The Bing Online Dictionary defines the word anchor three ways:
If you focus on the first two definitions, you find that an anchor is something that holds an object in place. It keeps us "grounded" so to speak. If you were a ship, an anchor keeps you from drifting away. This is particularly important when you are experiencing rough weather. Without an anchor, the ship could go whichever way the water moves and put the ship and it's passengers into a potentially dangerous situation.
The Bible says in Hebrews 6:19 KJV
"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the vail;"
Our hope in Christ guarantees our safety, just like a strong anchor secures a ship and keeps it's cargo safe. Our anchor is moored in heaven, with God Himself, whereas a ship's anchor must go down to the very depths of the ocean to secure it.
What are you relying on to keep you safe? Where is your anchor? Blessings...
Today's card...
and some of the Our Daily Bread Designs' products you see...
Based on this week's MOJO Monday Sketch...
Today's card is on a 5.5 x 4.25 card base. I chose a pale pink for my base layer with a darker salmon CS for my matting. All of the DP you see here comes from ODBD's Blushing Rose Paper Collection. For my top layers I chose to add another layer of Kraft mat before putting down my DP. I stamped the sentiment (Anchor the Soul) with a rich brown ink and die cut using the Pennants Die set. I tied a pale pink seam binding bow and added a cream pearl flourish with some vines created with ODBD's Fancy Foliage Die.
And now for the supply list...
