wonderful card to share featuring a few things from the December release at Our Daily Bread Designs...

and some of the ODBD products I used...

Ornate Background

Ornate Borders Sentiments

Ornate Borders and Flowers

and coordinating

 Ornate Borders & Flower Die

I began with a 5.5 x 4.25 inch card base in a rich red.  I then used the Ornate Background stamp to create my next layer on white card stock.  After trimming it slightly smaller, I added it to the base layer.  I cut a smaller piece of card stock and used a Spellbinder ornament shaped die to create a frame.  I added it with dimensional foam and stamped coordinating corners using Ornate Borders and Flowers.  I added those after trimming by hand and used Ornate Borders Sentiments, Ornate Borders and Flowers and the Ornate Borders & Flower Die to create my sentiment.  I added it to a seam binding bow (dressed up with a pearl) and added it to the top!  Love the shadow look!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will have several projects to share this week including another Word Art Wednesday project, Exploring Cricut, North Coast Creations and a few Our Daily Bread Designs' posts!  WHEW!!!  And stop back tomorrow as I share some of the home décor things going on at my house!  I thought I might give you a peek into some of the Christmas decorating going on at the Ulrichs'!  ;-)

Until next time...

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' December Release

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' December New Release Hop!

This month we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  His life given for us, was the most precious gift ever given!  This month, we are sharing some lovely sets that help you express your thanks, uplift a friend or just remind someone you are thinking of them!  Sentiment sets are so handy!  And when you have a coordinating set that includes everything from a background to dies...  well...  it's FABULOUS!

AND you have a chance to get your hands on these or other ODBD stamps of your choosing!  How, you ask?  Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps.  You have until December 2, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. EST to make your comments!  The winners will be posted on the  ODBD Blog on December 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

So would you like to take a peek at these new sets?

Here's one using Ornate Frame Sentiments, Ornate Borders and Flowers plus the coordinating Ornate Borders & Flower Die...

and here are what the complete sets look like...

I stamped the Ornate Border image with a Danube blue ink on white card stock.  I used the coordinating die to cut out the image.  I scored a second piece and used the die to cut out a coordinating hinged back.  (Make sure your die is above the fold so you have a hinge to glue your focal image on.)  I stamped the top sentiment layer (with smaller ornate border stamp) and used the die to cut it out as well.  I split the blue die cut in two and added the halves to the bottom for interest.  A couple of blue rhinestone finish it off!  I just love it!

Now this one uses the Ornate Background stamp, Ornate Borders and Flowers along with the No Words set.  The Ornate Borders & Flower Die ties it all together.

and here are the ones I added into the mix...

I scored the white card base with a triangular pattern and stamped the ornate pattern (light gray) on white card stock.  I used a gray CS to mat it before positioning it with dimensional foam.  I added my own rosette (created by scoring a 12 inch piece of gray card stock at 1/4 inch intervals).  I used the Ornate Border stamp to create my sentiment panel (plus coordinating die) and added the sentiment in black (No Words set).  A few strategically placed pearls finish it off!

So what do you think?  Didn't I tell you these sets would help fill out your stamping needs?  Now, don't forget to stop and share the love with the other "Sticks" for chance to win!  Thanks for stopping by!  {{hugs}}
