Happy Easter!

Good morning!  Happy Easter!  Today I would like to share a slightly different card...  not a traditional Easter card...  I love this sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs' Superstar stamp set.  

We are created in His image.   Imagine if he loves his creation (in this case the stars) enough to name each one...  I can only imagine how much he loves us!  He suffered, bled and died for our sins!  But it didn't end there.  He arose from the grave 3 days later...  He defeated death once and for all so we can spend eternity with Him, if we accept Him as a personal Lord and Savior!

ODBD ~ Wishing Well ~

I love to color.  And with the popularity of adult coloring books, many other people must love to color too!  I don't have the time I once did to color images.  But when I do, look out!  I will be hunched over my desk for hours!  **and my back loves to tell me about it**

Today, I have an image to share from Our Daily Bread Designs' Wishing Well set.  I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper, colored it and used a few dies to frame it.

I started with a deep navy card stock base and trimmed the DP (Christian Faith Paper Collection) slightly smaller for my mat.  I also cut another panel, also slightly smaller with white card stock.  I used the Leafy Edged Borders Die to create a wave border and slightly offset the white panel to create an area for my die cut sentiment.  After coloring my image, I used the Circles Die to cut it out and used a soft blue ink and scalloped punch to create a cloudy sky.  I pulled out the coordinating Double Stitched Circles Die and created a mat layer with the dark navy paper.  

I love using dies for my sentiment!  So fun!

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' September Release

Today, we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' September Release.  I chose to create a project featuring the Under the Sea  stamp set along with the new Leafy Edged Borders Die.  For more inspiration using the September Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

I opted to do a center step card with a cadet gray base.  I stamped my image on Neenah Solar Crest and colored the image with Copics.  I sponged in various shades of yellow and orange inks to create the sky before stamping my sentiment.  I used 2 nested dies from ODBD's Matting Circles Die set to create the gray frame and placed it along with the die cut image on the center panel with dimensional foam.  I also incorporated a lovely fish DP that you may find in ODBD's Christian Faith paper Collection.   

I chose a rich navy blue and white card stock to create my waves.  I used the new Leafy Edged Borders Die to achieve the look and layered them together.

A Look Back at North Coast Creations' February Release

Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations' February Release.  Here are a couple of cards I created using Pansies  and Hippity Hoppity.
I just love those cheery faced Pansies!  
There is something about them that makes me smile.  I love them so much in fact that I couldn't stop coloring them.  As a result you see them in both of my projects!  ;-)

Let's start with a clean and simple 

project featuring Pansies...

 I started with a violet card stock base (5.5 x 4.25 inches).  I added a white mat and another violet mat.  I finished with a designer paper print from NCC's sister company, Our Daily Bread Designs.  This print may be found in their Christian Faith Paper Collection.  I stamped the sentiment with a Grape Jelly hued ink (YUM) and hand cut the banner and violet mat.  I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored the image with Copics before fussy cutting.  I added both the banner and pansy image with dimensional foam.

I have to say, I LOVE THIS SENTIMENT and the scene!

Isn't he DARLING????  I started with a white CS card base (5.5 x 4.25 inches) and added a violet mat.  (Yes, I was trying to use up all of that gorgeous purple CS...)  I added another white mat for my scene.  But before placing the final layer, I used a scalloped paper punch, Summer Sky ink and a sponge dauber to create a "cloudy" sky!  The pansies are actually a set of two separate images, colored and fussy cut.  I added them to the base with dimensional foam.  I tucked two rows of die cut grass (another item from Our Daily Bread Designs...  Grass Die...)  One layer of grass is stuck directly to the background.  The other is layered on with dimensional foam.  I stamped the adorable bunny from Hippity Hoppity on Neenah Solar Crest and lightly colored his paw pads, ears and fur.  I fussy cut him as well and added dimensional foam so he appears to be resting in the posies!  I added a fun stamped/die cut egg (Our Daily Bread Designs' Blessed Easter stamp set and coordinating Eggs Die).  I stamped the sentiment (Hippity Hoppity) directly on the background with black ink.

~ Don't Get Discouraged ~

Happy Friday!  The end of another work week is here!  I find myself in a deeply reflective mood this week.  Have you ever had a case of the "might have beens?"  You know, when you question some of the choices you have made in life?  I'm sure that you have thought about those a few times as well. 

