MOJO450 & PP297 ~ Kiss the Cook ~

If you are anything like our household we LOVE to grill!  And being from farm country...  we are most definitely carnivores...  So I had to snicker just a bit when I found this paper (Authentique Homestead Collection) with cows, chickens, sheep and the like on it...  I must admit even though we raised sheep for several years...  I could not develop a taste for mutton.  But slap a big steak in front of me...

So here is a fun card featuring this week's Mojo Monday sketch
and a fun stamp and coordinating die from ODBD...  Grill Master & BBQ Grill Die...

and the items you see

and today's Mojo Monday sketch...

and the Paper Players Challenge Tic Tac Toe Challenge...

A Look Back at ODBD's May Mid Month Release

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' May Mid Month Release.  Here is the card I created using the Mid Month release set, Ride Em' Cowboy.  For more inspiration using the May Mid Month Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

I started out with a patriotic feel on this one...  perfect for Memorial Day...

Layer by Layer...

Navy Card Stock - 5.5 x 8.5 inches, scored and folded at 4.25 inches
Burgundy Card Stock - cut slightly smaller
White Card Stock for image panel cut with ODBD's - Pierced Rectangles Die

***Creative Nugget***  To create my background, I started by adding dots of Versamark (with a Versamark Pen) to the corner of white card stock and heat embossing with Clear Embossing Powder.  After cooling, I swiped Distress Ink (Faded Jeans) across the corner.  Using the direct to paper technique, I applied Frayed Burlap distress stain to my paper all over.  Once it dried, I took the corner of my Aged Mahogony distress Ink pad and gently added stripes.  I then stamped my image with a heavy black ink and applied in the desired corner.  After drying, I added Memento Ink with a pen where need to fill in the image.  After it cured, I added a light coat of Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to the image.  For the final touch...  I used Walnut Stain distress ink to age the edges (after lightly distressing the paper...)

I stamped my sentiment on Antique Linen inked white card stock and die cut using
ODBD's Pierced Rectangles Die.  A bit of tied jute finishes it off....

Here are the items you see today...

Now don't forget to visit my design team sisters to see all of the wonderful
projects they have for you.
Until next time...

F4A327~ You're Sweet ~

This week's Free 4 All Friday Challenge at SCS (Splitcoaststampers) is to make a card that reflects what you like to do, or wish you could do, in your free time.  Unfortunately, like many others, I have zero free time.  I keep telling myself that if I budgeted my time better...  but with job demands, life demands...  we've all been there, right?

So for me, I would love to have time to have a real flower garden.  Specifically, I would like a heritage garden full of hollyhocks, sweet peas and roses...  lavender...  you get the idea!  I love the idea of having a beautiful garden like something my great grandmother would have had!

So for today's challenge I colored a couple of rose images from Our Daily Bread Designs' Tea Time stamp set and went to work.

layer by layer...

4.25 x 11 inch white card stock base, scored and folded at 5.5 inches
4.25 x 5.5 inch layer of polka dotted DP from ODBD's Old Glory Paper Pad
ODBD's Majestic Medallion Die & white card stock

ODBD's Pierced Rectangles DieOld Glory Paper Pad & Medallion Background stamp (embossed with Versamark & White Embossing Powder)

ODBD's Lavish Layers Die & white card stock
ODBD's Tea Time stamp set, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics & ODBD's coordinating Teapot & Roses Die

ODBD's Flourishy Frame Die and white card stock
Medallion Sentiments stamp set - Indian Corn Blue (Close to My Heart) and Real Red (Stampin' Up)

and a bit of white seam binding...

CTD394 ~ Wishing ~

Today's card is for the weekly Color Throwdown.  The challenge this time...  to use the following inspiration photo...

and the Challenge LINK

I opted to go with a very simple palette of navy, red and soft pink...

I started with a white card stock base measuring 4.25 x 11 inches, scored and folded at 5.5 inches.  I cut a slightly smaller mat out of Night of Navy CS (by Stampin' Up).  I stamped my image (SU's Sheltering Tree set) on white card stock using Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand and Soft Suede inks, all by Stampin' Up.  I die cut the image using Our Daily Bread Designs' Double Stitched Rectangles Die and cut a slightly smaller Night of Navy CS mat.  (The navy mat is double with a bit of dimensional foam between...)  I finished with a Real Red CS die cut word using ODBD's Wishing Die.

Love this clean and simple image and color scheme...

Thanks for looking...

Until next time...

TLC587 ~ Collar Fold Card Challenge ~

Today's card is for a fun technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge...  to use some sort of collar fold on your card.  I opted to mimic a lovely blouse I can remember my great aunt wearing...  She always loved colorful calico prints with a sharply creased collar and a jaunty bow.  I remember her for her love of God and how she used that to encourage me.  When I would visit she would offer me a big cup of hot chocolate.  To this day a steaming mug reminds me of her and her calico frocks.  She was truly an example of letting your cup overflow and blessing others...

My sentiment and image (colored with Copics) may be found in this Our Daily Bread Designs' set,

Doesn't this die create the cutest bow?  There are two other sizes as well
available...

Matting for our sentiment... Stitched Ovals Die

and the sentiment layer...

And if you would like to check out the challenge here is the LINK.

My Cup Overflows

It amazes me just how truly blessed I am!  God never ceases to amaze me with His provisions and care.  I heard someone once say you must be mindful of your needs versus your wants.  God has always provided my needs.  (Not always on my timetable...  His time, not ours, right?)  I may want a nice new shiny Corvette.  Do I really NEED it though??  My dependable Toyota gets me around just fine, thank you very much!  (And I suspect my bank account is healthier due to that decision...)

Today's card features a lovely scripture from the Book of Psalms...  Chapter 23, Verse 5 to be exact...

And it features a few May release items from Our Daily Bread Designs...

Let's break it down layer by layer....

~ Thanks a Bunch ~

Happy Saturday!  I hope you find yourself warm and dry this morning!  The weather is a bit soggy in my neck of the woods...  It almost feels like we are in a 40 days and 40 nights kinda of weather pattern...  lol...  And I'm sure when Noah was filling the ark, a couple of these creatures were happy to hop on.  I often wonder if they were a bit mischievous...

Someday, when I get to heaven I may just find out the answer to that...  But today, I have a special card to share featuring North Coast CreationsThanks a Bunch stamp set and coordinating Monkey & Bananas Die set...  plus a few items from our sister company Our Daily Bread Designs'...
