Happy New Year

I promise that I know it is still October.  But I couldn't resist taking a few moments to work on a wintry themed card.  The forecast here calls for flurries in a few days.  And even though I dread the months of cold weather and shorter days...  I do enjoy working on a snowy card.  Unless, I have to tromp through inches of snow to get to my car...  and drive out on slippery roads at 5:00 a.m.  So this is the best of both worlds...  not quite winter but creating dreamy winter themed cards...  **sigh**

This time, I pulled out a few items from the October release including the Card Greetings stamp set and Ice Skate Die.

  Step-by-step recipe

1.  4.25 x 11 inch white card stock base; scored and folded at 5.5 inches
2.  White Card Stock - Snowflake Sky Die (base layer and snowflake background)
3.  Pink Card Stock - Ovals Die (mat)
4.  White CS - Sentiment Panel (Card Greetings in Berry Burst Ink) die cut with Pierced Ovals Die
5.  Pink, Brown, White CS & Silver Poster Board (layered skates) NEW Ice Skate Die
6.  Edges of Skates trimmed with Glossy Accents and Polar White Flower Soft
7.  White Card Stock - Dimensional Snowflakes (with foam adhesive) Snow Crystals Die

And the items from Our Daily Bread Designs' October release...

and a few old favorites...

Revisiting the October Release From Our Daily Bread Designs

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' October Release.  I have two projects to share today using Be a Sunflower stamp set, coordinating Sunflower DieFollow the Son Paper PadFall Favorites Paper PadMerry Christmas Caps Die and Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad.   For more inspiration using the October Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

I started with a couple of rich layered solids (brown and burgundy) from the Fall Favorites Paper Pad and added a designer paper layer from the Follow the Son Paper Pad.  I used the largest die in the Pierced Rectangles Die set to create the patterned base.  After trimming down the polka dot band (also from the Fall Favorites Paper Pad), I added a bit of hemp twine and tied a simple bow.  The sentiment and image both came in the new Be a Sunflower stamp set.  I used the coordinating Sunflower Die to cut out the image and added it with a bit of dimensional foam.  I used a few old favorites, the Ovals Die and Pierced Ovals Die to finish off the sentiment panel.
I chose to use dies only on the second card.  And since I need more Christmas cards in my stash...  it seemed like the best route to go.
I used designer paper from two collections, the new Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad and the original Christmas Collection 2015 Paper Pad.  (Solids are from the Coordinating PP and the pattern is in the original Christmas Collection.  I nested a Double Stitched Rectangles Die and Lavish Layers Die to create my frame.  I offset a couple of die cuts using the NEW Merry Christmas Caps Die.  So here are a few of the new items you see...

~ A November Pre-Order Special at Our Daily Bread Designs ~

Good morning and welcome to a special Pre-Release post from Our Daily Bread Designs.   Today through October 31st, Our Daily Bread Designs is offering Pre-Order Bundle Specials on the November 2017 Release!

All November 2017 Bundle pre-orders will begin shipping on November 1, 2017 or sooner, please see the ODBD Blog  for more details.  Please note that the individual items from the November 2017 Release will not be available for purchase until November 1st!

The design team has a special blog hop ready to showcase the bundles featured.   And just do you know, there are three different bundles you can choose from.  Each has a sampling of items from the November release.  So today, I would like to showcase some of the items available in the pre-order bundles.  My first card features a few new items including the new We've Moved stamp set, Welcoming Door Die, Curvy Slopes Die, Christmas Door Greenery Die and Trees & Deer Die.  (You can go to this LINK to see the Bread Basket Bundle.)

Check out the Christmas Door Bundle that feature most of these items... Here are a few graphics showing the bundles available.  The stamp set is perfect for special holidays and to welcome someone into a new home!  The coordinating door dies, feature everything from the front door (which can open) to greenery to decorate!  I used the Curvy Slopes die to create my bit of snow and the new Trees & Deer Die for my evergreens beside the door!

And now for my second card featuring the new Winter Cardinal Stamp set, Curvy Slopes Die, Snow Globe Die and Christmas Collection Paper Pad 2017!  I used the Curvy Slopes Die again to create the angled DP panel behind my image.  The Christmas Paper Collection 2017 has a great assortment of solids (like the soft green and burgundy here) plus cute prints!  I colored my image (from the new Winter Cardinal stamp) and cut it out using the new Snow Globe Die.  I used a gold poster board along with the same die to create my base.

