And He Shall Be Called

What's in a name? A name tells us something about the person. A woman's maiden name tells you who their father was. A middle name (in my case Kathryn), often is a family name. In this case I was named after my mother's sister, who also shared this middle name. My last name, Ulrich, tells you I married a man with this last name. And finally, Lori, tells you my Mom and Dad decided after toying with Rachel and Lori, that this moniker won out! I'm glad! I'm not so sure I could have lived up to Rachel... lol...

Your name tells you a little about who you are and where you came from. On today's card I used a background stamp which shows the names of Jesus. He is referred to as the Lion of Judah. The Bible tells us he came from the house of Judah. He is referred to as the bridegroom. We also know he awaits his bride (the church.) The Bible refers to him as an anchor, something that grounds us and holds us firm when the storms of life are about to overtake us. Jesus is also called the Door. There is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus. He is the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice. The Son of God who took our punishment. And He is the Alpha and Omega. We know he was there when the earth was created and he will be there when the new earth will come. Wow! We learn so much about our Lord simply by the names the Bible gives him! He is truly the Light of the World!

Thanks so much for taking time to read and share your thoughts. Today's post was recently featured at Faithfully Yours. Blessings to you!

Nice - I like the touch of the butterfly.
When I got married I kept my full name and added my husband's. (Not hyphenated - besides, my maiden name is too long to do that. 11 letters.) My first name - my mother had a friend (she made my godmother - I don't know who she is though!) with a daughter already with the name and my mother liked it. My middle name comes from my paternal aunt. I held onto my maiden name because it was part of me. I didn't want to lose a piece of myself. LOL

Surprise!!! It's Best Bunny!