 

I love my life and who I am.  There are times when I feel that I should have done more, that I have not accomplished enough...  I'm sure that is Satan whispering in my ear...  trying to erode my confidence.  Isn't that what the great deceiver does so well?  Telling us we are never good enough...  and yes that is true...  But I don't have to be "good enough."  Jesus was the perfect sacrifice and through our Lord's grace and mercy I don't have to worry about being good enough.  Don't get me wrong.  We must strive to be better people, strong Christians and to do the right thing.  However, just because we mess up it doesn't mean we lose our value in the sight of our Lord.  He loved us enough to send his son to die for us.  That tells me I am "good enough."   

 

I found this sentiment to be particularly encouraging this week.  Sometimes we have to try a few "keys" before we can unlock the door.  Life may take a few different turns but what we unlock...  abundant life... is what really matters...  I hope it serves to inspire you as well.

I started with a Kraft card stock base (5.5 x 4.25 inches) and a double mat (white & navy).  I added a soft blue and white DP (from ODBD's Christian Faith Collection.)  I used a paper crimper on the Kraft panel and added two white die cut edgings from ODBD's Antique Labels and Border Die.  The sentiment (Keys to Heaven) was stamped with a dark blue ink on white card stock before cutting.  I highlighted the sentiment with a slightly larger navy card stock panel and a few sprigs of greenery created with the Fancy Foliage Die.  The blossoms (created with the Ornamental Crosses Die) have a tiny pearl center.  I added a bit of jute under the panel and affixed two die cut keys created from the new die set, Angel Wings.  A bit cleaner design for me.  Definitely brings a smile to my face!  Thanks for stopping by!

STS18 ~ Eternal Life ~

Today I have a card to share featuring this week's Seize the Sketch.  I decided to use a soft moss green and navy blue since I used a dragonfly image near the scripture panel. 

 

I began with a soft moss color card stock for my base, adding a white matting.  I added a navy mat before the final DP layer (2 coordinating designs) from Our Daily Bread Designs' Christian Faith Collection.  I lightly distressed the edges.  I stamped the sentiment (The Cross) on white card stock with a soft green ink.  After cutting the panel and navy frame, I added a white border (Beautiful Borders) to cover the DP seam and die cut vines (Fancy Foliage).  I added a few mulberry roses as well.  I stamped the dragonfly image (Dragonfly Mini) on Copic compatible paper and colored it.  I then hand cut the image and added a bit of glitter glue to the wings.  Once it dried, I slightly bent the "wings" and added it to my panel with dimensional foam.

Welcome April AND New Releases from Our Daily Bread Designs!

Good morning!  Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs'  April release!  The daffodils are showing their bright sunny faces!  And that means Easter is just around the corner.  I am SO excited to share this month's release with you!  There are beautiful die cut crosses, wonderful sentiments and papers that will help you put together all of your Resurrection Sunday projects!

I promised some beautiful die cuts and sentiments! 
And here is my first release project featuring Vintage Flourish Pattern Die, the coordinating Flourish Label Borders stamp set and The Cross. 

I die cut the flourish die cut card base twice, folding one panel roughly a quarter inch thus creating a fold for the main panel.  I then used a royal blue ink and stamped a label border on the card base.  I die cut another panel which includes the sentiment (from The Cross) and a label border.  I added it to the card base with dimensional foam.  A prior release, Fancy Foliage creates the greenery nestled under those sweet lemon and pink mulberry roses.  I just love the dainty, feminine feel of this project. 

Now if that isn't enough, here is another one that includes a fabulous die cut cross nestled on top of a shaker panel brimming with spring colored blossoms.

I started with a lavender and yellow base nestled under a lovely DP from the new Christian Faith Paper Collection.  I created a shaker panel with some left over acetate from a die cut package and a lovely frame created with the Vintage Flourish Die.  I filled the shaker with a spring colored mix of craft sprinkles and sealed the panel with another die cut from a sheet of matching designer paper.  I added a mix of lavender, purple and yellow blossoms with a bit of die cut greenery.  I stamped this powerful sentiment from The Cross on coordinating card stock and added it to the mix.  A lovely die cut white cross (Ornamental Crosses Die) sits on top of the shaker panel.