Don't you just love that Snow Globe Die?  Here is a graphic showing another bundle featuring most of the items seen here.

And the Snow Globe Bundle link...
So please join the rest of our design team to see what is coming up the first of November.  And be sure to lock in the bundle you want during this special deal!  Thanks for dropping in!

~ Everyone Needs a Few New Ornaments ~

Good morning and welcome to my weekly look back at new products from Our Daily Bread Designs'.  This week, I have a card featuring a few items from the October release including the Card Greetings stamp set,  Double Stitched Rounded Rectangles, Rounded Rectangles Die, Ornament Branch Die and Pine Branches Die.

I started with a white card stock base, created using the Rounded Rectangles Die.  I nested the next layer (ODBD's Christmas Paper Collection 2014) after cutting and embossing with the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I chose this lovely scripture from the book on Luke, featured in the Card Greetings stamp set, stamping it on white card stock with a rich green ink.  I cut, embossed and inked this panel using an old favorite in my ODBD collection, Vintage Labels Die.  The new Ornament Branch Die lends itself well to shadowing.  For this project, I cut my die out first in white CS and then a layer of silver poster board.  I offset them to give a silver "shadow."  I also cut another image out in green and carefully trimmed it to fit the top branch.  The die cut ribbon (also done in silver) can be found in the Circle Ornaments die set.  I chose two shades of brown card stock to create the itty bitty Pine Cones Die.  I distressed the DP layer with a bit of white, pumice and sky shades and for a final touch added a few flat backed silver beads.

So here are a few of the new items you see on this project...

Thank you for visiting and as always, happy crafting!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' October Release and Blog Hop

Fall has officially been  with us for a week or so.  However, it doesn't really feel like fall for me until the first day of October.  This is when I launch into full creative mode!  I start prepping the house for the harvest season.  There are chrysanthemums on my front porch and a scarecrow to greet those who enter.  And I have even starting adding to my Christmas decorating stash!  So it seems only natural to be working on fall projects and adding a few more cards to my Christmas stash!  This month, Our Daily Bread Designs' added THREE paper pads, stamp sets and dies designed to help make your own shaped cards!  And the best part...  they cover both fall and Christmas projects.  So you can be creating both just like I am!  I can't wait to share the two projects I have for you today!  I did one for both fall and winter!  Don't forget to check at the end of today's post for info about this month's blog hop!  And be sure to come back each Friday to see a special project featuring this month's release!

So here my first project featured the new Be a Sunflower stamp set, coordinating Sunflower DieFollow the Son Paper Pad, coordinating Fall Favorites Paper PadRounded Rectangles DieDouble Stitched Rounded Rectangles Die and the lovely Stitched Leaves Die.

I started with a the Rounded Rectangles Die to create my base and added another layer of chocolate DP from the new Fall Favorites Paper PadRounded Rectangles Die.  I then pulled out another DP from the collection and used the coordinating Double Stitched Rounded Rectangles Die  to create my next layer.  I stamped the sunflower image (Be A Sunflower) on Copic compatible paper and colored each image before using the new Sunflower Die to cut each out.  I added a white die cut fence to the bottom and stamped my sentiment on Kraft paper before die cutting it as well.  I also added a few of the new Stitched Leaves Die using a few of the rich colors found in the new Follow the Son Paper Pad.  The same sheets are also available in the coordinating Fall Favorites Paper Pad.  So here are a few of the items you see here...

For my second project, I chose to use the new Card Greetings stamp set, Ice Skate DiePine Branches DieChristmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad along with a few old favorites including the Christmas Collection 2015 Paper Pad, Pinecones Die, Rectangles and Pierced Rectangles Die and Pierced Ovals Die.  I started with a white card stock base (4.25 x 5.5 inches; gate folded) and added a bit of striped paper from the new Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad and die cut with the Pierced Rectangles Die.  The top DP layer (found in the Christmas Collection 2015 Paper Pad set) was die cut with ODBD's Rectangles die.  I cut a slightly larger white CS mat.  I chose to piece together the lovely skates (Ice Skate Die)  using white, black and silver card stock.  I added a bit of lacing (also in the die set) and nestled the pair over a faux pine branch.  I created this using the new Pine Branches Die and nestled in a faux pine cone using an old favorite, Pinecones Die.  I stamped the sentiment (Card Greetings) on a rich green DP (Christmas Coordinating 2015 Paper Pad) and then die cut it with Pierced Ovals Die.
