A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' January Release

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs'  January Release!  Here is the card I created using the new Lavender set.  For more inspiration using the January Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

I layered the Quatrefoil die (white card stock) on top of a DP resembling white washed boards.  I stamped the sentiment (from the Lavender set) in black on white card stock and die cut before adding another die layer in a coordinating DP.  A floral spray nestled on the side (incorporating the Fancy Foliage dies) adds a feminine touch.  I added a few pearls to each corner for a dash of class!  :-)  So what do you think?  I love this sentiment and see it working into several cards for various occasions.  Thanks as always for stopping by!  {{hugs}}

A Look Back at ODBD's November Release

Happy Friday!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' November Release.  It's hard to believe the month is nearly over!  Thanksgiving will be here soon and then Christmas!  In honor of our Savior's birth, I created a card using the Poinsettia Wreath  stamp and coordinating Poinsettia Wreath Die.

the Quatrefoil Pattern Die

 

 

 

First I created my card base using a shaped die.  I then used my Quatrefoil Pattern Die to cut out another layer and used the shaped die to create a lattice layer.  If you look closely you will see I placed tiny adhesive pearls at the center of each quatrefoil.  I used the same shaped die that created the base (in two graduated sizes) to create a frame and added it with dimensional foam to the top.  I stamped the sentiment (black ink) on white card stock and used a label shaped die to create the sentiment panel.  I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper before coloring the greenery with a combo of YG17 and YG67.  I used R24 and R27 for the poinsettias and a mixture of G24 and Y17 for the centers.  After coloring, I used the coordinating die to cut out the image and added it (slightly above the top card edge) with dimensional foam.  I like how it elongates the card by placing it a bit off the page.  So what do you think?

QFTD & Dare Challenge ~ Thanks Berry Much ~

Good morning!  Hope you had a restful and relaxing weekend! 

Thanks to everyone who hopped along this weekend with me during the Paper Sweeties 1st Birthday party!  I had several questions about the paper I used on one of my projects (owls).  I found it at Hobby Lobby in a Christmas pack.  I just picked it up in the last few weeks.  So if you have a HL close by, check out the Christmas Paper Studio collections!  Thanks again for all of your sweet comments!

Now on to more fun!  I used today's card to play along in several of the "Dirty Girl" challenges at Split Coast.  I can't tell you what the challenges were...  SHHHH!!!  But I can share the card.  So here goes...

This card is actually a two layer die cut.  What do I mean by that?  Well, I cut the quatrefoil pattern layer first and then cut the shadow quatrefoil design die and placed in with a light layer of adhesive in the center of the pattern die cut.  I then placed the quatrefoil pattern die in the center and cut right through both layers.  In essence, I cut the center out of the original die.  I added dimensional foam to "puff" up the center and stamped my sentiment on a another die.  I layered it on with a fun foliage die and faux "blossoms" to the side.  It looks a great deal more complicated than it is.  But I sure like the look.  So what do you think?

TMS207 ~ Happy 40th Anniversary ~

Good morning!  So glad you could stop by and visit for a bit!  Today I have a project based on a sketch found at Tuesday Morning Sketches. 

 

I needed a 40th anniversary card and while doing color research, found out ruby red is the traditional color for your 40th!  Who knew?  So with a sketch and a color scheme in mind, I went to work. 

 

 

I created a ruby red card stock base with a layer of white and a die cut red decorative layer.  I stamped my image in black and colored each heart with my trusty Copics.  I added a bit of glitter glue to each heart for shine.  After cutting out my image, I matted it with red CS also and added it to my card base.  You know how I love flowers, right?  Well...  I had to add a few on the bottom corner!  ;-)  A few die cut and paper punched sprigs with lush roses fit the bill. 

 

 

I didn't stop there!  I used a couple of Our Daily Bread Designs recent stamp releases to embellish the inside along with a couple of darling die cut birds.  I can't wait to present this to the lovely couple!  I hope you like it and as always thanks for stopping by!
