TSTR214 - " Easter Sweetness" at The Shabby Tea Room

Welcome!  I'm so very happy you could stop by!  I am so excited to share a special project I created for this week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.   Debbie graciously asked me to guest design this week.  And when I took a look at the challenge, I fell in love!

This week our challenge is called
"Easter Sweetness."

The challenge...  create a card/project inspired by the photo below and INCLUDE POLKA DOTS AND STRIPES!

And here's my interpretation using some fun items from Paper Sweeties.

My card base is a soft pink card stock with white matting.  I then layered a soft pink swiss dot DP with a soft blue stripe on the opposite side.  All edges are distressed.  I covered the seam where the two joined with white seam binding and adhered them to my white matting.

The next layer is a simple Wilton doily affixed squarely in the middle.  I then placed a piece of  floral/newspaper print DP (also distressed) in the middle.  I placed it slightly askew for interest.  I added a white seam binding bow on top.

The eggs and chick were stamped on Copic compatible paper and colored.  I used the coordinating dies to cut each out.  I placed all three with dimensional foam.  I added a tiny jet bead for the eye and dabbed Liquid Pearls on each "dot" for depth.  A bit of glitter glue adorns the center of the little chick's flower.  I added a few paper punched leaves and mulberry roses after stamping my sentiment on plain white CS and placing it as shown.  Four seed pearls are affixed to each corner.  So how did it turn out?

For complete challenge details and how you can link your project please stop by The Shabby Tea Room.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

And the items I used...

Paper - Georgia Pacific, Bazzill, The Paper Studio, MME Portobello Road, Simple Stories Vintage Bliss, Neenah Solar Crest
Inks - Copic, Memento Tuxedo Black
Misc. - Recollections Pearls, Wilton Doily, Paper Punches by MS Crafts, Seam Binding, Mulberry Roses
Liquid Pearls - White Opal
Stickles - Diamond

So let's jump right in!  Today I decided to create something for Christmas with a few non-traditional colors...

Today's card features the O' Christmas Tree
set.

I used a sketch for this card design.  I stamped the tree image with dark cocoa ink on white card stock and lightly colored the star with an ink marker before adding glitter glue.  If you look closely you can see where I lightly sponged blue ink on the panel as well.  I added a die cut poinsettia with Flower Soft center and a jingle bell tie for interest.  Makes me want to hum Christmas carols!

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...

Blessings...

Here is today's hop card featuring a sentiment from the Mahalo set.

This time I used the Mojo Monday sketch.  The base is a rust colored card stock with sunflower yellow matting.  I opted for coordinating DP for the other layers.  I used a die for the faux sun and foliage.  A few blossoms, paper punched greenery and a tiny dove finish the look.  What do you think?  Be sure to check out the other blog hop participants today!  Until tomorrow...

Blessings...

There is a tremendous number of items in the store including stamps, sentiments, accessories and bundles to save money!  If you love crafting as much as I do you are bound to find something to tickle your fancy!!!!

And speaking of tickling your fancy...  here is an image or two that tickled mine...

I stamped the image (Abigail) on Copic compatible paper before coloring.  The outfit (So Proud of You) was stamped on light blue card stock with black ink and fussy cut).  I added it and the bow on the image before cutting/embossing with an oval die.  The base is white card stock with a coordinating layer of light blue CS and an embossed white layer.  A double seam binding bow (white and blue) with pearl and die cut flourish adorn the corner.  I added a stamped sentiment on top with a clip.  Reminds me of a clipboard.  Such a darling little girl!  Be sure to check out Paper Sweeties'  store for all the stamps used here!

Now here's today’s hop schedule…  Be sure to check out what everyone has showcased!  Thanks for stopping by!
